I spent the last 3 years or so of my life working on this project and I just wanted to say it's amazing to see the positive reaction from all the fans! ❤ We were a team of over 50 professionals and I’m just pointing out my personal experience! 😊
Anybody who knows me is well aware of how annoyingly passionate I am about Final Fantasy... This series is literally what made me want to become a composer. In that sense, getting to write music for this project was probably one of the biggest highs of my career. And I'm so glad that I got to share that with such a talented team! I hope FFIX fans will find a place for this project in their hearts, just like we at the Memoria Project team did for the past three years. What an incredible journey this has been!
It's been incredibly heartwarming to see all the positive reactions and receive messages from people all around the world. This game holds a special place in our hearts, and I'm grateful that we were able to express our deep admiration through this work. We put all our love and passion into it, and we are immensely grateful to everyone who has taken the time to share kind words. Thank you all so very much! ❤
As I say in the top comment, you can be so proud of all of you. Final Fantasy 9 is the first FF I played, and I fell in love with the series and especially this one. For real, I just cried when I saw what you were doing to this game, graphics, music. We can all see that you put your heart into it, and that you want to make the fans of this wonderful game happy. Once again, well done, be proud of yourself.

This is it. This is exactly what I wanted in a FFIX remake: the character and soul of the game intact, visually improved to better tell the story. The added voice overs were just as I had imagined it as well. As long as the battle system remains the same only with shortened time for turns to begin and it will be nothing short of perfection. I would pay all the moneys if I knew any potential remake would be of this quality.
Honestly. A year ago? Or better yet 5 years ago. I'd say the same. But seeing now FF7Remake and Rebirth and what can actually be accomplished instead? I don't need a screen for screen detail for detail reimagination. We have original for that, with mods it holds up quite well. If they ever go remake route they 100% should go FF7R route. Expand. Improve. Better.
@@ElidanVideos I agree. Its no fun to know what's gonna happen next. I love what FFVII part 1 and part 2 have done even though I enjoyed the original. I hope if they do they expand on it and grow and not just make the same old game
@@ElidanVideos Just gonna have to agree to disagree here. I don't think there is any point in remaking a game if you drastically change the original. At that point you should just make a new IP/game. Don't use a beloved IP just to build artificial hype then change the DNA of that thing until its no longer the same. It's no different that Hollywood continuously remaking old classics and wondering why the shiny reboots aren't as universally loved. Personally I think FF7 Remake went in the wrong direction and Squares recent internal issues prove this. I think it's combat system and ideas would have been better suited for a new IP. They should have followed the Capcom Resident Evil method of remakes which are MUCH more popular than the FF7 remake series has been. Capcom remakes kept old fans and made new ones. Where as the FF7 remake series lost as many old fans as they made new ones. Like it's crazy the difference here. The original FF7 sold 10 million units on PS1 alone. The remake series hasn't even sold that many with TWO games combined and what 50x the development cost? Meanwhile the original Resident Evil 2 only sold 5 million copies on PS1, but the remake sold more than 13 million?! I mean just looking at the gaming landscape today basically all of the most popular and best selling remakes are all faithful ones. The Spyro Trilogy, Resident Evil Remakes, Crashbandicoot, Shadow of the Colossus, Demon souls, Tony Hawk Pro skater, Link's Awakening, Diablo 2 Resurrected, the list goes on. All faithful and selling MORE than their originals. There is really no way to know for sure but I truly believe if they made a FAITHFUL remake in a single game with general quality of life improvements they would have sold WAY more copies. Original fans would have the faithful remake they have wanted and new fans would get to experience one of the best video games ever made with modern graphics and updated QOL features. They also would have saved hundreds of millions of dollars by not having to eat the development cost for 3+ AAA games that aren't gonna make a ROI. Then they could have used the money saved from a 3 part series back into the next mainline series, or on properly remaking FF6, FF8 or FF9. All while doing cool new action combat systems in ff16/17 etc. Make NEW games with these new ideas and keep the old games as accurate as possible. These games were a product of the sum of their parts, they were lightning in a bottle, change enough and they are literally lost and remakes in name only, just expensive empty bottles.
Agreed. This is the kind of remake I would have preferred for FF7. Granted, I haven’t played Rebirth, but I did play Remake and while I liked it, I didn’t love it and just based on Remake, I’d rather just stick to playing the original.
