Why are you shouting?
If the marketing team made videos like this....they'd still be working at Tesla....
People can be very rough on public transportation. They will eat and drink in it and if they drink too much they will ralph too. Yes, it must be very easy to clean thoroughly and quickly. You want to avoid little places where things like glasses, wallets, phones, trash/food can fall into and be hidden or hard to get out. Everything must be waterproof. No fabrics that can become stained or stay wet.
I’m sure Elon and team have got it covered.
Why it's going to be private transportation. I suspect the first few rides will be supervised. Once you accept a few riders, owners will limit rides to people they know.

When I see the multi folds in the white seat cushion, the same thoughts came to mind. That is a very nice looking seat but won’t stand up to mass use. You want to be able to practically hose it down after some uses. Imagine a person with very bad body odor or a homeless person who has not showered for weeks. You want to be able to hose it down somehow. The floor pattern should allow water to drain out easily from the center to the outside of the vehicle.

I'm amazed Tesla can put out a very informative video asking for a yes vote on Elon's compensation package but refuse to do something similar to get the word out that Tesla is not just an auto manufacturer. A high-quality advertisement of this type running on network television would generate incredible excitement for Tesla and cement in the minds of many that Tesla is clearly leading the path forward.

Another funny ‘Easter egg’ which is probably nothing but anyhow… in the scene where you can see the screen of the phone showing the ‘robo taxi app’ w/temp & volume control, you can also see the artist/song that’s being played (artist Namir Blade, song: Boa). If you find the song in Spotify and open the mini video clip you can see a Tesla car spinning or something.
Trust me, the App is already functional. When I show clients a prototype app my app is 70% functional real code.

25:15 maybe those seat Ridges have a gap, so crumbs and spilled drinks can drains and fall through, with a way to move the seat and clean later
A tidbit, a snack, until 8/8. A reminder of what is coming. Not quite a movie trailer since none of it actually shows what we will see later. More like development clips from the past and we are supposed to imagine a similar development for the robotaxi. Things are happening, they are working on the next thing.
When has any car gone from artist impression to a physical product within a couple months?

@@mervstash3692 They've been working on the robotaxi for a long time now. Elon wanted it to be top priority over the 25k car which Elon didn't want to do, but his staff, who feared FSD would not work anytime soon, talked him into using the same platform so work on the 25k car could be used for the robotaxi. When FSD got better, Elon said to hell with it, we are focusing on the robotaxi, period. Competition from China would be tough for the 25k car, but nobody can compete with the robotaxi. Stuff like stainless steel and 48v were developed and tested in the cybertruck. Now the path is clear.
@alanhall6909 talking about it for years and actually working on it are 2 different things. There is zero evidence of it anywhere. It doesn't exist. You guys have thousands of cult members making daily sickophant videos about everything going on at the company. Not a single one of them has seen any sign of work going on? Just think back to the CT production.
Same applies to the 25k car. Doesn't exist.
It's generally best to ignore what Elon says and go look for yourself to see if any of his BS is actually true. 99.9% of the time its pure crap

I think they missed a trick … it should have been three sets abreast like a Matra Baghera. That way two people (when ride-sharing) can sit apart.

Honestly, why would you make a robotaxi look like a little tiny car that is as hard to get in and out of as low-slung sports cars. Something (maybe bit boxy) with easy access and room for pets and kids and groceries, etc., and yourself is probably what would be wanted. As far as taxis are concerned, people really liked the Lincoln Continental because it was spacious and comfortable. Few if anyone enjoys a regular taxi, especially if they have bags or luggage, etc., and get jammed into back seats. Why have a big display screen in the taxi? For commercials (awful idea) or games (people have phones for that). Just tell the taxi where you want to go and insert a credit card.

I don't understand why the first still is said to show the robo taxi mockup: Why would one need a pointy dashboard: Only for the airbag and AC air funneling ?
That seems like a waste of 3D space to me. Certainly there are less wasteful design ideas - in regard to 3D real estate usage.
The air ducts in trains and airplanes pretty much understand to hide the air supply hoses. - Calling this a robi taxi mockup makes no sense to me.

The inner door panels on CT have deep compound curves, it's thin SS hot formed. (as per Sandy Munro vid from months ago)

I'm saddened by them thinking of a TWO seater taxi. Families, people in wheelchairs, a bass player and his instrument, all excluded? Do elderly people have to climb down into it and climb up out of it? It doesn't need to be aerodynamic to crawl around our big cities. Can't even see this taking my wife and I to the airport with all our luggage. Franz has a wife and two children, Elon has kids and a dog - what are they thinking? This looks longer than the original mini which was 10ft and even that carried 4 passengers. I am gobsmacked at the enormous waste of resources being put into what looks to be an impractical concept.
What are the chances this is only one if the robotaxis they make? Perhaps there’s a larger one to be shown on 8/8 as well!!!
I guess you can ask for a bigger car in the Robotaxi app. Perhaps even a van.
Or, if you are too many for that, ask for a train of Robotaxis.!
If you need more than 2 people, or wheelchair/big luggage capacity, the app will simply hail a model Y instead of a 2-seater.
That rear view, my first thought was an extendable loading ramp for goods or a wheelchair.

