  • In this video I go through Loki’s enclosure and start the process of sprucing it up!
    I also start up a yabby holding tub so I can give him more live food.
    It’s going to be a long road but this videos a good start.

    Hey Luke, enclosure looks great!!
    Whats your thoughts on keeping mangrove monitors and mertens together? I keep both but have them in seperate setups would be sweet to build a massive setup for both!

    How much did this enclosure cost to build? I'm sure lumber is more expensive in australia than America but I'd say maybe lie 750$ to 900$?

    • @BeachesScalyBeasts
      @BeachesScalyBeasts  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ply along was around $600 Aussie from memory so yeah probably close to those figures you put up. From memory the original build (also a video on the channel) was about $2000 including lighting thermostats etc.

    Do you reckon mangrove monitors could eat prawns? because one of my mates is currently researching and is wondering about the safety of prawns as a treat.

    • @BeachesScalyBeasts
      @BeachesScalyBeasts  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah Loki eats prawns from time to time mate. I did soak them for a half hour or so to leach some salt out them though.

      He’s not what I would call tame at all to be honest. He’s better than he used to be but I think he’s still got a way to go. It took me years for him to tong feed for me.

  • @matts1072

    your tank definitely gets poor water quality so i dont see why youd want to remove the algae which is trying to balance your parameters.