@@ElidanVideosabsolutely disagree, Remake and Rebirth to me are the worst thing to happen in gaming. They completely ruined the memory of FF7 for me, and I consider them blasphemous to one of the greatest games ever made.
I’ve never seen a fan made project have this level of polish where it looks like it could be a real game. The attention to detail and visual fidelity is incredible
Because its not just fans these are actual game devs many who work at actual game dev companies who did it in their free time, i doubt we will ever see anything like this again from "fans"
@@fellito7198 No, I completely agree with this person. This doesn't really capture the original style imo. Which it doesn't need to, it's a fan project, and it's really impressive. But if you for example look at what FFIX looked like in its pre-rendered cutscenes, the style is quite different from this.
Yeah, it's that the character proportions are extremely western in style and very unlike the type of art you'd see from Japanese artists. It's something more like Disney. I do think their environment art is on point, though.
An absolute dream! Thank you to everyone who worked so hard and gave of themselves to make this happen. The love you all poured into this is quite evident. Hopefully this gets you hired wherever your hearts desire!
I want this kind of final fantasy to come back but it’s unfortunate we’ll never get to see this greatness again due to Square Enix being a holes and ruining the franchise😢
Ever since the very first images emerged from this project I've been excited to see the final product and it didn't disappoint. Truly amazing work from Dan and the team, what a treat for fans of the game. Really appreciate everyone's work on this, the passion really shows through :)
Maaaaaaaany, many many many many moons ago (like over a decade?), I subscribed to your channel. I think at the time, you only had about maybe a couple thousand followers or so but I had found someone with as much passion for FFX as I had and it really excited me to be able to experience it all over again with you. Over the course of watching you play other games, I don't even know how many times I recommended you played both FF9 and Undertale. I think every new series you started, I bothered you about it. Then after maybe two or three years, you finally announced you were going to play MY favorite FF in the series (FF9). I was genuinely so excited to see you play through it and hear your thoughts on everything and man, it's crazy how full circle everything has come. I sincerely hope that this is something that gets picked up by SE, but I just wanted to tell you thank you for allowing me to experience FF9 for the first time again through your eyes. I'm sure that all the Let's Plays of this game on TH-cam also, in some way, contributed to people realizing how much people adored and cared for this game, even now, and that there IS a market out there for more FF9 content. Haven't been back to your channel in a bit (just been very busy) but as soon as I caught wind of this, I came straight to it. Nice to see you're still active and making content. Best wishes to you, Berk! 💜
The first second I played the original, I was hooked. Even the cutscenes are breath-taking to this day. It's the best RPG I have ever played and will always remember.

I am VERY impressed by every one of you who made this, everything is flawless. Honesty Squareenix had better just pay you all to finish the rest of it instead of trying to make their own FF9 remake, they're not going to beat this and honestly I don't think they would do as good a job as this.
As an OG fan of FF9, I salute you and your team for creating such a thing. Know that, no matter how the project turns out, you have my utmost respect for keeping the memory of this incredible game alive 😊
Yes, staying faithful to the original game while adding necessary spices is so awesome. I still can't believe how much hard work is necessary for this project. Vivi's voice actor is exactly what I imagined 23 years ago!
I'm Japanese. This is my favorite series, and I was totally impressed by your work. If I played this, I never go out from such a beautiful Alexandoria. lol
The attention to detail to the original work is breathtakingly accurate. This is what every fan of FFIX would want a remake to look like. Incredible work, pay attention Square!
Thank you guys so much for the chance to voice in this! FF9 is one of my favorite games, and the chance to bring the Kingdom of Alexandria to life means more than you could ever imagine.
You nailed the vibe. When Vivi hugs the chocobo, and then later on when he squeezes the plushie close to him … when I say I had a tear in my eye and sniffled. For real. Fantastic job.
