    I just had to replace a Glow-Worm main heat exchanger today. It was my first time replacing one. It took me a best part of 3hrs. I took my time with it. Thank you for this video. I had the MIs, but I found it better to watch your video.

    Well done from ex glowworm engineerm most people wouldn't attempt this, but once you have done one its not a bad job, just would never rest a heat exchanger or any metal parts on a metal sink🥴

    You know your way round a boiler mate , I hate all this plastic crap that’s in modern boilers when I first started 40 years ago it was unheard of to have plastic components in a boiler , progress eh.....😳
    I’m enjoying watching your vids mate and keep up the good work..👍

      Thanks for your message mate, will be adding more content as I do more breakdowns 👍🏽 and yes I agree, I find there's generally more issues with plastic components in boilers!

    What if you can't take side panels out can you still manage to do it without or boiler have to removed from wall.

    Just come across your videos love your work but the heat exchanger for the boiler is around £650-700 did u not advice the costomer on a new boiler surly its more economical for a new boiler

      Thanks mate, this was a job with social housing so their terms stipulate if parts are available then we must replace them. I wouldn't normally, but was a good experience regardless 👍🏽

    Hi. My Glowworm Flexicom looks to have the exact same issue on the flue hood where its perished on the front surface as per your video and water is discharging from from it. Why would this happen and is it just the flue hood that needs replacing or is there another cause for this to happen?

    I'm having this work done on Tuesday. My boiler is in a cupboard. Reckon that needs to come off the wall to allow the Work to happen? Want to make it as easy as possible for engineer. Thanks for video.

    • @cputilitysolutions
      @cputilitysolutions  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you can take the cupboard off then it will most definitely help out the engineer 👍🏽

    • @Jimmymca_
      @Jimmymca_ 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cputilitysolutions it's pretty on there and has been neatly attached. Even with it off its only the righthand side that will be exposed as the left is pretty close to the wall. What you reckon job time is 3/4 hrs? Thanks again for video and response.

    • @cputilitysolutions
      @cputilitysolutions  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Jimmymca_ I'm sure the engineer should be able to work around it hopefully. Let me know how it goes 👍🏽

    Never done it due to cost reasons, but found loads leak on sump
    Although it's only a gasket not available as a part .
    Think those heatexchangers are about 500 I think?

    • @cputilitysolutions
      @cputilitysolutions  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yup stupid design! This was for social housing so if you can get parts they want you to fix it

    Hi there great video mate. I'm a newbie at breakdowns so Please excuse my ignorance but I was having trouble seeing the reason for the "At Risk" was a bit quick for my eyes. Was there a crack/hole in the flue duct assembly.? Thanks in advance. Thanks again. Great videos for the like of me with good explanation of what you are doing ?

    • @cputilitysolutions
      @cputilitysolutions  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi mate, yeah the injection moulding points on both flue ducts are the weakest points so they tend to split and you can see the white crusting. The front flue duct is easy to change, but the rear flue duct you have to take the boiler off the wall as it's screwed on from the back!

    • @macpatel7810
      @macpatel7810 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cputilitysolutions thanks for the reply.. I did notice the 2 crusty white marks on both the front one you took off and the the rear one but I thought you may have been pointing out the slightly darker area on the horizontal part higher up. I figured that's just where the silencer is maybe touching the flue pipe.. seems a bit daft to be screwed in from the back. But I suppose there must be a reason. Great video series for the like of myself who are new and learning plenty. With great information as you go along..

    Did this have the fault code f22 by any chance? Changing one of these tmoro in a super tight cupboard!

    • @cputilitysolutions
      @cputilitysolutions  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, this one was coming up with a F1 fault which is blocked hex/sump

    Hi ... What was the reason for Replacing the heat exchanger

    • @cputilitysolutions
      @cputilitysolutions  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It had a split sump and the sump doesn't come separate but as part of the main heat exchanger so the whole thing needs to be replaced
