    I just bought this identical car used in February 2018, as a third car for my wife and I. This car is a blast to drive. It's actually roomy inside and has surprising performance and handling. It was a great bargain with less than 10K miles on it.

    i almost bought the 2016 civic. the best thing about this car is the handling. the steering is on the light side, but it is very direct. you get that fun go kart feeling driving it. you can whip this new civic around easily. its a huge improvement over the older boring commuter feel of previous models.

    To this day, the 2016 Civic Touring has one of the best heated seats, compared to my other four cars, one of them being a 2018 Lexus RX 450

    I watched the entire video and I have to admit, this is the clearest, most comprehensive video for the Civic Touring. I’ve watched quite a few videos and this one is top notch. He even explained how to use Honda Sensing, a feature I need help with. Now I know how to use mine. But I probably still won’t use it lol. Plus, I did not know about the drivers side mirror how it concave like that. Pretty cool. I will take a look at it tomorrow since it’s night already.
    It is a beautiful car and I’m loving my civic. I bought the exact same model previewed in this video except mine is a 2017. Not much changed from the 16 to the 18 model. Why? It’s already too perfect. Honda doesn’t see the need to change what’s been already a good. The civic already stormed their way to number one for best selling in its segment. And I’m one of them that contributed. Lol.

    Nearly 87,000 miles in my 2016 Civic Touring sedan in this same color combo, without a single mechanical issue. I bought it used in 2018 with just under 10,000 miles on the odometer. I drive 75 highway miles a day roundtrip to work daily and it still runs great with plenty of power.

    Wow, very thorough tour of the car. Answered a lot of my remaining questions remaining after watching at least a dozen other videos about the new Civic. Thanks for sharing. Really excited about this new generation and good timing too now that my 2006 Civic is on it's last legs. :) A couple of things I was wondering about: do the visors have those little sliding panels on the back to extend the length? I like those. Also, I'm guessing that hitting the left and right arrows on the 4-way steering wheel control will skip songs while playing off your phone?

    • @MikesCarInfo
      @MikesCarInfo  9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Brain Candy TV Thanks for your feedback! The visors do not have the extenders however it doesn't need them since the area around the rear-view mirror is heavily tinted on the windshield. Regarding the phone question... I don't know for sure but I think it does change to the next song.

    • @braincandytv
      @braincandytv 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks, Mike. I'm trying to decide between a Kia Optima SX and the new Civic Touring while making a chart to compare all of the pros & cons. It's a tough choice and I don't quite understand the performance difference since the Kia has way more HP and torque but gets similar 0-60 times as the Civic. I guess it comes down to the transmission and weight difference and perhaps the Kia would have better acceleration at higher speeds? I know neither of them are super sports cars, but for the sake of comparison, I want to know which performs better. I guess I need to test drive them both to see how they feel. Still have lots to learn but I'm picking up a lot from these helpful TH-cam videos. Cheers, Michael

    • @MikesCarInfo
      @MikesCarInfo  9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +Brain Candy TV I think it is the significant weight difference... definitely a test-drive is the best way to decide.

    DOHC 1.5L turbo with 174 HP still producing 30+ mpg average sounds exceptionally amazing to me. Love the vehicle. Although aesthetically, I wish they would change the body style to more of the 8th gen civics. I guess I'm a little biased towards that since I own a 2008 civic.

    Thanks Mike!
    I expect to get my new 2016 Civic Touring Edition sometimes next week! From a 2012 EX-L to the Touring Edition, is quite a leap indeed. One thing I noticed is a VERY cool feature that you fail to mention, maybe because you didn't know at the time.
    As you are in Reverse gear, try to turn the wheels right and left .. the Camera Screen Guides (Gages) are moving to let you see where you're really heading. This is a UNIQUE feature from Honda! Try it! Me finding that out was a fluke! LOL
    Thanks for your review, Mike! Great video quality too .. 4K / 2160p is not always found on TH-cam. I really like this new UHD Standard.
    Keep up the good work!