Years later and FF9 is still my fave from the saga. I was craving for a remake until I found out about this project. It's SO PRETTY! How I wish to see the whole game just like this, its perfect! Amazing job to the team (:
What I liked about ff9 or 7 was the semi-aerial view, the remakes should simply have been a graphical patch and not these new versions of square enix which have nothing to do and look more like FF10 which created this break.
dude this is the perfect example of a remake! Square please don’t mess this game up like you did FF7R! They literally ruined one of my favorite games of all time by making it kingdom of hearts. please don’t mess up FF9. Square take notes from this!!! This is what we need not a kingdom of hearts! please just remake the game 1:1 this game doesn’t need to add or subtract anything. please do this for the real OG fans!
yeah I never was able to imagine what this game would look like if it was remade, as the style isn't so easy to imagine in a modern way, but this is exactly the way I never knew I always wanted it to look like. Everything is 100% spot on, I'm blown away. I can't see even SE doing better, it's perfect.
Same a good 40 or so bucks! Especially if they added actually voices although they likely would not be able to make renaming characters a thing anymore
@@Rogue615 I don’t think it will unless Square Enix agreed to letting them make it or hired them or whatever. It’s just t show what it would look like if it was remade. It looks amazingly good don’t get me wrong, but as soon as I saw it was just like a love letter/passion project I lost a lot of interest. The dream scenario would be that Square Enix sees the hype and lets them remake it or makes a remake themselves. Either way we still have the original version of the game so that’s always good.
@@imagine9283 Well. at least we have a lil hope. They remade 7 and 1 (kinda) so I guuueeess there is a small percentage they could remaster at least or remake this one. That one is so charming and just awesome. I just love the lil mage dude lol
@@NishiAAAddiction Changing FF7 story line is the reason I won't buy the next installment of the game until well after it comes out. I'm not giving my money for that trash. The proper way to do it if you wanted to reimagine the game is to do what Resident Evil 4 Remake did. It's fine to change or add stuff, but keep the same story, jeez.
The squaresoft that made this game no longer exists. I'd rather remember the game as it was than for all of my fond memories to be replaced with a soulless corporate facsimile.
IX is my favorite FF. This is such a beautiful work of art. Anyone who worked to make this should feel so proud of themselves and the effort they put in. I can’t overstate how lovely this is.
FFIX was a masterpiece, because of PS2's release it didn't get the recognition it deserved at the time. It's amazing to see this beautiful reimaging, the amount of effort you put into it and the passion that you have for this project.

I remember seeing FF9 when it first came out and thinking "The characters look weird, so I'm not going to play it" then years later, I decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did because it ended up being an excellent game.
This is EXACTLY what the fans want when we see or hear the word "remake". You've captured the heart and soul of the game and kept the art style true. You remade the pre rendered backgrounds into a 3D format wonderfully and I love that in the Inn it's the exact same camera angle as the OG. If Squex haven't already secretly hired you for remaking this they ought to, or at the very least, take notes. Honestly I'm teary eyed.
Damn this is a masterclass in proper game design, voice acting, visual detailing, sound design, and over all exactly what people have always wanted with a Final Fantasy Remake. This is beyond amazing work for such a small team and I would love it if this were the direction the actual remake took!!!!!
What a ridiculous thing to say. Read it back to yourself, bearing in mind you life in the 21st century in a world crippled by greedy corporations, get-rich-quick decisions, lazy writing and focus on short-term high-volume profits, micro transactions, and empty-headed customer bases raised in a society of convenience, fostered to develop low standards and short attention spans. Seriously.
@@MoonshineSazerac ye, exactly this. But let's keep fingers crossed the project can be completed without any lawsuits so we can all enjoy a promising remake
@@MoonshineSazerac Well! you can't blame me for having wishful thinking here, right??? Wouldn't be dream come true if a real full remake look as good as this???
Two and a half decades, multiple playthroughs later, this game is etched to my dna at this point. It is my all time favorite FF and will continue to be forever. I can't find worthy words to praise the people that created this. You deserve a world of success and happiness in your lives. Such a huge undertaking for literally zero profit, only funded from the love we all share for this gem is mindblowing. The rush of emotions in this half hour was immense. This sadly also creates expectations that will be really hard to be met. Nevertheless you paved the way for SquareEnix to see how much a new FF9 is wanted beautifully, we can only help elevate this love letter by pouring our own love into it. 💗💗💓❤
As a HUGE FF Fan, you guys have done this absolute justice and service. FFIX brings back so many memories for me, especially when my Dad used to watch me play and ask me non-stop questions lol now that he has passed away, i feel this is almost a love letter to him aswell - someone that never played the games but shared memories of them with family and friends. Thank you to everyone in your team that made this dream one step closer to becoming a reality. What a masterpiece.
