Good stuff, Brother Coop. I stayed in Sandton at the @Sandton Hotel last year, and it was nice. I'll be back in March, and my plan is to stay there again. In the meantime, stay blessed!
I was in Sandton last year from the UK, I love my SA brothers and sisters im Zulu born and raised in the UK, but i long to move back to the country of my Father's origin, i believe because of that, its my country too.
Traffic relatively quiet first week of Jan, which is normal. Wait for the 2nd week of Jan when most businesses and schools re-open after the holiday season. Most people will be returning now from holiday abroad (esp. Sandtonites) or from the 'hidden gems' around South Africa 😊. Same for most cities in the country, except Cape Town and Durban, which are the well-known holiday gems😆 Watched most of your videos, and I still can't get over your amazing teeth!!!👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽 Thank you for taking the time to showcase some parts of our beautiful country and the people who live here❤
Sandton is like Broklyn in New York. Johannesburg is the City, Sandton is the City within the City. It is still all Johannesburg. The list of Cities in Johannesburg. 1. Sandton, WaterFall, Midrand, Rosebank, Alberton,Bedfordview, Roodeport, Bramfontein, Fairlands, etc.
Sandton is a district under Joburg Metro. What is referred to as the 'richest square mile' is the Sandton CBD( Central Business District)/ Sandton Central where Johannesburg Stock Exchange is situated. While some companies have their Head quarters there, most South African listed companies have head quarters all across SA cities. The JSE is worth $3 Trillion, has over 400 listed companies and ranks 16th in the world, No 1 in Africa. Hence the area is called the richest square mile in Africa Some of Sandton suburbs includes Morningside, Revonia, Bryanston,Fourways etc. Most of SAs richest people don't live in Sandton, Pretoria East has the most richest South Africans living there.
Yo Coop if you haven’t yet checkout Melrose Arch. My wife and I visited Jo’Burg couple of years ago from the states. We stayed at the Melrose Marriott for 10 days. We visited several places you posted. Bc of people like you from our community was the reason why we visited SA!!!
Johannesburg and Greater Gauteng is in the Tropic of Capricorn so it is a tropical savanna climate. We don't get rain in winter, though it gets really cold, winters a bright, sunny and cold. Summer is hot with tropical thunderstorms every afternoon.
Great video! Born and raised in Johannesburg. Sandton is quite safe, as always be vigilant wherever you are especially at night. Sandton is wealthy due to the high concentration of businesses, hotels and entertainment. Sandton and greater Gauteng become quiet over the holidays. You should visit some of the attractions in the Cradle of Humankind, about 30/40 minutes from Sandton there are many attractions from hiking, dining and festivals/ markets to cave tours and places that are 420-friendly.
Happy New Year 🥳 & Happy Birthday J. Coop 🎉. Yes, I’ve had the pleasure of visiting Mandela Square/Sandton. I loved it and planning on visiting again this year. Blessings & be safe 🫶🏾✌🏾.
Mr. Jackson Cooper:Thanks you so much for your new remarkable video today’s from Sandton city, South Africa this weekend to shows those amazing places on the streets in great joy January of 2025❤❤❤
YOU did not show them the full Sandton City building COOP, I understand it was empty because we are all in Cape Town lol. But brother Diamond 💎 Walk - is a must see.
Been to Sandton a few times. I've never seen it this depopulated. Especially the Mandela square. Is it because of the time of the year. Love From Zambia.
Yes. This time of the year is the best time to be in Jo'burg and Pretoria. Most people 'go home' to their birth or ancestral provinces or go and hang out in the coastal cities of Cape Town or Durban
Mr. Jackson Cooper:Thanks you so much for this new remarkable video today’s from Sandton, South Africa this New Year in 2025 to shows those amazing places in joy 2025❤❤❤
Joburg is mostly empty during the festive season but theres more life during the year except December, also Hotel Sky is dope and full of high-class working girls, a day visit won't hurt😅
Mr. Jackson Cooper:I am watching this new remarkable video this weekend @ home from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania USA 🇺🇸 to shows Sandton city, Johannesburg, South Africa in January of 2025❤❤❤Happy New Year to you in peace January of 2025❤❤❤
The business district is not what makes Sandton the richest square mile in Africa, it's because of the Sandton's housing estates where rich people live.
I first went to Sandton in 1991. It has been a stunning suburb of joburg. The Sandton city tower was the landmark then before the emergence of the current CBD. I like Sandton, but I still feel Joburg CBD and other areas need to be revitalized.
You were on west street not far from benmore . It's pretty safe that side. But I can show you a very quite and hidden gem of sandton. Just Holla at me.
u were 15 minutes walk away from where i stay,n alexandra township which is near sandton but u shld have walk inside the mall jst behind the mandela statue

Okay thanks for showing love to my country brother. 😂Been wanting to say this for a while. You make it hard to live in the UK/US with these vlogs I’m over here like “what the hell am I even doing here”🤣🤣
Happy New Year Coop. Love your videos of SA. Two things though, the tall building you are referring to is not an apartment building it is the tallest building in Africa that is actually a hotel, called The Leonardo. Secondly, Nelson Mandela deserves the prominence when it comes to him and Winnie Mandela as she only rose to prominence firstly as his wife and secondly when he was imprisoned. She was embraced as the figurehead of the ANC in lieu of Nelson Mandel's absence. Also, it was his name and what he represented to the liberation struggle that fueled the movement and inspired us all to fight for our freedom.
@senzomazibuko6937 lol don't promote that... I'm sure the world hears about Lomdon all the the time... tell ol buddy they can kick rocks with open toed shoes. Africa and Black countries are up next.
Jackson don’t forget to tell your audience the tax is included in the price. I was confused when u visited US first time and the tax not included in the price 😂
Sandton is not a separate city to Johannesburg. You get the Johannesburg CBD (Central Business District) but about 30 years ago businesses started moving out of the CBD due to crime and degradation of the city. Sandton is the new CBD. Sandton is by no means safe. Don't walk with expensive equipment and definitely not at night.

As a Brit retired to South Africa 100% yes. It's an amazing country, great vibe, exceptional food & drink scene. As was stated in the VLOG beware as South Africa drives on the same side of the road as the UK, so be careful. Also there are areas that you don't want to venture into, but as a tourist you wouldn't anyway. Whilst I live in Johannesburg, for a tourist there are better places to visit in South Africa. However to live here Johannesburg has the best opportunities.
