I like ginge, true angler, he hits every fishing mission with the same enthusiasm I had at 11 years old lol. Van den eied used to do great flavour meat, the yellow crab and prawn was killer for all cyprinids! PS the comedy “fishing walk” made me smile 😀
Never mind all that fancy stuff. Get down to your local Co-Oo and get a bag of slow roasted chicken Fridge Raiders. The Chub go bananas for them in my local river.
I fished the River Teme, near Ludlow. The best bait I found was the Red Pepperami , I had Barbel up to 11lb and Chub up to 5lb. Give it a go. Great channel.
That was a great Session there Chris, You want too go to Iron Bridge (Coalport) and fish the River Seven. Your Rod Is near bent double before one grabs It, and at 10 to 20 pounders, You have to hang on for dear life, but It's great fun. Huge chunks of Luncheon Meat, and instead of pellets, loads of smaller chucks to throw In way up stream. And the Chub are just as big as well.
Another great days fishing, well done! I used to enjoy alot of free lining meat and floating bread crust on the Dorset stour. Some very large chub on crust. Christchurch angling club waters. Another well presented video. Thank you.
Keep an eye out for dye marks on the underside of Barbel, they part of a stocking program on a number of waterways. Some beauties in the video, chub too 👍👍👍
Yes mate,we used to catch barbel on the stour that had Orange dye spots on the chin. Part of the stock release at longham going bk to the mid eighties, that's when i was fishing there. We were asked to report the catch so Wessex water knew where the stocks had travelled to and from.
That's correct a number of barbel was stocked above the new weir on the stour but Unfortunately not many have been caught. They don't know if they went up river or anything. They should of stocked them new weir down through the tidal stretches
@@mattholmes2589 Matt,i used to do most of my fishing along from longham carpark down through Dudsbury around the island stretch and through to parley. That was some great fishing. I never Saw any marked barbel below the wier at parley though. Tight lines pal

I've been catching Chub and barbel on luncheon meat for years. The stuff you get in supermarkets ! They're also partial to a nice bit of cheese. One of my best ever river fishing trips was using red Leicester cheese. They couldn't get enough of it. Unfortunately I now live in Cornwall so there is virtually no rivers here holding coarse fish 😔
Love your channel. I've used hot dogs cat food pepperoni. Once ran out of sweet corn on a hair rig used a refresher chew (sweet) caught a big carp. Just proves they will eat anything.
Hi fella love the vids but have you can you do a vid on different types of line and what to use for styles of fishing as I've been out of the game for 20+ years and there seems to be a mind field of different lines
Some cracking fish on that river, had a 4lber about 10 meters down from where you are, and 9lber and a 7lber in a peg down stream in 2 hours fishing last night.
Awesome Barble and Chub chris , never caught these at all . Crickey mate what next , last week hook through the finger , today broke your lending net pole , battery runs out on your scales ,careful you don't fall in the Canal or river 😎. Great video as always ,all the best from Downunder 👍
Hard to believe one can find such a quiet secluded spot on such an over populated island. I live in Central Canada and it's common to go fishing and not see another soul all day but our population density is among the world's lowest (that's a good thing 😉)
Nice fishing there but you must be the most accident prone fisherman on you-tube, almost every time I watch your vids your breaking something, forgetting something or hooking yourself, but no denying your catch rate top notch.
Any advice as I'm a complete novice I plan fishing the sluice near me i get everything fishing scenario is different but general barbel fishing what are the do and don'ts
@@donnydbikelife8665 Follow good fishing techniques. Hook length weaker than main line, running rig. Hook bait in the ground bait, or at least the flavour and give it a go. Patience with Barbel, can always try a ball of maggots down the side to start the day.
In my country to catch the barbel in the net they say is a blasphemy. You have to take it by hand to give it one more opportunity and if your hand is too small for that...unlucky you! 😉
That's a great watch what a stunning beautiful river and fish. Unreal fishing 🔥💯 What rod are you using ? Also how are you detecting the bites?I know your watching with glasses but are holding the line at all? Loved it

Great video and some nice Barbel! I've got a question about that rig you use. Is it as simple as a hook length, with a few shot down the line to get the bait down? I'm just getting back into fishing after not going for about 7 years, I have only ever fished using the waggler. I have just got my first feeder rod so I can start to fish different methods. I'm finding your videos great to watch!
Is someone here who can teach me how can i fish on rivers in Uk? I mean the taxes and council part...what I have to pay and where? Thank you in advance !!
Fishing licence, permission off land owner if there is fishing rights owned or private land. But other than that you're good to go🎣 you might have to pay bailiffs afew pound if they have fishing rights for sections👍