That's so cool to hear about man. I'm bettin your dad really cared about you and it's awesome that he showed such interest in a game you played and loved.
This is absolutely incredible! You can tell how much love has gone into this. It takes me back to my first time playing FFIX when it came out and how mesmerised I was. You recreated the characters and Alexandria beautifully, and I really love the little extras and changes, such as the statues and the plushies (so cute)! You all did such an amazing job and it was a joy to watch from start to finish. ❤
I’m genuinely speechless. This is absolutely stunning. FF9 is the final fantasy for me. I love 7 and quite enjoyed 15 but my childhood was built around FF9 so to see it look like this, with voice actors. Just incredible.
This still gets me everytime. I love Vivi. Final Fantasy IX were part of my childhood and it was fun playing the whole game. After I finished it, I thought Vivi had "kids" and he was there also...as I got older and realized what really happened, I was so devastated. But anyway, loved Vivi more ever since to this day. Thank you for bringing everything into this project and wishing you the best of luck! Would definitely be looking forward to see more.
@@christophcookit6334 Huh? Hardly even sounds like Kath Soucie in this fan demo. Tbh the person voicing Vivi is really good, surpassing Soucie, who was just using her generic Phil and Lil voice from Rugrats.
This looked, sounded, and felt perfect. An amazing amount of love and effort clearly went into this project and it shows in every detail. Thank you all so much for this.
I have no words. How did I not know about this? This is EVERYTHING. All the details, the love, the music, I'm truly speechless. Thank you so much for giving FFIX the love it deserves
This is, without a doubt, one of the most elegant captures of love of a creation and dedication to it existing as something remarkable I have ever seen. This team is a collection of masters of their craft. And Square could learn billions of dollars worth of lessons from this small and dedicated team. Just having this demo exist is a precious gift to my inner child. And a game worth dreaming about existing. Thank you for this.
The work done here is fabulous. But saying SE has lessons to learn, is vastly overrated. I see it a lot in every comments here, but people don't realize how it really works. It took more than 2 years to this 50+ pro team to make this demo (not full time job of course). They created a heartly remake of Alexandria, with a lot of work into details. It was their goal, to focus on one part of the game and put as much effort as possible into it. If you play the full game, this remaked version is 20mn out of 40 hours (chill) of gameplay. It gives you some details about the whole project and the scope of a real game. It is also only a small part of the gameplay system shown here. There is something not really shown here, that is as much important as the rest, it's ressource management. I believe, as it was a passion project, they was pretty free to do what they love and attached tremendous details to the place. In real world project, if the goal was to remake the whole game, you can't do that, at least not as much. This is what is separating this passion project from a real project. Ressource management here would have been : - Spending less time on some minor NPCs, more time on major NPCs (only those we see on close camera during cutscenes) - Either less detailed area in full 3D, or using fixed camera from the top to work only on visible details and save time - Trying to get a more global overview of the project to ensure a constant quality through the whole game You can easily see that by the team proportion at the end. Most of them are artists, there is very few technical engineers, because this project is a visual showcase before being a game. To summerize, this project is of course incredible, no word on that, but it's not a game, and not a full game like SE would have to do for a remake. Todays expectations of people are unreal, mostly because of video showcase and proof of concepts. Once you have to turn all of this into a real game project, people are disappointed by the final product. This project captured almost perfectly the essence of our love for this game, but this project is not made to be a game, it's a showcase of our expectations in a perfect world where SE could redo this game with infinite time (or people) and budget. PS : Special greeting to the UI/UIX Artists, the job was perfectly done.
Super excited for you guys. This project is the biggest love letter to Final Fantasy. I will be watching this everyday for the rest of my life now thank you
I’m seriously fighting the urge to go full hyperbolic and declare this to be my favorite video I’ve ever seen on TH-cam. I got full body goosebumps 15 seconds in and they didn’t go away the entire time. Amazing work. I really hope someone at Square sees this and not only does exactly what your team has done but scoops the lot of you up to help. I’m stunned.
