@@No.Handle31 Sorry what. The whole point of a chain, is that it outlasts the engine and doesn't need replacing unlike a cambelt... The irony is, BMW chains USED to be like this... I'd hardly call constantly replacing a chain out of fear every 30k miles, worth it. I know many people who change them multiple times due to the well known reputation of these engines grenading themselves! Definitely not worth it for a shit engine. And the 6 pot version require the engine out to do it. Utter rubbish. New cars are designed to fail to screw you over and constantly replace them I swear. You can pull any E21-39 series out of a ditch that hasn't run in forever and it'll just work, and live forever. Just like a MK1/2 golf will. Having had 5 E36's and kicked their heads in for nearly 10 years drifting banging the limiter, I can vouch those chains outlive the car/owner.
Have mine brand new since 2012. Just reached 100k km last month and never did its timing chain. No chain rattling sound at all. Maybe because I service it twice a year that helps maintain the chain life 🤷🏻♂️ but I am looking to change it soon, as I’ve seen many people suffering from it
@@RubberAndLiquor That's only 62k miles though. They have been known to go anything from 30-60-100k miles onwards. If you've had it from new and only covered that in 12 years, it sounds like you don't drive it for long periods of time/distance? I'd definitely replace the chain etc now for piece of mind seeing as you paid full price for it brand new. I don't see how oil changes would make any difference to the design/strength of a chain. Considering the good chained engines back in the day were abused for 10-20 years by a lot of idiots who'd rag them from cold and never service them and sell them onto someone else. Especially with the drift scene and throw away pricing cars used to be.
Was the car used a 220d or a 225d if theses such a model? My reason for askong is i have a 125d and the turbo noise is nowhere the level this 2 series is
We have a kit for the N57 here - www.darksidedevelopments.co.uk/products/bmw-f-series-30d-35d-40d-3-5-performance-air-intake-induction-kit.html It's a very tight space where it sits and doesn't get hot enough to have a heat shield or any kind of casing around the filter
We have a 3.5" induction kit for the N57's - www.darksidedevelopments.co.uk/products/bmw-f-series-30d-35d-40d-3-5-performance-air-intake-induction-kit.html
We did think about this but don't think it would make a huge difference do to its location. The filter is on the 'cold side' of the turbo with the turbo and exhaust heat on the other side.
I love darkside! amazing sound
Need a B47 intake ASAP!
Coming soon!
Been waiting for a video on this, the kits in my basket 😂
sounds like its running on 3 cylinders lol
Would want to see dyno figures before and after tbh
was looking at this the other day seriously considering it :)
So cool mods for the babysss 😍
dyno runs compared to the stock filter and box would be good, see if there is any gains, stock and modified
intro was fire
Nice bit of kit 👍👍
Can’t wait to get this
Shudda done a before and after on the dyno
just need an n57 one now

@@DarksideDevelopmentsis one coming for the e9x models as well ?
Belle vidéo 👌 😉
Oooooh need that for my f32 n47d
It need a KN filter surely..... Sushhh don't tell Ryan 😂❤😊
Definitely not 😁
Need that for a B47 Biturbo :)
Oh were sooo close to that b47 intake!! 😭😭😭😭
Coming soon!
"What's that sound?" you ask? That'd be the timing chain leaving the chat #N47life 🤣
Only if its not been looked after. All these issues are maintenance or lack of it.

Also paper filter is better at filtration ,so it safer for engine.
With an open filter paper is not safer, with moisture they can collapse
Hello,What did you do with the extra piping that goes into the airbox? Like the breather or whatever it is
Original pipe joins on to our tip pipe and the breather gets blanked
Do a b47 kit for 1 series id buy it
In the works 👍
Still waiting for the Scirocco review :P

It's a 220d
@@DarksideDevelopments so a single turbo?
Out of curiosity, if it’s raining what’s it like for water intake? As it’s not sealed in is there any rain catches?
As of yet, there have been no issues. It's rare that much if any rain will enter that area
Do you guys deliver to Ireland?
We ship world wide
Need something like this for the n57 instead of the open version

@@DarksideDevelopments like said tho! Need to do one that’s closed not open so not sucking in the warm air right next to the engine!
There has been no heat issues where it sits at the moment, even with it being open

Dyno comparison
Do you make this for f10 n57?

You have a video fir the n57d???
Plenty of videos on n57's but if you want one specifically for the induction, got one here - th-cam.com/video/6abhJ4jqwgs/w-d-xo.html
Is this compatible with the pre lci 118d?
Drop us an email to sales@darksidedevelopments.co.uk with reg/vina and we can check part numbers
Will this fit the N47 in the E82 BM? Checked the site but doesn't seem so.
Just for F-series fitment with the filter at the front
@@DarksideDevelopments though as much but appreciate the response! Saving up for that 2.5k turbo upgrade kit I am 😂
Does this fit the e93 lci 2.0 diesel?
Just for the f-series bmw's
Does it have a cover for the top to stop hot engine bay air coming into the filter? Thanks :)
Once your moving it’s getting cold air from the front anyway so lids are pointless
@@ShalomBrotherPlus the Intercooler takes care of cooling too.
Surely a top cover / lid is an advantage ?
It might block out slightly more heat but would also restrict the airflow
I wonder if it would fit a 2014 X1🤔🤔

Any thought's of a N57 heat sheild??
We did think about this but don't think it would make a huge difference do to its location. The filter is on the 'cold side' of the turbo with the turbo and exhaust heat on the other side.
Can you fit one of a bmw f30 2012 my car has that engine
Drop us an email with your reg / vin and we can check part numbers
Thats fine, what's your email?
does it work on e87?
No, just for the F-series
Fits B47 on F31?
Not at the moment but we are looking into b47 induction kits
Does it not suck in hot air?
It is mainly shielded and retains the stock cold air feed
will this fit a m47 in a 2005 e46
No wrong engine and set up
😂 that comment made me laugh
Please make also a similar kit for M47 for us brother, Thank you!
Unfortunately not, sorry!
on revs sounds subaruish
Will this fit in a b47 f21 2016?
No but we have one in development
