The 25L is already a pretty nice set up especially for a pre built easily one of the best pre builds. Stormforce are also pretty nice pre builds for the price you pay you get a fairly powerful pc that can run today's games easily.
A good looking PC, my only observation is that old PSU was perfectly fine on Gigabyte MB without adapter, the 4pin EPS delivering 144W, letting 4pins unoccupied, and that Ryzen 5 didn't use so much power. In the end, the new PSU is better for future upgrades.
Right. I knew I could use it still but decided to go the safer more upgrade ready route. Also a thing to consider… the HP PSU cable lengths are VERY short. I may have had some issues there!
can u make another video, the rest of the omen part, just transform into another case. minimal parts upgrade like ram and proc cooler with m.2 ssd only..
Looks great! One thing I would do to make it look better is to run the front I/O cable underneath the motherboard before screwing it in so that the cables are less visible
Came across this video of yours and just had to watch to see how many of the pc parts you'd be able to salvage. Honestly a little surprised by the outcome, reason being that I purchased one of these HP Omen "beauties" myself previously. The version I ended up with had a salvageable LGA1151 cpu, 2060 gpu, m.2 drive, one (and only included) fan, 2 workable with for now (16gb total) ram sticks, entry level 500w cooler master psu, a 1tb 3.5 hdd. The main points of annoyance for me were the ridiculous oven case and the low spec motherboard. Those I've chosen to replace as the salvaged parts are going into a new build for one of my younger brothers. Meanwhile I've ended up building myself a completely new pc from the ground up. Had to learn about components and allot of the things necessary to build a pc. Moral of this story was "buy an omen pre built pc if you want a life lesson" =). But man have I learnt about and from so many interesting people in the TH-cam pc building community. You guys regularly post an extremely generous amount of free to watch content that is actually educational and entertaining 😄. Thank you for sharing an interesting video. Would be very interested in watching a build made from some of the other leftover components from that omen build, maybe a lower spec but better airflow build 🤔
I have a 2060 and an i5 in mine and I’m yet to find a game I can’t run with consistent frame rates no matter my graphic settings although I have noticed my gpu usage only uses like 40% on most games for some reason and idk why
Crazy I didnt know there were so many variants. I have ryzen 7 5700g 32 gb dual channel 3500 mhz ram geforce rtx 3070 , with an added 120 msi AIO and 2 added corsair 120 rgb elite fans. Runs like a beast. I play warzone and now mw2 on it over 100 fps. My friends with there custom rigs say mine looks like it runs better 🤣👍 thanks for the tip on back panel been wanting to clean up some of the messy wiring
Nice build, and the aesthetics all go very well together. Also, that HP PSU with only 4 pin CPU power would be great for an older Optiplex, as all the ones I've seen have 4 pin on the boards.
Right now my monitor resolution is 2560x1440 while my main game warzone i run 1920x1080 while getting 70-95 fps im really trying to improve my fps what would give me the most bang for my buck
I did! I’m going to try to flip them with a case swap. The motherboard looks to be mostly laid out in a standard way to should work well for that function.
how come he didnt know 1650 is quite a good gpu..? yes its about RX470 but consume much less power thus no pcie needed. give me that GPU if u dont want it.
FALSE TITLE... Does not upgrade a 25L! Basically he dismantles an old 25L, shoves "everything" aside including the OMEN case, then proceeds to assemble a completely different custom build.
Not sure what that is supposed to mean… as I mentioned in the video this was just a fun video to document the process, not necessarily a guide or focus on a particular overall budget.
Haha I did the same thing I upgraded my ram graphics card and storage on my 25l. Then the bad mobo on my omen 25l fried a month after the upgrades. The fried mobo then fried my power supply so I bought a new power supply and I just got a job to pay for my new mobo and to save for a car.
Found your old video used parts pc channel fast forward to your new content new part new part sponsored sponsored part new yea ok so it was a used parts channel till you could get free new ones
That hp omen board is horrible. Good luck finding a cpu that it supports. There's like 5 cpus that work with it. Also the ram compatibility is atrocious.
@@PCTechHustle The 1650 isn't far behind the 1060 3GB. It's more powerful than a 1050Ti but ever so slightly slower than an RX570. In fact, it's pretty similar to a 6500XT (albeit on PCI-E Gen4). It even has the encoders that are found on its bigger brothers so it can be used in a budget editing machine as well. Also the 1650 can handle most games with ease at 1080p Medium (some games High and some newer games like Cyberpunk and all on low).
@@kb1118tech yep! Great points! The 1650 really isn’t that bad for what it is. The 10603GB is about a %20 uplift, nothing massive. I was just trying to keep the spend low with my client and going any further up in GPU would have significantly inflated the price of the upgrades. Good thing now we have a beefy power supply to accommodate even bigger upgrades in the future.
That GPU upgrade isn't a real upgrade, the 1650 has 4GB of VRAM and performs pretty much equally to the old 1060 3GB. A 6GB version would've been nice, but a 3GB one... You swapped out a GPU for one that performs the same while having less VRAM and consuming more power...
I mean I did transform it / did what I said in the title. Stay tuned though I still have the core 25L on me that I plan to do something with. As in add in upgrades instead of a new build.
I wouldn't really say this was an upgrade, more like you just completely took apart the omen and built a whole new pc😭
THANK GOD!! I’ve wait forever for someone to do something with THIS PC pre built. Our first PC prebuilt, it was decent years ago
I don't believe you transformed but REPLACED IT with another PC, 😜
Not entirely replaced! 🤪🤪🤪
Replaced 👎🏽
Glad to see older parts making a difference. Nice.
The 25L is already a pretty nice set up especially for a pre built easily one of the best pre builds.

That's what I was thinking. It looks pretty good 🤷🏼♀️ and it runs pretty good
Thank you it's always a pleasure to follow your videos 👌
Thanks for watching!
Will a full ATX board fit in the case? The Omen case I mean? Could do a sleeper build.
Nah it’s just a micro atx size
That looks fantastic! Pretty much every OEM upgrade. Get rid of almost everything and start over 😂
Haha! Pretty much!
Great video, as always. 👍
Thanks!!!!

You may or may not be underestimating that 1650. AFAIK they are all 4gb.

It’s on the very near future agenda!!! Stay tuned!

Nice! If you are seeing low GPU utilization you likely have a CPU bottle neck. You have some performance being left on the table actually.
@@PCTechHustle yeah I’m not really sure how to fix that tho unless I need to upgrade it ?
have you made any changes?

That’s a great idea! It’s got the power just not the pins!
Im still trying to find the exact geforce gtx 1650 from this video but still cant.
Probably a tough one to find, it’s an OEM card from HP. There are plenty of them for about $120-150 on eBay though from other manufacturers.

@@PCTechHustle i just bought a new gpu
I love doing this

How the Hell did I miss this 🤦🏾♂🤷🏾♂

thats a brand new pc💀