This is truly incredible! The amount of work you all have put into this demo is simply astounding. It's evident that your deep love and admiration for the original game drove you to create this project. I sincerely hope that Square Enix recognizes and appreciates your efforts, you definitely deserve it. Congratulations! 💙
I never knew I needed to see Vivi pet a chocobo so much until now. Your team has done an incredible job on all fronts. I love the aesthetic too! Congrats! The easter eggs are amazing too.
This legitimately made me emotional! FF9 is one of my all time favorites and will forever stay that way. you guys did such an amazing job, I love you so much and wish you the best with this project.
As someone obsessed with FF9, I think your work captured the spirit of this beautiful game. I can see the time put in to respect every little details, and the things you added fit perfectly in Alexandria. The art style is incredible, and I love the voice over. I'd wander in the town for hours if I could play this demo. Great work everybody, keep it going ! ❤
Holy shit this is INCREDIBLE! I'm in love with this! it's exactly how I imagined a remake would look and the voice acting is perfect. Sarah Daniels as Vivi NAILED IT! Exactly how i imagine vivi in my head!!!! I wish this could be a full playable remake
FFIX has always been my favourite entry, so glad to see this project is continuing and making amazing progress. Just noticed something though, when Vivi talks to the nobleman who remarks about watching paint dry, the text box for Vivi has his name, but the character info bar in the bottom right has him named Pointy-Hat Boy because we (the player) haven't been properly introduced to Vivi yet.
I literally cried at this, I can't even wait until the remake when Square eventually gets to it. FFIX is my absolute favorite one out of the series.. Amazing, wonderful job to everyone who worked on this!
This was amazing! You stuck to the style of ff9 and even added some Easter eggs, and the VA’s fit so well on all of the characters! Amazing job! Magnificent!
Thank you for all the effort you people put into making this. It's really amazing to see a piece of my childhood brought to life like that so faithfully.
I'm amazed by every single aspect of this! The music, the voice acting, the colourful art, the added details and dialogue that enhance and blend seamlessly into the original context. It must have been a labour of extreme love! Edit: Who knew Vivi was a master pianist?
OMG! This is so incredibly amazing! This is the only remake I have ever wanted. This game had a huge impact on me emotionally when I was young and to this day it remains my all time favourite game. Just watching this brought back all those wonderful memories and feelings and brought a tear to me eye. I really hope this becomes a reality, it would be a dream come true!
FFIX was my favourite. I played it when I was 11 years old. Seeing this has just brought back so many memories, but seeing it like this made it so fresh too. I would pay to play this! Amazing work
5 minutes in and I’m just awestruck. Your guys ability to capture the charm& aesthetic, and convert the characters and world with so much love, is flawless. This makes me fear the official FFIX remake isn’t real, cause they should be trying to get you all on the team by now. Thank you all for putting in the work that you have. This deserves so much love!
I hope this wonderful project could be a clear message to Square that ff9 is still loved even though it's already released 23 years ago. Hopefully Square would consider hiring this team or even buying this project to continue our awesome journey together so that the team's hard work would be paid off
so much to say about this. I’ll just start simply with this. this is incredibly amazing. Thank you all you talented individuals who created this and thank you to us Vans for being so supportive of this project to see it to its completion. It makes me so proud, and so incredibly happy to be a part of such a fandom as ours. I love all the Easter eggs, but the BGM tracks being played on the piano by Vivi really take me back. Thank you so much again to all of you, the fans and the talent.
A huge THANK YOU to all the team for this amazing fan-made remake ! ❤ You are very talented. What a pleasure to listen to these songs, to see the Mogs, Chocobos and all the species of this game. Vivi has finally a voice and Alexandria is beautiful. Amazing work, congratulations 🎉

I don’t understand why developers don’t reach out and hire these people that work on these passion projects. Give them a team and resources. Look what they did without proper backing. If I were a games studio, these are the people I’d be looking to hire.
I would give ANYTHING for this game to be remade & remastered like this. 😭 I cried a little when Vivi pet the Chocobo and played the piano 🎹. You guys did an INCREDIBLE job & I hope this launches you into other bigger projects in the future. Much love & appreciation. 🫶🏽🙌🏽
The music is fantastically remastered and remade. The music transitions from outdoors to indoors, from day to night, so brilliant. If Square put just a fraction of the effort into a remake, they would have a masterpiece
This feels so alive and unique, yet it seems like it's just like the original in a way. Truly amazing, if SE just founded you to build this I'd buy it on day 1.
