Oh my god! It's The Sphere Hunter Susie! I am such a big fan of your work it's genuinely amazing how you capture the tone of the games I grew up with! (Fave is Parasite Eve/Classic RE). I am currently loving FF XVI will you please do a video on it?
That moment where he shared the loss of his father, and it’s impact on him, that was exceptionally generous of him. And FFXVI is a truly beautiful tribute to his father, I hope Ben knows just how great a job he did.
Thirsty fan-girling aside he was the perfect person for this role. His emotion and voice acting was phenomenal and he is so involved in the game. He is so humble about it but I hope he sees how he truly made such a big impact in the game.
Ben Star knocked it out of the park as Clive-- easily becoming one of my favorite protagonists in the series. That he's a long-time FF fan (and got started with VIII to boot!) is just absolute kismet. (here's hoping he gets a role in FFXIV someday >_>)
Such a great chat. Just completed FFXVI, definitely love it more after the end. The themes of loss and pain are very well executed, I can now see where that passion came from. Ben clearly poured everything into this role- legend!
I love that such a big fan is able to be part of one of the best entries in the franchise!! Must be one of the wildest dreams come true, I'm so happy for him and he deserves all of it❤
I’ve seen Ben Starr appearing as a guest in FFXVI live streams on channels such as PlayStation Access and Outside Xbox and he is so hilarious and passionate and joyful. He seems like a genuinely amazing person and the perfect choice to voice Clive. Final Fantasy XVI is only my third Final Fantasy game, but XVI has solidified it as my favourite franchise of all time. Something finally knocked Pokémon off the top spot for me.
I started with FF 7 and some have been hit and miss since then as .i don’t like the online play. I am so pleased with FF 16 and Ben has been at the top of my list for the voice of Clive. This has reignited my joy in playing these games and the story is fantastic. Thank you Ben for bringing Clive to life and pouring all the emotion into him that has pulled at my heart as I work my way through his journey.
How did I not know this podcast existed! Yaaaaas. Loving FF XVI so far and can’t cope with how beautiful Ben is AND he has that voice. Talk about winning the genetic lottery!
Oh my god! I don't know how you guys weren't freaking out and fangirling the entire time! I also thought we were almost gonna get a smug Biggus moment at the end there with that last question hahaha. Excellent job, great interview and podcast!!!!!
I didn’t know Ben’s dad and grandpa passed away while he was working on the game. Wow! I just recently lost my grandpa a few weeks ago so I can relate to the pain he’s going through. But I’m glad he used the game to process the grief he was feeling. Good for him. Also can I just say that Ben’s dog Milton is adorable. I started following his Instagram account and he’s so cute.
Concering how Clive pulls his sword out. Actually I looked at the back scabbard a couple of times and it appears to have a side opening so one can assume that he moves it a certain way and it unlocks from the scabbard and slides out from the side. But of course I could be wrong on my recollection.
The part where they talk about old video games made me think about how I miss being able to open most of the doors in towns. Nowadays, the door is already open and there’s only one or two of them with no npcs to boot.
I did exactly what Ben did with the Elden Ring Platinum. To be able to save right before the end, and get all 3 ending trophies, you have to make sure you do every single side quest and steps tied into those endings and make sure they're done in a certain order, which is a huge achievement in itself. 😅
Imagine being a huge fan of ff, they call you to play clive and you're twisted cuz u don't know if you wanted to play the game or live it 😂. I'd like to ask him if he will play ffxvi in stream or not going to happen because he was there and got spoiled while voice acting.
I thought Clive was naked and tied because Cid thought now he knew he was Ifrit he might be a harm to himself until he calmed down. He asked Cid to kill him, without being tied and enraged he could have killed himself with a belt?
No it doesn't for Geralt, if you watch closely Geralt taps his scabbard to jump up before he sheathes it. It's a really cool detail actually, then he sheathes it... In me.
Wouldn’t Final Fantasy X-2 also have more playable female characters than male? As there are only female characters as playable characters? 1:26:42 (Btw loved this video)
Question 14: Which Final Fantasy game is the only one to have more female playable characters than male. Me: Final Fantasy X-2…. ? I mean, it has only female characters. So... Lol that is more technically.

the fact that Ben is ONE OF US makes me love him all the more, god we have been truly blessed
He ain’t gay is he ?
Is he?
Imagining Ben walking down the street carrying a stack of Final Fantasy guides. 😂
He genuinely did! 😅😅
Carry Ben to the top in ffXIV
@@thegamewin100Starr's guide to P12S when??
that's like a parallel to clive wearing all the badges towards the end of the game lol

No no no no, don't put my thirsty fan-girling aside... but yeah, totally agree with you, such a good cast
I could listen to this dude talk about video games for hours. He's been on so many podcasts/shows now and I've loved every one.
he's a gamer through and through!
I knew from other interviews with Ben Starr that he was a trophy hunter but hearing him talk about his recent conquests... what a gamer.
They're not easy games to platinum! I haven't even managed to finish Elden Ring or Returnal XD

Ben Starr was such a great guest, great episode!
Such a good sport👍, SE don't know how lucky they are to have Ben.
100%!
Describing Harpocrates voice as a Werther's Original is hilarious.

