Hey, Sly, I've been following your trip around S.A. since i saw your clip on the 24 Sept 2022, You were walking through Kalk Bay. My wife and I were there at the same time. So strangely enough in this clip above, 7min 40sec, you walked past myself and my wife. We had a good laugh about that one. Sorry, I did not recognize you, otherwise I would have greeted. Love Your work....keep it up.
The Gatsby is the thing to try when in Cape Town, also check out the Cape Malay cuisines which you'll easily find in the beatiful and colourful area call Bo Kaap which is also in the CBD area. You should take a trip around the beasch area from VA Waterfront to Clifton or Camps Bay, it will be worth the trip.
There are many things to try in cape town, like the comment says, a lot of great cape malay food: chicken Curry, Akni, koeksisters, Malva pudding, gatsy, boewors, biltong, lamingtons, etc
1. Gatsby: @ Super Fisheries in Athlone 2.Salomie @ Mariam's Kitchen on the Foreshore 3. Bobotie at Bo-kaap Kombuis 4. Cocktail pies at Wembley Bakery 5. Grilled chicken at Bona Cafe in Grassy Park 6. Vienna and Chips at Aneesas, Wynberg
Lord's Will-I Will Be Stopping By Johannesburg And South Cape Town In South Africa; But It Won't Be Until 2023. Keep Praying For me as I Pray for you always 🙏 in Jesus Christ Name Amen 🙏💕☺️
Welcome to our beautiful city. I think getting a local guide will be much more insightful for yourself and audience. However i like the explorative nature of your videos. Nicely done sir
Wonderful, another step further down the Cape Town cultural rabbit hole. You walked past a stall selling Malay food which, although it is called Malay, it’s some of the most local food available in Cape Town.
@@martinmuller7127 Bruh you don't know me thooou!!🤯🤯. Okay please don't make such comments ever again. I'm only studying in Cape Town ,it's my first year. Check out Tuanni Price in Cape Town. She does wine tours, she is actually originally from Los Angeles. She does a lot of good work to bring more people of color into the wine business in SA.
Bunny Chaw is more Indian food... The reason why you find it more in DBN is because Durban is where majority of Indian people live, something like Durban has more Indian folks than the whole of SA!fact! When indians first arrived in SA they were brought to Durban to work in the Sugarcane fields... It's literally their home away from India
Thanks you so much for this remarkable video about Cape Town, South Africa in September of 2022.I will definitely love to visits Cape Town, Johannesburg, Pretoria in 2025!
SA, regardless of which ethnic group you fall in, is all about meat cuisine. Vegetarianism/Veganism is almost slur around these parts and long may that continue.
I'm originally from CT but living in nz. Coming for a holiday on 15/11/22. Miss capetonians and our sociable culture. Don't really find it anywhere else in the world.
Thank you for this tour of Cape Town which looks very nice because all I've been hearing is horror stories about this city, it looks totally different than what I imagined 👍
I'm a Capetonian and in general the Western Cape Province of South Africa is really great and compared to the rest of South Africa, especially Gauteng Province, quite safe. Western Cape have lots of tourist attractions and generally very safe. It is more in run-down areas called the Cape Flats and some squatter camp areas like, Langa, Khyalitsha, etc. where you do not go to. This is where gangsterism is rife. Cape Town CBD, Hout Bay, Muizenberg, Clifton, Camps Bay, etc. are lovely and more safe. Then you get the winelands like Durbanville, Paarl, Wellington and Stellenbosch which is very beautiful and there is so much to do and see. Further along the South Coast of the Western Cape is the Garden Route with places like, Mosselbay, Plettenberg Bay, Hartenbos, Knysna, etc. Now these places are absolutely exquisite. Some of the most beautiful places in the world.
@@Zangettsu_ZA Now that's a great description and I like the way you explained South Africa in a way that I now have a better understanding, many thanks.
Woodstock has really changed. I lived there in '96 as a student and the main road area was rundown. Cape Town though is not a place I'd live in again, it's too slow paced and the mixed race people there are loud and ratchet. The whites are racist and the Cape Town local Blacks are invisible. Joburg is fast paced and Black excellence is in full display.
Yo man Woodstock my old ghetto home "gympie street " you further down the main road try dollars salt River I think they still operating get a Gatsby o bunnychoa gudluk
woodstock is a vibe. easy to hit the cbd, bo kaap, the v&a waterfront, and all the other spots. shoulder season in south africa is nice - great weather and a chill and slower pace. + great promotions in local shops. and, sly is doing it right. markets are the jam, especially in south africa. just grab a snack and a coffee and kick it and take in the energy.
Unfortunately those with access to the internet in SA, also tend to be the ones that gravitate towards western food. There's tons of local delicacies like samp and beans, chicken feet, skobo, usu, incwancwa, milk tart, indlubu... sooo much. But those that eat it, aren't the ones writing articles and vlogging about it unfortunately
You are very very wrong. All Cape Town is beatifull🙃 By the grace of the Lord when We are there we enjoy every part of Kaap Stad. Only to look at Tafel berg.
Come on bro. What's the point of going to a place if you won't go in moments that those places are meant for. More people means more cultural views 🤷🏾♂️. Ain't that what you want...?
Like certain cities in the US, you find that cities like Atlanta have more Black people compared to a city like Boston. It's the same in South Africa because we are a racially diverse country. Cape Town has a large Caucasian population.
@@mightyrsa9772 in truth without tourist, Cape Town is still much occupied by White South Africans. Nothing weird about that. It's common in racially diverse countries. I live in the USA in a predominantly White city. When people ask about the presence of White people in SA they pretend like they are not aware of the racial diversity of SA and our history. In countries with different racial groups you will find that some cities have a lot more presence of a particular race.