Makes sense that RoboTaxi design does not have a version with steering wheel and peddles. Too many trade offs. Needs to be optimized specifically for Robotaxi.

Obviously the front! As you say it’s not a diffuser. It’s all the right angles for a front with a small splitter, and all the wrong angles for a rear diffuser.

It’s understandable, that due the uniqueness of the architecture I posited and possibly higher costs inherent to new design, they decided to instead go with what is similar to their current designs.

Herbert, I can always count on you on reporting the latest on Tesla. I was wondering why the stock shot up today.
Nobody know why Tesla goes up or down. It’s a story stock. You can’t motivate teslas P/E without the story. Nothing real happened. And when it goes down it’s basically the same thing.
It has to be dirt cheap, a 2-seater, very light (for longer range), possibly a 3-wheeler, possibly unpainted. And there's no driver to pay. If the ride cost is comparable to a bus and it can come to my front yard at the time I want, I'm definitely going to use it. So my mother and wife. And we can save a lot getting rid of our second vehicle.

I own a Mobile Car Detailing Cleaning business in Calgary Canada. Soon we are expanding to a New Detailing Centre in The Marriott Hotel. I would like to own a few Tesla Bots to work in my Detailing Centre. Later perhaps we will own 20 Tesla Detail Cleaning Bots. 🙂
Come on guys... The cardboard workup is a smoke and mirror mis-direction presentation. The seat looks like it came from a small airplane. I believe the real 8/8 reveal will be of a vehicle that will impress, not be laughed at.

I think the robotaxi seats will convert into beds, and the screens will be larger - possibly the windshields themselves if they can do it.
I will definitely use overnight robotaxis vs dealing with short haul flights.

Even when it becomes obvious Tesla is clearly heading towards dominating self-driving transport with a solution and platform that is near completion, so many commentators are still only focused on the legacy auto business and competing on the old paradigm... Time to wake up folks. Elon is way ahead of that. We are no longer just building a "better horse".
What would the ideal Robotaxi look like?
Carry 6 full sized American passengers.
Seats have seatbelts that must be buckled or the Robotaxi doesn't move
Luggage section like on a bus at the airport must handle 6 36" pullman bags
Wheelchair friendly
Bike-friendly
Minibus-looking with no front or back can go either way
Doors like on a school bus - mid-section and on each side
Basically, the bus at the airport that takes you to and from the parking lots and rental cars.
What will elon come up with - probably some god awful stainless steel version of the Mad Max truck.

If they make Robotaxi a 2 seater only, it will be a disaster. No families will be able to ever ride one. 1, 2 or 3 kids are 90% of families, so a typical 5 seater car is mandatory. 2 seats? have they ever checked what's the market for 2 seaters? they are a really small niche! I was thinking about buying a robotaxi for me to be used also for taxi service. But a 2 seater is almost useless! Can you imagine arriving at an airport and summoning a robotaxi just to learn you have to summon another one just to have your family of 3 be driven to the hotel? They're going to drop a real hard ball this time

If you’ve done your research, you are free to vote as a shareholder in whatever way you believe best aligns with the company’s future growth. Elon is the difference. This package was already approved. He hit the targets. PAY UP!
@@mervstash3692 Don't be stupid. $TSLA will 20x in the next 5-10 years. The only way you lose is either (1) get rid of Elon or (2) not be a long term investor. Your investment hasn't been "torched" whatsoever. How many shares do you hold (if any) and when did you buy them?

It's on track to go bust within the next 2-3 years.
How do you think it's going from that to 20x? FSD has been coming next year for a decade & still on level 2 autonomy, the Robot is just a really crappy remote operated gizmo that is less advanced than stuff kids made in high school in the 90s. It can barely walk in a straight line on a flat surface. The Cybertruck was an epic fail, the Semi has quietly been dropped along with the 25k car, the Roadster & there is zero chance of Robotaxis in August.
20% of the company has been fired, more still to come, all new interships have been terminated (the future innovators of Tesla). Executives cashing out their stock & leaving left & right, the Chair of the board cashed out 50 million herself right before begging shareholders to vote for Elon's bonus.
Re shares being torched, tell me, what have they given you in return? Any dividends? Who has made any liquid cash out of Tesla other than Elon, his bros on the board and the top execs?
It's a pump a dump champ. The pump is over. It made him the richest man on the planet for a bit. Now we are in the middle of the dump.
If you can't see that Tesla is doomed & that Elon is going to cash out his remaining stock regardless of the vote outcome & move entirely to his new toy xAI, then you are living in a bubble.

With the rebate base model 3 is around 32k maybe next year they will have a cheaper car (not quite 25k but more like 32 k minus the fed rebate.

? The model Y LR RWD is 37,490. You most likley qualify for the credit at sale ...add your tax and fees to that and that should be just fine.

Honestly, we all need to get used to the vote going against Elon in June, and Elon departing Tesla to work on XAI / X with limited AI collusion between Tesla and XAI. Tesla will remain in Delaware and go through numerous fights with that corrupt legal system.