I want this as a playable game so bad, This was gorgeous and just did this masterpiece justice. Wonderful job to all involved!!! You can tell you all loved this game so much!!
FFIX holds a special place in my heart and seeing it reimagined like this is truly magical! Outstanding work from the whole team from design to production to the soundtrack and sound design. Everything about it is perfection and the team should be super proud! 😁
I STARTED CRYING WHEN I SAW VIVI RUN AROUND IN ALEXANDRIA! IT FELT SO FAMILIAR AND YET SO NEW! THIS IS WHAT A REMAKE SHOULD FEEL LIKE! THE MUSIC WAS ALSO A LOVELY MIX AND I LOVE ALL THE NEW TOUCHES YOU ALL PUT IN LIKE VOICED NPC DIALOGUE, UNIQUE CHARACTER INTERACTIONS TO FIELD ITEMS, ITEMS YOU CAN PICK UP THAT ARE VISIBLE ON THE MAP, AND JUMPING!!!! BLESS EVERYONE WHO WORKED ON THE MEMORIA PROJECT!!!!
FF IX is not only my favourite entry in the franchise but also one of my favourite games of all time. There's a lot of memories attached to this game both in the game and IRL. What you guys have done is truly breathtaking and so faithful to the original while also adding so much more to it. As others have said it's literally how we envisioned the game would look and feel in such a setting. Even if this never gets finished or a playable release (though we'd hope Square would take some cues from this even though we know they won't cause they don't care anymore) what you've accomplished has sated every dream of anyone who has ever played and enjoyed this game. There are not enough thanks in the world to show appreciated ❤️
I can't believe how well this team nailed every aspect. Voice acting, the color palette, the overall tone. The character models for even the b and c list NPC's are absolutely spot on. The font choice for dialogue. The thoughtful choice to use original camera angles for indoor areas. Adding a jump function I think is an excellent addition. The lighting choices down the streets at night are subtle and excellently placed. Whomever did the stain glass work in the chapel. Absolutely beautiful work. Thank you for sharing and the love poured into this.
Guys... I literally cried, this is part of my childhood, is one of the best games that i played ever. i hope this remade could be playable in the future.
It took me watching about half of this before I realized something: you guys had to create "backsides" to all the prerendered camera angles, and what you had created was so fitting that I didn't even notice at first! Usually UE5 remakes are pretty trash and are just practice projects for those working on them but this was something special.
So beautiful. I get emotional seeing these. The amount of work and dedication that goes into this project is amazing! The memories of my teenage self playing ff9 on PS1 came flooding back in.
This is honestly one of the best things that has ever happened in the past few years! Thank you for all your hard work and thank you Memoria Project 💜💜💜💜
The Chocobos look way adorable in this. Everything looks quite warm and inviting the way you remade it. The voice acting is also a cool touch. Great job!

This was dripping with so much charm and personality. If it gets announced this week, I hope that the remake is some approximation to this kind of style.
@@per-torereiniurfjell5424 Lots of rumours rolling around concerning potential announcement this week during Summer Game Fest (which is today). Just a rumour, but there are a loooot of sources saying it's coming.
This game was my childhood. I have so many fond memories of it and gladly return to it every now and then. Thank you so much for making this, honoring the opening story, art and music. It's truly a Place to call Home!
Stunning, absolutely amazing. And you gave Vivi a voice which fit him so well! Truly a passion project that puts all other passion projects to shame. I'm glad we got this, although of course I want more.
Honestly the fact that you created all these assets and remaster music for the game, as well as animations, UI, etc. such a great work!! I don’t think any current AAA dev could do any better. I don’t know why you don’t work on an original adventure game with traversal and basic puzzle solving, kinda like ICO, The Last Guardian inspired, etc. I used to love those types of games.
I spent the last 3 years or so of my life working on this project and I just wanted to say it's amazing to see the positive reaction from all the fans! ❤ We were a team of over 50 professionals and I’m just pointing out my personal experience! 😊
This is how I always wanted a remake, just Pixar quality graphics
And we're hungry for more. Please tell us there's more!
