Thank you Laurie! I will definitely be in touch....we are looking to find a property in Naples, FL for current investment now, then upgrade when we are ready to move in/retire. :)
I'm retired Army. Settled in San Antonio, TX about 18 months ago, however we are looking for a warmer, more relaxed environment. Hoping to put our house in SA up for sale in about 6 months, and begin the search in SW FL.
That sounds great Dave. Before you know it, you will be living in sunny Florida. If you haven't done so already, make sure you download my free relocation guide today. bit.ly/movingNaples And please feel free to reach out with any questions you may have.
Love the area. We have a vacation/future retirement condo in North Naples. Taxes are much, much lower than NY. However, the HOA fees brings up the monthly nut to what we pay up here.
The HOA fees can get pricey depending on the amenities and location that is true. You also have to take into consideration what costs are bundled into those fees that you would pay individually, such as insurance, landscaping, cable, and internet for example.
What is the feel of North Naples? Is it mainly just residential communities, pools, and beaches or are there commercial areas and other activities too. Does it feel separate from the main (southern) part of Naples?
Most people end up moving to what we call North Naples. Everything is at your fingertips, the beaches, shopping, restaurants and more. Olde Naples and the most southern end of Collier County can feel a bit away from everything but the beaches and the historic downtown areas (3rd St South & 5th Ave South).

Very nice video, I am actually going to Naples Feb 6th for a week to stay with my sister and look for a job and an apartment. I have been working in nursing homes most of my career, so I am hoping they have some nice nursing homes there. I have never been. If I find both I will be moving in March. I am hoping in a year that I can buy a condo. That way I can decide which area I like and can afford. Any information to help me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Hi Sally, There are definitely a lot nursing homes and assisting living facilities here. I am sure you will find one that will be a good fit for you. I can email you my relocation guide if you want. Laurie Rose -REALTOR - Naples Florida I lived in Spring Lake, N.J. before being called back in the Army after 9-11. Still w/ the Army, but may look to retire in Naples in the near future for the similar reasons you provide in your video👍
Laurie Rose -REALTOR - Naples Florida I lived on Salem and Second Avenue next to St. Catherine’s grammar school and jogged that boardwalk many times, although the winds off shore could be rough at times during the winter. What I like about Naples is I could jog/weight lift year round in good weather. I’m looking in the Pelican Bay Area - 2 bath, 2 bedroom in the $650-$850k range. In single w/ no dependents, so I think that’s all I’ll need in retirement.

Yes Ana, there are alligators in Naples. You can see them almost everywhere there is water, so we stay out of ponds and lakes here. Like encountering any wildlife, if you respect them and leave them alone, you will be fine. We also have bears, bobcats, panthers, pythons and crocodiles.

What about hurricanes in naples? Also, are there many singles over 65?
We do get hurricanes. We have less damage from them as the building codes have gotten stronger. There are probable more singles over 65 than under 30.
