    Video is great and Aslı spoke well, just the right speed for the learners. But I felt she skipped a few letters from some words. Is that so or my non turkish ears heard so?

    • @recarioca
      @recarioca 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      What letters? You should be more be specific if you want a precise answer. If you're talking about the dropped R's in :" bir" or the verb suffix "-iyor", that's the way Turkish is spoken. The future tense also sounds different from the way it is spelled.

    • @jehan_navard
      @jehan_navard 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@recarioca thanks for the detailed reply. But just for you to understand my comment better, read it again.

    • @recarioca
      @recarioca 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jehan_navard I read it again and fail to see how I misunderstood your words:"But I felt she skipped a few letters from some words. Is that so or my non turkish ears heard so?"
      Perhaps you can express yourself more clearly next time? You wondered whether the speaker dropped some letter, and I said she did. If that was not your question, what was it, then?

    • @jehan_navard
      @jehan_navard 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Plz don't fret too much. In simple words mine was an implied or declarative question which is written in the same form as spoken. If you read it as a declarative question you wouldn't need to ask the other person to be more specific for a precise answer. Native speakers tend to drop letters or do not put stress upon certain letters. It was interesting to note that for Turkish as well because the presenter spoke with a speed with which I felt comfortable. This gave me a chance to listen more intently which I didnt get earlier with other presenters.
      So that was it..a declarative question.

    • @recarioca
      @recarioca 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jehan_navard Ah, now it makes sense -- except that declarative questions do not invert the word order like yours did ("is that so") That inversion denotes a regular question, and not the declarative question you thought you were asking. Thanks for explaining what were actually trying to say/write. Take care.
