In 2009, I came home from a deployment and my oldest son, who was 3 or 4 at the time, wouldn’t eat for almost 2 weeks...
Being a father I was obviously concerned, so I asked him about it and his answer really hit me hard… He said, “Dad, if I eat I’ll grow up and if I grow up I’ll become a daddy.
And if I become a daddy, I’ll have to leave my family.” My boys barely knew who I was and I couldn’t let them grow up without a father...
I realized at that moment my family needed me a lot more than the Navy needed another SEAL. So I put in for retirement the next day…
Back then I knew I wanted to be with my family more than anything, so I made changes in my life that allowed me to be at home.
We all want more time to spend with the people we love or doing the things we love. That’s why I’m here to help!

Also lubricating eye drops help. I take meds that really dry my eyes out. It’s amazing when your eyes are blurry how quickly they clear up when they’re wet. An ophthalmologist told my husband about this.
I’ll have to try the warm water.

I really like the scientific approach. Any tipps? I have -10 dioptries short sighted on both eyes. I'm just a fun/hobby shooter. Guns with scopes work fine but I really have troubles with iron sights. I recently bought a Browning BL-22 repeater for plinking and the small iron sights are giving me troubles. I don't want to fit a scope on it - I like the look of a lever gun without scopes. Replacement fiber optic sights are impossible to get here in Austria and I can't get any decent groups. A red dot is no viable option - I have astigmatism too and so I don't see a sharp red dot, only a cloudy mass of red fluffy light... Difficult I guess...

warm water in the morning is a good way to prevent dryness throughout the day. But as far as eye exercises, they don't really work. If you can't see something then you should probably just start with vision correction.

fascinating advice. i have read elsewhere that it's believed frequent wearing of sunglasses does negatively impact vision.

Hey Chris, I just recently found your channel and it is super helpful. I have a quick question on how to help my vision. I have just started (with your help) focusing on the front sight. However, i cant hit anything doing that. When I focus on the front sight, truly focus, my target does two things. First it becomes so blurry I cant tell what it is and my target triples. I see three of the target and no matter which one I focus on I never hit center mass because im all out of focus. Im guessing my vision is really bad, but when I shoot with both eyes open but focus on target I hit the target. Thank you for your help and all that you do!

I'm a 51 year old with 30 years of IT (staring at screens for 30 years) and my eyes are screwed. I wear reading glass for close distance and when shooting, distance glasses. I will try your exercises but doubt very much I'm going to have crystal clear vision doing these exercises. Any tips?

  • @fredmcdougal509

Hey Chris, thanks for the video. You should note to your viewers that in order to do those eye exercises, one should wear their best visual correction at distance. There's no way in the world somebody with 20/400 uncorrected distance is going to see a distance object "clear". These exercises also will not improve uncorrected vision unless your a 45 yo fighter pilot trying to eek out 20/20 vision at 16" at the flight surgeon's office !! They try real hard not to have to wear glasses at all. LOL!!

I did some of this for baseball. MLB baseball players generally have better eye sight than your average person because they are always training their eyes.

I would imagine that all the aborigines that were susceptible to strong sunlight died out some time in the last 30,000 years due to natural selection. Europeans haven't been exposed to that kind of selective pressure so it might not be a smart move to spend too long in the sun if you've got light eyes and skin...

    Green smoothies (spinach; kale; etc.).
    Good for eyesight??
Yeah, right along with your meditation.
    BS. Show my your science.

    • @lonestarpatriot876
      @lonestarpatriot876 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Show us the science that says he is wrong. There is always that guy who has to be negative and that guy is you. I will spell it out for you. Dark green leafy vegetables such as Spinach and Kale contain Lutein and Zeaxanthin which absorb blue light and blue light is bad for your eyes as they are also antioxidants. Eating dark leafy greens also helps you to see contrast better. And, eating these greens can not only improve your vision but also help maintain your vision long term. I would love to also address your meditation thoughts but it is obvious you have no interest in learning so why waste the time. And this is why CS has not answered you.
