    This is absolutely my favorite version of the BMW 3/4 line...on the road, seeing it in person, it is soooo sharp!

    I have the 430d - 3 litre, 6 cylinder 254bhp = 5.4s 0-60mph. Nice car to cruise along in. Sounds great, despite being a diesel. Torque is off the scale, instant power and carries a full car flawlessly. It's very economical too. I think it's the best in economy vs performance whereas the 20d engine is a little conservative.
    I've driven manuals all my life and think the auto is perfect for the diesel (low down power, gearing ratios etc). I do lots of motorway/highway miles so an auto box is better.

    Oh the Germans... Made a four door version of their two door version of their four door car.

      +nickolastiguan 3-Series => 4-Series => 4-Series Gran Coupe? German logic

      I doubt the 4-series was meant as a 2-door coupe primarily. From the get-go a 4-doors Gran Coupe was planned. The reviewer, Brian Chow, was a bit off by saying that the even numbers are primarily/originally 2-door cars. The 4 and the 6-series compete with the other German [gran] coupes, i.e. uneven numbers of Audi and the (gran) coupe versions of Mercedes.

    Man...if BMW ever going to redo the interior? starting to look really dated. Only thing holding me off from getting one.

      4 years later and nothing happened. i still like it, but the gear knob on the manual version looks pretty outdated to me. in comparison the automatic knob looks pretty good

    video especially review video is all about pace. Zack handles his pace really well but other hosts tend to throw everything at the audience. Which became hard to digest and does not give you a sense of the product. that being said... I still think it is a good idea to have others on the channel from a long term perspective.

  • @jamesFong
    @jamesFong 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Your San Franciscan viewer does miss his regular Canadian motoring journalist! As far as the car goes, BMW is trying hard to get into every niche market and in some cases creating new markets. I like the idea of this grand coupe as it reminds me of a baby version of my F80 M3.

    Zack, your reviews are much more informative. I've watched several "reviews" that were completed by Brian on this channel and Driving Television. I find them to be more of a commercial where the features are listed versus a review of the pros and cons.
    More zack. Less others. Here and on driving television for that matter.

      Completely agree. David loves everything he drives. He just keeps making excuses for any shirtcomings in his reviews and feels more like a PR for BMW than a reviewer. I miss Zach

    • @FasterThanSoup
      @FasterThanSoup 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm starting to agree. I just watched him (Brian) do the review of the same car (on Everyday Car Reviews) and while alright, it wasn't outstanding.
      I just prefer Zach's more polished delivery and voice. It's simply more clear, assertive and therefore more convincing. Even when I don't agree with his opinions, I can see his position, I'm more apt to accept them and move on.
      I respect both, but for years Zach has had a seemingly natural formula for; a succinct presentation style that includes informed opinion, an obvious structure to disseminating it along with the car facts, and projecting in manner that holds your attention (even when cohosting Watchya-ma-call-it with What's-her-face).
      To me, these are the things that set Zach apart. There is Motorweek, but I always feel like that dude is yelling at me and it doesn't necessarily reflect a Canadian perspective (as minor as they may be). Brian missed a slight opportunity here in that respect to expand on wagons/hatchbacks that Canadians seem to favour more than their American consumer counterparts.
      Furthermore, while I don't mind knowing 0 to 60 times and slalom handling, I've never once missed it with Motormouth Canada. I know Motorweek or Motoring 2016 (Canadian) can supply that.
      I guess that may be another feature of Canadian culture. While we also have gearheads, ricers, petrolheads, etc., I believe most are meeting their thresholds for speed, handling, safety, luxury, reliability, etc. with the vast range of offerings now available. Sounds like Canadians are boring? Maybe, but Zach's style isn't and he's an asset to the assortment of hosts on TH-cam.
      This gushy testimonial was not sponsored by Motormouth.ca or Zach Spencer, although I'd be cool with a quick ride along the next time you cruise through Streetsville :D

      +FasterThanSoup Thanks for the kind words. Brian is a good friend and we have worked together for almost 15 years, so he will be here from time to time. I'm hoping to build the channel and he is a good resource to have. I'm glad you like the way I do things, it might be the many years of radio and TV hosting that help! Anyway, keep watching.

    Real estate agents might consider the 335 GT, until they drop this body style on the GT’s long wheelbase platform then you might be just that little bit closer to the optimum.

    I wish the world would accept manual transmissions. Society is becoming so lazy.

    • @mykullee
      @mykullee 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +chris s (christo351) That too, but nowadays, automatics have come so far that they tend to give best 0-60, best fuel economy, and best comfort (as in smooth shifting). Sure manuals are great, but people in Gen. Z tend to be taught to drive solely on automatics... meaning not many people know how to drive one. I'm 18, and I learned how to drive one via TH-cam tutorials, because not even my parents knew how to drive one.

    • @alansmilealot
      @alansmilealot 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree, I love to shift cuz its entertaining and I had a few autos that started to slip on me before, so I decided to learn how to drive manual. I'm in Atlanta where traffic can be a pain, so I can understand how some people can feel about doing that in bumper to bumper. but all traffic. ducks no matter what you drive, and alone cars have lighter. clutches so it's not much of a workout
