    I purchased this exact same year and same color Touring in January. It's my first Honda. I love the performance and the features. I'm very pleased with the car.

    Great video. I own a 23 touring hatch with 6 speed. It’s a great small car. I’m loving the gas mileage.
    Also in the cluster turn can turn off left side display by turning off time and date.

    What I like most about the new civic is the perfect combination of the engine and improved CVT ending up with a very linear acceleration.

    Looks much nicer than the base model Civic. The CVT is just fine for putting around town. The Si is there if you want a more sporty driving experience.

    A larger wheel with lower profile, wider tire gives the vehicle sharper handling. You can switch to tiny 16" wheels and you'll get a softer ride but you'll also sacrifice handling. I find the ride pretty forgiving and I enjoy the sharp handling. It sounds like the EX, with smaller wheels, would be a better fit for you.

    • @PaulsPlace
      @PaulsPlace  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      They do! The “service manual” is actually built into the instrument cluster, so it tells you when to change/service every single thing on the car (transmission fluid, filters, etc). Pretty cool!

    Hi Paul! Great, informative video. I’m actually torn between a new civic touring or used accord sport 2.0T. Your video helped a ton especially since you had the accord previously and I watched that video as well. Not quite sure what direction I’ll go. I like the power of the 2.0T but the compactness of the civic. Any extra input or advice you could give? My mind changes everyday. Thanks!

    • @PaulsPlace
      @PaulsPlace  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you! Honestly, test drive them both and see what's going to work better for you. I loved the Accord, but honestly I didn't need that much power or that much space. I prefer the smoothness, compactness, and nimbleness of the Civic.
      The 10 speed in the Accords are pretty jerky.

    Hey! Nice review, I have a 2023 Honda HRV Sport red and I know exactly what you mean by the rattle sound in the center. Does it happen when you are in drive idling at a light? Does it also happen when you put in reversed and go away if you put in park or neutral?

    I have the same car, and the only thing that slightly worrying me is my mpg seems to be alot lower than what most people are saying they get. Granted i bought mines brand new as the only driver, and i also only have about a 5-15 minute commute to work 5 days a week, so technically would be considered city driving with all the stop and go lights and whatnot.
    So far at around 1200 miles, im at 20mpg, which seems abit low, but then again, ive noticed lately the number going up slowly but surely as i continue to drive more and more, so maybe itll top out closer to 25-30, like what ive been seeing most people are getting with this car. I do occasionally drive in sport mode, and have "a little bit of fun", but for the most part im always in normal mode and tend to drive relatively calm, if that makes sense. I always dont ever really use the highway, which im sure also plays a role in this. Maybe within the next 300 miles or so, my mpg will rise up to about 25, which will be suffice for me. Im just curious to know if others with the same car or similar, are experiencing the same thing as me.

    • @PaulsPlace
      @PaulsPlace  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ooof! That does seem a bit low, but if you are strictly city driving that makes sense if you are idling a lot. If it’s only 5-10 minutes, the motor hasn’t got a chance to warm up yet and is probably still running rich. Also, if you are in a winter climate that absolutely kills MPG. So it’ll probably go up more when summer approaches. Thanks for watching!

    Do you ever wonder where that hundred miles came from on your new car?
    I had 75 on my new civic.
    At first I thought it was people test driving. Turns out more often than not those cars are part of a dealership trade. My car was driven from San Diego California to to Riverside California a trip of about 70 MI

    • @PaulsPlace
      @PaulsPlace  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I do know! My car came from a dealer in Plymouth, MI. It was the exact color and trim I wanted, so they just drove it down from there and traded one of their cars for mine. Thanks for watching!

    Hey Paul, don’t spend money for 16” rims and tires. Unfortunately will not help reducing road noice. I have 16” on my 2022 civic. Civic has road noice due to not having any insulations on the body unlike German brands.

    It's not so much the wheels for the noise as it's not alot of sound deadening. I also had a 2019 accord 2.0t and I loved it. The 2.0 engine is amazing but it was loud inside. Idk why they can't just put more deadening in it. I also had the 5th gen ram which is silent compared to the accord and civic but sold both and now in the new RDX advance and it's a dream.

    • @PaulsPlace
      @PaulsPlace  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The touring actually has quite a bit of sound deadening. It’s definitely the wheels for me haha. The trims below have like none though. Thanks for watching! Seems like we have similar tastes in cars haha

    Hello, I’m interested in buying 2024 Honda Civic sport. I’ll be going from a 2005 Lexus is300 (215 hp) to Civic (158 hp) that being said, I’m aware of the power difference. The reason I’m going for a civic is for better fuel economy. The thing is, how would I adjust with the civic with cvt?
    Do you have any advice on getting used to how the civic runs?

    • @PaulsPlace
      @PaulsPlace  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It’s not that much different. Super smooth, you won’t notice any shifting. I’d recommend an EX or Touring if you could swing it. The 1.5T is a lot more fun and you get better features with the higher trims.

    • @Stay_True_-

      @@PaulsPlace I see. I test drove one last week it was really nice but it lacked power or speed compared to my is300 but of course is300 is a v6 so it’s unfair to compare.
      I was going to go for the touring trim but I REALLY like the sport interior it’s all black plus the sport would be ideal for my budget.
      Also, any tips or opinions on adjusting to a v4 cvt from a v6?