Thank you for your time, effort and passion! This is perfection! ❤

Thank brother you guys awesome
Anybody who knows me is well aware of how annoyingly passionate I am about Final Fantasy... This series is literally what made me want to become a composer.
In that sense, getting to write music for this project was probably one of the biggest highs of my career.
And I'm so glad that I got to share that with such a talented team!
I hope FFIX fans will find a place for this project in their hearts, just like we at the Memoria Project team did for the past three years.
What an incredible journey this has been!
Will you make a video about how you did the music?
Music sounds amazing!!
The music was fantastic, gave me the feels. Especially the piano version of Under The Stars, my fav FF.
I think it's found a place, yes. You guys brought the game to life in a way I've only ever imagined before, it was wonderful
Great work man…the music at the end gave me the same chills I had the 1st time I finished a final fantasy game. Congratulations!

Amazing work! This was my first Final Fantasy. Just saw your name scroll by as the Concept Artist. Great job!!
Can't thumbs up this video enough! I look forward to what you all do next!
Expand. Improve. Better.
@@ElidanVideos
I agree.

It’s awesome but a bit too cartoony in my opinion. I hope the actual remake is a bit grittier and less Disney like.
@@ItsSVO dont play ff9 so, the style is just perfect
@@fellito7198 No, I completely agree with this person. This doesn't really capture the original style imo. Which it doesn't need to, it's a fan project, and it's really impressive. But if you for example look at what FFIX looked like in its pre-rendered cutscenes, the style is quite different from this.
Yeah, it's that the character proportions are extremely western in style and very unlike the type of art you'd see from Japanese artists. It's something more like Disney. I do think their environment art is on point, though.
amazing!!!
An absolute dream! Thank you to everyone who worked so hard and gave of themselves to make this happen. The love you all poured into this is quite evident. Hopefully this gets you hired wherever your hearts desire!
Seeing Vivi in this setting, with this quality got me teary-eyed. Vivi is *by far* one of my favourite game-characters ever.

It looks fantasic!
I wish someone would take this whole system and aesthetic and make Final Fantasy 1 in it.
Same this is how 10 year old me imagined it like. How those cutscenes are now a reality in real time now.

What I liked about ff9 or 7 was the semi-aerial view, the remakes should simply have been a graphical patch and not these new versions of square enix which have nothing to do and look more like FF10 which created this break.

Ressource management here would have been :
- Spending less time on some minor NPCs, more time on major NPCs (only those we see on close camera during cutscenes)
- Either less detailed area in full 3D, or using fixed camera from the top to work only on visible details and save time
- Trying to get a more global overview of the project to ensure a constant quality through the whole game
You can easily see that by the team proportion at the end.

100って数字はとか先入観やべえやつが返信しとるやないか。きっと、こういうやつが本物の連続刺傷事件の動画とか見ても「perf」って一番乗りに言っちゃう残念なタイプなんだろうな。
I literally cried at this, I can't even wait until the remake when Square eventually gets to it. FFIX is my absolute favorite one out of the series.. Amazing, wonderful job to everyone who worked on this!
Dont expect something similar as good as this from Squareenix
Yeah careful what you wish for there...
They might remake 9 but it'll be split into 22 parts and be redone as an SRPG/FPS hybrid with rhythm elements.
A true act of love to FFIX. Can't get better than this. The art is wonderful, the music perfect... everything screams perfection.
So do i 😢
FFIX was my favourite.
You outdid yourselves, guys. This is utterly a work of art, and a love letter, to something we care so much about. Thank you so so so so so much!!
This is magnificent! I'm replaying FFIX again for the fourth time, and man... How would I love to see this project of yours on my console
Quiet literally the greatest fan made project that has ever existed. I'm speechless. 🎉
He Holds the Missing Piece
So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord-who is the Spirit-makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.
(2 Corinthians 3:18)
But God had a different plan for my life. And who knows what kind of plan He has for you?
Maybe you have tried to get your life together. Maybe you’re still searching for answers. You’ve been trying to fill the void in your life with anything and everything, but nothing satisfies.
God holds the missing piece. You won’t find it in your pursuits or in anything this world has to offer. But you will find it in a relationship with God. The missing piece is a relationship with Him through Jesus Christ. And He will change you from the inside out.
