I was raised in the 1950s and was always taught to grease the pan with butter or Crisco then coat with flour. I don’t think I even heard of parchment paper or silicone mats until the last ten years or so.
Really great and concise video to hit the main points quickly. Thank you!
Hi can we use butter paper for making fudge brownies?
aluminum foil will leech aluminum into your food, poison. Just fyi :D Idk about silicone though that seems proper and affordable. Coconut is the king of lubing, if worried about the saturated fat hardening, pay the extra for MCT i guess.
Just sharing what i know as well.
Bit of a private question but i got a recently pregnant vibe from you. Good guess?
I never cook with alu foil - risk for alzheimer and cancer....I use this foil only for COLD food
Silicone in parchment isn't any safer.
What about using glassware? It's already non-stick, isn't it?
Perhaps some is? I haven't noticed that mine is completely non-stick - I would grease a glass loaf pan before baking bread in it personally.

Is silicon not toxic at all?
It's kind of a matter of opinion, it seems. If you get good quality silicone, I consider it safe. Lower quality, I would personally be wary of for baking/cooking.
@@ButteredSideUp Silicon is your cells, so yes it is non toxic.
"Silicon is as an essential trace element in animal nutrition. Its regular flow is absolutely necessary for normal body functioning. Lymph nodes and thyroid gland are the leaders in the silicon content. Then follow the connective tissue of the aorta and trachea, tendons, nerves, pituitary gland, bone, and hair respectively. Silicon promotes collagen biosynthesis and is involved in the metabolism of 70 minerals and vitamins, lipid metabolism, and in maintaining its balance with calcium as well. In case of silicon deficiency the calcination of tissues takes place: tissues lose their firmness and elasticity. Silicon nanoparticles have a large active surface. They are chemically and thermally stable, well suspended in aqueous solutions and relatively inert in the environment." - Genyk, S.M. (2014). Silicon as a Natural Key to Health. Galician Medical Journal, 21, 6-9.
@@PasajeroDelToro silicon is natural, silicone, the product being used here is synthetic, and not natural.

Those silicone mats become impossible to clean after awhile
