    This video does make it sound louder than it actually is. I just serviced mine and replaced the spark plug with a Bosch Double Iridium. It makes a difference, much smoother idle and easier starting. Love this little Generator, great vid !

    I just picked one of these up at Walmart for $99. That makes a total of 5 generators that I own, I'm kind of addicted. No other machine gives me peace of mind like generators do.
    Who cares if the neighbors do complain? If the power is out I'm running a gen 24/7 until power is restored. If they're lucky I'll run one of my smaller and quieter units at night.

    The extra benefit of this generator compared to the harbor freight generator is the 12v dc stator. In a backup or emergency situation two deep cycle or golf cart batteries can be charged up, while powering 120ac devices. 14.6v under a 8amp load .

  • @doubled69899
    @doubled69899 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Do you think this would run a portable ac or would it be too much of a load and burn up the generator? I'm building a camper out of an enclosed 6x10 trailer and it would only be running the ac. Lights I'm gonna hook up to a deep cycle battery with solar trickle charger

    • @stevensteiner2392

      Honestly it depends on how big the unit is. The surge wattage shouldn't exceed 1200.
      We need to know the surge amps of the compressor and what the running watts are.
      Watts = Amps x Voltage
      If you give me the model number I'll let you know if it can run it safely without damaging either the unit or generator.

    Is this pure sign or modified sine wave?

    • @johnettipio
      @johnettipio ปีที่แล้ว

      It is neither. Those terms only apply to inverters or inverter generators. A conventional generator produces a sinusoidal wave with about 10%-20% THD (Total Harmonic Distortion). Most things will run fine on that but some electronics can be a bit fussy. Inverter generators usually have a THD of less than 5%.

    • @nodak81
      @nodak81 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd think so, yes. An Xbox One should only draw around 200 watts max and a TV should be 100 watts or less. In theory you could run three of each at the same time. The only problem might be the power quality. I'm sure a cheap generator like this puts out really messy power and could potentially harm sensitive electronics.

    • @johnettipio
      @johnettipio ปีที่แล้ว

      This generator is supposed to provide 1200W starting power and 900W continuous power. 2 HP is just under 1500W which is WAY to high for a generator like this. Not to mention the power required to start the compressor may be 2-3X higher than the running wattage! I can't say if the compressor is damaged without seeing it but, hopefully the generator's circuit breaker tripped. Definitely try the compressor on a different AC source. Compressors, pumps, and anything with big motors can be tricky to run on small generators. If you are buying a generator intended to run these types of loads it is best to oversize, look for units with a high starting wattage.