This is absolutely incredible. I would pay so much money to play this. God I wish this is the direction square Enix would take with their remakes!!!
I hope they're applying the same direction with the upcoming ff9 animated series!!!
Square Enix would make so much money with something like this. Thanks for bringing one of my favorite games to life.
Why give SE the money... the Devs who made this deserve all the money
They’d turn it into some action rpg with no soul
FFIX already is a thing - so not sure what you mean by bringing it to life. You can literally play the real game right now.
@@kgisabeast Yep. Just like FF7RE. Such a waste.
i add a long speech (in FR sorry) in that sence ^^
Grenat is equal as any Disney story ^^
This feels so alive and unique, yet it seems like it's just like the original in a way. Truly amazing, if SE just founded you to build this I'd buy it on day 1.
I want this as a playable game so bad, This was gorgeous and just did this masterpiece justice. Wonderful job to all involved!!! You can tell you all loved this game so much!!
FFIX holds a special place in my heart and seeing it reimagined like this is truly magical! Outstanding work from the whole team from design to production to the soundtrack and sound design. Everything about it is perfection and the team should be super proud! 😁
3 years of your life for a proof of concept? That sounds crazy. So much dedication
Yeah I'm crying. This was absolutely magnificent. FF9 means a lot to me. You guys made magic happen
Wow, thank you so much to everyone who worked on this. What a treat for us!!! I hope Square is watching your hard work.
I hope they not. I mean all the legal issue this might cause. Hope it won't be taken down
I REALLY hope they're not.
If they're watching they're likely doing so with cease and desist order in hand lol. Hopefully they leave this one be
It’s quite the opposite
I audibly gasped when it switched to the night lighting and music. So cool!
3:52 dawwww Best demo ever, 10/10, demo of the year! Square hire this man NOW!!!
This is honestly one of the best things that has ever happened in the past few years! Thank you for all your hard work and thank you Memoria Project 💜💜💜💜
I rarely comment anything but what a majestic work of art! Congrats! I wish the SE team would see this and fund you ! Bravi!
The Chocobos look way adorable in this. Everything looks quite warm and inviting the way you remade it. The voice acting is also a cool touch. Great job!
The amount of easter eggs and references to other Final Fantasies, seamlessly sprinkled allover are brilliant!
A few little details
The Ozma Orb
The weapons shop with modeled weapons from the game (Butterfly Knife, Dagger, Mage Staff, Iron Sword, Broadsword)
The Magus Sisters
A rack of Yan horns
That's a 'new' Tetra Master card
The steeple's stained glass windows are landmarks in the game:
Oelvert (featuring Two Moons, representing both Gaia and Terra's celestial bodies)
Memoria - 'Birth'
Iifa (not Lifa) Tree
Alexandria Castle (embossed with Alexander)
The Buster Sword
At 19:59 I hear a motif from One-Winged Angel in the clarinet, and I didn't notice it anywhere else in the video... am I crazy?? Does it just come in because the Buster Sword is nearby?
@@a3wagner Around the one winged google plushie!
I had to put my reading glasses on, since some the text was a bit small. Other than that, this is fantastic work for such a small team! I really hope this becomes a reality!
Beyond impressive, top notch quality in every aspect. Vivi’s voice actor was perfectly cast too, I loved it.
This was dripping with so much charm and personality. If it gets announced this week, I hope that the remake is some approximation to this kind of style.
Getting announced? Where?
I don't trust squareenix with it especially after FF7 remake. I think they should work together with this team to do it.
@@per-torereiniurfjell5424 Lots of rumours rolling around concerning potential announcement this week during Summer Game Fest (which is today). Just a rumour, but there are a loooot of sources saying it's coming.
If Square Enix would ever decide to do a remake and it would look remotely like this, I would definitely buy. It looks great!
This is the perfect vision of a remake.. The music!! The visuals!!, even the addition of fully voiced characters is amazing
It's so beautiful. Thank you to everyone that contributed their time and effort to make this 👑
This game was my childhood. I have so many fond memories of it and gladly return to it every now and then. Thank you so much for making this, honoring the opening story, art and music. It's truly a Place to call Home!
So glad we shared that magical moment of our childhood, best FF ever made.
