I love that my husband loves it. He cut down 2 20-25ft trees in our backyard. He said it saved us about $1,400; we saved the wood for our fire pit. Thank you!
This is a great restoration. I have the very same chainsaw. You do not have to rebuild the battery for lithium ion though. You can buy a 20v lithium max adapter for about $8 and run it. Since I had Black & Decker tools that use 20 v lithium , this was easy. Worked great. Got much better performance out of the saw too.
I have the same saw also. I even did an additional mod. I replaced the 8 inch bar with a 14 inch bar and chain. Works great. I’m even able to use DEWALT batteries in it.
I modified the Ni-Cd battery with 10 lithium cells 30A (4,5 Ah) as you show : The saw worked one hour non stop perfectly on 6/15cm branches (dry and hard wood). The only issue with this engine is chain oil : only on the teeth but not enough in the bar groove. I must be careful.....But huge difference compared to the Ni-Cd!!!
Great job on this one.... Those saws are kinda limited, but yours really worked well above average, for that size of cordless saw.... And besides your hard core work on these items, I really do love the stickers you make, for your battery packs. Very nice!
Very good restoration 👍👍...but on a useless chainsaw: because its biggest issue is that the chain runs really too low , perhaps a little faster with lithium pack? Would it be possible here to use 24V without damage for the motor?
Hi. I really enjoy your work, that is a great job. I have the same chainsaw and i have a problem with the motor: when I press the start button the motor turn for a half of second and stop. Please how can I solve this problem. Thank you
Is there any way except battery cells welder device to assemble like use something more simple and cheaper? In my country this device is very expensive
Tight fit with the cells. Good work! I've seen some manufacturers use LiPo pouches for cells in their batteries, would that work for your application? I'm certain they are more expensive/ less available for reuse.
Li-Pol have much cobalt in it. So its chemical unstable and it will give less cycles than regular Li-Ion 18650. Sure it will give you huge amperage, also its very compact and lightweight. But I would not use it In my tools etc. also its expensive as hell. So its something for something.
Top as usual ... I suggest a more challenging jobs, converting brushed AC or DC tools into DC brushless. It needs replacing the motor by similar size BLDC motor. It will be challenging in speed control and heat dissipation and may require overhead protection, as I think. Gampate
I bought them from China, I'm not guarantee it is genius. In this video's description has link to this battery th-cam.com/video/l2cPcoHZIfw/w-d-xo.html

Thank you for listing the motor as 775. That allowed me to save my chainsaw when the motor burned up when the chain was hard stopped due to a pinch.
You did a great job with this upgrade. Simple but effective. I'd use that for trimming branches in my garden.
Job step by step...im like👍✌️🇮🇩
Another great renovation.
When I look at your movies, how easy and quick it is, it makes me so much energy to run to garages and fix a few things.
Great to hear! Thank you!

I think this chainsaw is used to cut a small branch of the tree, your idea is acceptable, increase the voltage up to 24V, it will have more power.
@@gear_show Thanks! I will try with 5 cellsx2 like you. Do you really think this motor can support 24V?
Please how many amps did you take for the BMS?
What about the brushes on the motor. With such a great refresh I would worry about the condition of the motor and it’s intervals.
A quite convinient and useful tool
Great job, thank you brother. You are so talented
Thank you too
Good evening, where did you learn to fix the machines that you fix in the videos, some school, or was it your head? Big hug from Portugal ..
Hello, I learn those skills from internet like google, especially from TH-cam.
Good job.
The screw closer to the camera at 7:05 didn't look like it got seated all the way down. Good job either way though.
Okay, thank you for let me know!
An inspiration to us all. Happy New Year.

@@gear_show the battery is good. I used a power supply to turn on the motor but always the same thing

Cool, Thanks for the info
Also more dangerous than Li-on, but more compact.

Shouldn't the new sticker on the battery have 21V on it since that's what it was upgraded to?

По мне так 775-й мотор слабоват для этой пилы, надо было заменить на новый бесщеточный 😉🤓👍🏻

Hi, thank you! Here it is item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=642858226266
Very nice restoration, but I'm pretty sure it needs a new chain. It should cut through wood like butter.
You are right! thank you!
it's a shame there doesnt seem to be any 4323 Li-Ion batteries to swap out those NiMH cells with 1:1, but this was very well done
