What a great acquisition and lovely coin. Congratulations on ticking off a major “want” from your list. A stunning coin with a lot of history, imagine the pockets it has passed through.
Personally, I like a coin with a bit of wear on them - they've been used for their purpose, and you can only imagine whose hands they've been through. Excellent buy.
WOW! That is incredible. I really like the reverse of the coin, it is very intricate. Also, have you considered making a video showing off your top ten favourite coins? Because I’d love to see them.
What a great piece of history. Still nicely legible. Makes you wonder where all this item circulated through its long life. Nice gold coin to have in your collection and to be proud of.
I love old gold coins. My first (and only) gold coin is a 1797 half guinea (spade). I'm stacking my spare silver coins to fund my next gold coin purchase
There's three types of gold well four if you add the rose gold the first is old gold the second is New gold then the third is white gold now that's some shiny gold ( white gold) in terms of gold depending on the wear and age it's either going to be old or new but new gold is more brighter than old gold ok.😮😊
Very nice coins I got my self 1771 full guniea very nice condition bit ov wear to the hair but beautiful I paid 700 9 mouths ago hope I didn't pay to much love the videos ❤
At 2.04g of 22ct gold that coin is worth ~£100 at spot. Coinhunter gives a retail value of £250 in Fine condition, but your coin has worked hard over the years and is quite worn (Fair-to-Good probably). So personally I'd say you've overpaid somewhat, but it's easily done with those magnificent old guineas (am guilty of it myself) and it's clear you are enjoying owning it. Onwards & upwards!
Fabulous coin ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I absolutely agree 👍

I wonder what people from those days would make of some of the coins being made by the Royal Mint today?
Probably would not be very impressed
