Picard finally sounds like his old self. Power, authority and determination. He even pulls the old Picard maneuver with his shirt. Falling right back into the old routines. Finally at home.

I got very emotional as she came out of the docking bay when I saw the episode. She’s perfect. It was perfect. It brought me back to the last time we saw Bones talk to Data all the way back in Episode 1 of TNG, “Now you treat her like a Lady. And she’ll always bring you home.” Nothing could be more true with this scene. She is indeed a Lady and man did she fly one last time to bring them all home.

It wasn’t just Kurtzman. Stewart said no uniforms, no starships and no TNG reunion. After the dismal first two seasons of Picard, they brought in Matalas, a true Trekkie. Interesting note, Paramount leaped into one of the top ten streaming services during the Picard Season 3 run. Seems the word is out, the suits at Paramount love Terry Matalas.

Picard (Stewart) might have been the captain and the main character, but like so many successful shows, storylines are built around many other characters. The horns, trumpets…with the Enterprise leaving spacedock; I’ve never felt so much emotion seeing a Cgi ship.
It’s not just a cgi ship, it was my childhood reborn and flying again. I’m 39, and every time i watch this scene i feel 10 again. Set emotions to fragile, make it so.

I love how LaForge says some BS about the ship still giving him trouble (to explain why he saved its introduction for the finale) but then, within seconds and with no prep, it warps into battle (carrying a crew of 7, even though it was designed for a crew of 1,000 plus 4,000 passengers) and single-handedly destroys a Borg Cube.

    • @Groza_Dallocort

@@Groza_Dallocort : Well, yeah . . . you HAVE to say that because we see it on screen. But it doesn't make any sense at all whatsoever. Starfleet keeps active, functional, extremely dangerous weapons at a museum IN ADDITION to at its armories? It would be like the US military keeping nuclear weapons at the Intrepid Sea & Air Museum. It's ludircrous.

It was never about what the ship could do. They could always build a more advanced ship...