      I can't tell you all of the improvements the new 2016 Touring Civic has that the 2012 EX-L (my previous car) has. Technology is astounding in the new 2016.
      I just L-O-V-E the LKAS (Like Keeping Assistant System) and the ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control) features .. especially when I blow my nose (with 2 hands) LOLOL .. Takes a curve by itself !! GREAT feature!
      Happy new Year, Mike!

    I just brought a new touring and I do say it's a very nice car. However I have to bring it back into the dealership to fix the subwoofer problem, it rattles in the back way too much. But other then that, I enjoy this car very much so far! But if you choose the color in this video (Like I did) I will say it does look nice at first with the white on black look. But be warned that for whatever reason bugs are attracted to this white color. I have no idea why, but bugs like white cars because of how the sun reflects off them. Wish I knew that before I got the white one. But oh well, white looks great on this car, especially if you black out the windows.

    I love Honda products. But I've been wondering for a while what is bugging me in the style of this one. The back window following by the top of the trunk (for what is left) don't have curves. And that would have been cool to get chrome around tail light rather than just red plastic.

    • @GrayOwl.
      @GrayOwl. 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nhat Tran I would go with the Civic. The civic actually competes with the santra. But even against the Altima, it seems to be better. More features like lane-watch and apple carplay/android auto and i like the looks(both interior and exterior better).
      The altima is bigger and has more power than the civic but it also heavier and pricier.

    This car is awesome, I have driven civics all my life and this is a real masterpiece. However, 2013-2015 is more Aesthetically pleasing than 2016, but when it comes to performance and comfort 2016 is country miles ahead.

    So in order to fold down the rear seats you have to access the release control through the trunk?? How is that convenient? Why does the entire dash have to be digital and computerized? I don't get why the option to control the heating and a/c is also through the touch screen? Wouldn't it be faster just going directly to the buttons and knobs right below? And the tiny place to put your phone is not really easy to get to. The shifter is in the way and to run the wires to the plug ins is not that easily done either. Such a tiny little awkward area to reach to.

    So I am interested in this car, but is this car better than a sports model and also is there a other car better than this model that is a 2016 car that is reasonable and reliable to get right now for 2023 that is a low model car and yes, I know the issues about this car depending on how the car is towards miles and maintenance things. It all depends but yeah I want you guys opinion.

    Mike, I have a question. I've just watched both of your reviews on the 2016 Honda Accord & Honda Civic in the touring trim models. Now, I have every intention on getting either one of them as my primary car in the next month or so, but I want your opinion as to which you prefer. Of course there's a price difference and such, but generally speaking, which of the two would you recommend more to somebody based on the styles of the cars, fuel economy, overall efficiency, power or speed, and comfort or feel? Completely disregarding the pricing, though. What's your preference?

    • @MikesCarInfo
      @MikesCarInfo  9 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I prefer the Accord. It has more room and drives like a dream.

    The biggest mistake for the 2016 civic was the elimination of the two tier instrument panel, why??? Because now the driver has to look down to the instrument panel for his speed, and fuel efficiency meter. On my 2013 Civic and all 2012-2015 civics, the two tier instrument panel is very crucial and so beneficial for safe driving and you don't have to look down to watch your speed and notice your fuel efficiency meter which is a lot more noticeable on the 2012-2015 Civics. You can keep your eyes on the road ahead and notice your digital speedometer in your downward peripheral vision and the fuel efficiency meter lights are a lot more bigger and brighter on the 2012-2015 civics. The tail lights of the 2013-2015 Civics are much nicer and cooler looking than the 10th generation 2016 Civic. Also the setbacks for the dashboard look like that of the Toyota Corolla not being flush and smooth, notice the wide gaps?? Well see how the 2017s will look like according to consumer reports for the 2016 civics. But overall, Honda vehicles are the most fuel efficient, safe, reliable, great quality parts, and car than any other car in the world, built to last!
