Right on time. I built a cute little housing and shelf for my new Chugger pump, guess what it did yesterday? Shut down due to overheating! Thank you one more time Bobby! Please keep helping us all to better enjoy our brewing experience.

Awesome walk-through of the chugger pump and potential fixes. I had a alignment problem with my pump and the suggestion here solved my issue. I was ready to buy another pump...saved some $$$ by watching this video.

Yet another reason Bobby is the man! If only I were smarter and/or "unlazyer" to figure this stuff out on my own. Great video!

Bobby, thank you for this! Saved me a lot of time, headaches and money. My pump just buzzed when plugged in after attaching valves and camlocks. This video showed me I just had to take it apart, realign the collar and boom. Pump is humming again.

Thanks a million for your video. One of my pumps decided not to run when I started setting up for my first brew in a while. I was about to go buy another pump but the local stores were out. Then I realized there must be something on TH-cam that would help. Problem was solved because you showed how easy it is to get into the pump. My problem was simple lack of maintenance. I apparently forgot to clean out this pump the last time I brewed and some wort sludge was filling the impeller area. Cleaned it out and it's almost as good as new.

Great video Bobby, helped me troubleshoot my chugger pump problem. Found that the 3mm bolt holding the drive magnet (cup) to the motor shaft had loosened up.

Thanks for the video! When I went to run my pump on brew day, it refused to spin. I took off the pump head, and it spun just fine. So I took apart the pump head to see the vanes, and they were frozen. I had to turn the impeller with some effort. I guess it had too much gunk built up (I need better cleaning protocols). After I got it spinning freely with my fingers and put the pump back together, it worked just fine.

This is a good video; however, he did not describe my issue. My issue is that the plastic motor connecting bracket [Part # 109829] (the bracket between the propeller and the motor). Due to a hot to cold to hot issue, the bracket cracked. I have ordered two replacement parts from two different suppliers; unfortunately, both brackets were not the same size as the one that came with the pump when purchased. Strangely, both replacement brackets were approximately 1/2" longer than the original manufactured bracket. I do not know where I can purchase a correct sized replacement bracket. Suggestions???

so if you remove the head and fire it up and the motor doesnt kick on then its a faulty motor? Is there a fix for that or just shit out of luck?

Does the start/run capacitor under the motor ever need to be replaced? Pump runs but its noisy .

Bobby, I have a brand new pump that makes a loud rattling sound when I crank it up to more than half way open on the output. The rattling goes away once I close the valve almost all the way. The sounds seems to be coming from the main propeller on the motor. Have you ever experienced this issue? I cannot seem to get it resolved.

The pump is a chugger as well like the one in your video. I called the company and of the reps told me that I was starving the pump and that's why it was making that noise. I do not think that's right because I hook up my other pump to the exact same set-up and it doesn't do this.