So good to hear! What's next on the list for you? There are so many incredible titles in the series.
@@BiggusBennus Once I finish my Final Fantasy Mode play through for the platinum trophy, I’ll either turn my hand to Crisis Core, VIII, or XII.
Ben Starr seems like a great lad. Wish all the best for him.
Still waiting on the quiz redux!
My fav is Clive’s friendship with Gav (the one who has such a nice… backside view). In my own parallel universe, they are of course my eternal ship.

I would marry this man in a heart beat.
The sheer happy puppy energy Ben has is just...I love it.
"No pity....and NO......MERCY!!!!"
That scene sent shockwaves throughout my body!!!!!!

Such a talented actor and such a great human being, I love him so much
Ben's so great and so real in this interview. "More please."
Interview starts at 1:03:40
Remember girls, as Clive said….
“Mine’s bigger”
He was probably naked because the healers needed to treat his wounds. Also for my enjoyment.
this is such a gem LOL great episode!
Thank you so much. Glad you enjoyed!!
Love this podcast!! I watched some episodes and I just feel like I was talking to my friends love the chemistry 😊
Thank you, this comment means so much. ❤️
Ben seems like such a cool guy. I love this game he did a great job. The whole cast did great
the thirst tweets fucking took me out 1:09:13 this one especially holy shit the tears in my eyes
Fun interview. This is my first time watching one of your videos and i think you guys did an excellent job. Definitely subscribing
Thank you so much! We’re bringing back video versions of the podcast from next week. Hope you enjoy!
Is anyone else taking a long time to get through this podcast because they keep stopping to rewind every time Ben says something in Clive's voice?

54:31 I did the same, did it in Bloodborne as well
Subscribed, this was incredible!

Ben is such an incredible talent and quite handsome and well spoken. 😅

Great video and interview! I have subscribed to your channel.
Thank you! Hoping for more interviews with those in the gaming world soon!
We need a link to the one tweet he wouldn't say. For research purposes...
Haha we’ll talk about them on the next podcast. Sorry for the clickbait 😅 (it’ll be at swappingjoysticks.com)
If you find it, let us know!! Lol
Ben is a treasure.
The ending was beautiful.
Question 14: 5 and X-2 😜
Holy CHRIST he's gorgeous
Hottest guy ever plus he loves FF8 ❤ Love him
Oh god, I hope that my comments on Clive made it, but rejected due to how extreme it is. lol
Imagine being a huge fan of ff, they call you to play clive and you're twisted cuz u don't know if you wanted to play the game or live it 😂.
I'd like to ask him if he will play ffxvi in stream or not going to happen because he was there and got spoiled while voice acting.
Not me thinking the answer for the trivia question about more female characters was X-2 😂
oh you're 100% right haha. I think the Q meant to be just the mainline games (no sequels). I'll blame Ed lol
@@BiggusBennus He said spin offs are fair game, so I assumed sequels 🤣
he is so cute
I thought Clive was naked and tied because Cid thought now he knew he was Ifrit he might be a harm to himself until he calmed down. He asked Cid to kill him, without being tied and enraged he could have killed himself with a belt?
Like, as if I needed a reason as to why Clive was butt naked in the prison cell.
Very fair
The thing with sword on the back doesnt matter, good points from Ben tho + the same thing goes for Geralt
No it doesn't for Geralt, if you watch closely Geralt taps his scabbard to jump up before he sheathes it. It's a really cool detail actually, then he sheathes it... In me.
i agree.. 7,8,9 are the best
Wouldn’t Final Fantasy X-2 also have more playable female characters than male? As there are only female characters as playable characters? 1:26:42
(Btw loved this video)
That's what I was thinking.
Should I attempt to get the Platinum trophy? Is it hard? How hard is it?
It's easy actually! There are plenty of assists if you need them too - the second playthrough just takes a bit of time
I really need to know what ia the rest of the tweet that Ben can't say the rest ofand the few last ones :')
for research purposes
Haha here you go! open.spotify.com/episode/4uIY2iR3QMnzBqrGJdzSiD?si=Itbvw9n2S66NT1pJrzY9hw
What was the tweet he didn’t say
We revealed on the latest episode! There were 3 haha - swappingjoysticks.com for the links
So why was he naked in the cell 🤔
Question 14: Which Final Fantasy game is the only one to have more female playable characters than male.
Me: Final Fantasy X-2…. ?
I mean, it has only female characters. So... Lol that is more technically.
True! Ed gets the blame for that Q 😅
Also Lightning Returns?
@@PDSRoxas Ed's banned from writing questions next time
Wouldn’t X-2 have more female than male playable characters?
You’re definitely right. I’ll blame Ed 😅
FF5 has more female too lol
@@garrazm2827 ok next time we’re crowdsourcing questions. The internet is too unreliable 😝
Isn't final fantasy x2 the one with more female playable characters than male?
They're all female yeah, Yuna, Rikku and Payne(?)
That more girls in 5 is wrong. Surely x-2 - 3 women, no guys? 😂
Yeah, I'm wondering if Ed meant to put 'mainline series, not a sequel' in the question XD
are they gay?
The two presenters? Only out of desperation.
@@BiggusBennus🤣🤣🤣
is ben gay?
He isn’t, unfortunately
I knew the Crystal Chronicles answer! Ahh my niche little gamecube game finally pays off!
I’m sure that was the first FF game I finished. Weird considering how many amazing other FF games were out at that time 😅
