Sometimes interesting design is worth it even if its slightly off -- compared just doing evolutionary design.
@@apoorvachandras Sure, but it was designed for performance first. I'm guessing a longer wheelbase would've hampered its performance. By comparison, the S5 doesn't handle quite as well as the Giulia. But I agree, it's a short car. I did appreciate it when driving it though, as you have better visibility over its shorter hood, compared to the A5/S5.

The Alfa Romeo Giulia, and not many people know this, is still the only car that got 98% (And the Stelvio got 97%, same as the model Y). If you have watched Jeremy Clarkson's clip on the GT, you'll remember him saying the B pillar is too far forward making a bit difficult to get in and out of the car if you're not slim. That's not a mistake. Moving the B pillar a few inches forward made the Giulia the safest car ever, at least for its driver. But you don't have a sexy picture of her to show off your to your friends. She'll forget to do the groceries and get's very emotional very easy, she'll be trowing plates at your head. You'll be wondering how dumb you were for picking her. But then she'll rock your world in ways other girls just never can and you forget it all. It's the type of girl/car you want to bring to your high school reunion to make everyone jealous.
Been watching this video at least 2times a month for years and now I finally can say I’m an owner of one of these beauties , hard work and thrive for the Alfa
I drove this car, because my friend had one. I used the exact same model ever since to conduct all of my personal business in ever since. No regrets. Runs like a champion.
@O 99 he goes to dealer to show that the Alfa Romeo isn't a car that is buyed by customers only for its style but for it's fun from drive and uniqness. I don't really think that he mind his opinion about the look.
I own a Giulietta 2018 manual transmission. It doesn't have the race mode, but I'm happy enough driving with the dynamic mode. It's LOUD, responsive, and truly a savour for a petrol head♡♡♡ It's reliable too ☺👍🏻 I just love Alfa Romeo ❤
I had a AR Mito until very recently (somebody crashed into it and it was written off) it only had two cylinders (.9cc) but it was the best car I’ve ever driven, I fell head over heels in love and will have another Alfa ASAP
I own a 2011 Guilietta QV manual, and I cannot disagree with the rebadged Fiat comments more, there is no inuman way that a Golf GTI or a Focus ST is better to drive than my Alfa, I am willing to put my heart on the line for that. Yes it is missing that 3.2L V6, but the 1.8T that is in it is fucking fantastic in its own right. I feel that the Guilietta gets alot of shit it doesnt deserve.
I fell in love with this car when I first saw it back in 2016-17, so much so that I had it as a background on my computer--dreaming of owning one some day. Well, after many years of hard work and dedication, I can proudly say that tomorrow I will pick up my Giulia QV in misano blue. 🍀 It all seems so surreal, and it's hard to contain the excitement. For all you dreamers out there, remember this: IT'S POSSIBLE! I plan to make a TH-cam channel for the car. What should the channel name be?

Sometimes I cry watching this, I have owned multiple Saabs, and currently have three BMWs in the garage, red is reserved for Ferrari, I think I need to own a blue Quad. My first Alfa was blue
These A-R, Giulia, Stelvio are drivers machines and are not ipads on wheels as are some of their German counterparts. The Alfas are brilliant. I have a '21 Stelvio Q4 Sport Ti, coming from 30+ years of Audis and loving the opportunity.

There are two things you don’t want to be seen getting out of: a sheep and a Mitsubishi Magna. I traded my mid-life crisis Alfa 4C (what a joy, what a car but what selfish indulgence) for a more sensible Guilia Quadrifoglio in 2018. Every day I drive it, there is joy. It is superb and one is at one with the car. 120,000kms later it may serve, as would a Camry, but it continually asserts and demands to be driven. It is the best car I’ve ever owned - and that includes a long list of Alfas and a couple of Mercs. And a Camry. But I guess you don’t own an Alfa: it owns you.
I'm a Honda guy and generally a japanese car guy, but I can appreciate cars like this so much.Sure, it's not reliable, has issues, but the driving feeling and experience must be so good. It's a real driver's car.
Excuse me Mr.Gergo Antal but where are those reliability problems. I have one with 25k miles not a single problem. Yes Alfas like Giulietta had a lot of problems but let's not make for one past model ruin the reliability of a new car just based on rumors. Own one, drive one read about it and the let's talk because even in the forums there are very few problems about this car and they're also minor problems. I love ALL car brands but never judge one entire brand reliability or quality for one bad model. P.S I'm trying to make a discussion not a complaint about your comment.
@@paolino574 I'm glad your car's been reliable! I read about some initial electrical issues so that's what I based my comment on, but it was a pretty bad decision as since I've read on many forums and other places that these cars are actually quite reliable! I stand corrected.
Alfa will never lose that "reliability" stamp, unjust as it may be. I'm not exaggerating when I say Alfas have been the most reliable for me out of everything I've owned. Owned a Giulietta for 7 years and now a Giulia. I was bracing myself for a horror show but so far.... nothing 😂

I just bought an Alfa 159 and yes it has flaws. Like the steering wheel and instrument cluster is off center to the left of the driver. But thats what it makes an Alfa Romeo, it doest have to be perfect as long as it looks good and drives perfect.😁
1:38 For the first time since the Giulia release in 2016 I am hearing someone saying that it is not a beautiful car. It is one of the most beautiful cars on the market and it is particularly strange hearing that from Clarkson who is an Alfista and GTV6 is his daily car.
The door in the wrong place really isn’t that bad. You get used to it. That being said, the way that he crawled out of it at the very end is very true. It’s low to the ground, the doors in the wrong spot and the seats are highly Bucketed. I don’t have the racing seats though like that one because they just were not comfortable and you can’t get them with heated seats

I adore mine, having had M3’s, M4’s etc in the past I can’t see me returning to Bmw for a long while
Especially now my God. Have you seen the new 7 Series? Hideous car.
Amusingly I have returned to Bmw 😂 Giulia was a great car but had some silly flaws.
@stephenlongfield8492 sad! What BMW did you switch to and how do you feel about the switch now that it's been a few months?
@@isaacr7416 He's probably lying.
Fixed a tire on one of these today, fell in love with the car instantly
😄😄😄 Yessir!
you fall in love with fast goofy looking cars?

Yes, it might not be as a reliable as a German sports car -- but it has that soul, passion and beauty that a BMW or Audi simply doesn't have
And the parts a cheaper than a bmw...😅
Probably just as reliable these days.
Different philosophies
And the badge on the front is far better and imaginative!! I
Audi or genuinly german cars dont need dreams or passion. They achieved everything the set as a goal.Practicallity,Engineering, and most important:CONSUMERS TRUST
Cars are like women.
You can have a Volkwagen: a big German girl, she's relaibale, not very pretty and a bit boring. She won't cheat, doesn't get angry for nothing and has a decent job. But you don't have a sexy picture of her to show off your to your friends.
Or you can have an Alfa: Pretty with all the great lines and curves, in a nice dress and you can't take your eyes of the rear end.
I liked this comment.
Underrated comment
She's like the secretary you keep cuz she's hot, not because she can type a letter
Identical to the one I bought only mine has the carbon seats and the carbon ceramic brakes. I LOVE HER!
Living the dream.
How is the reliability on these ?
@@yannickbanks0 I went on to buy a Stelvio Sport as well. BOTH have been ABSOLUTELY problem free. Two of the most reliable cars I’ve ever owned.

Been watching this video at least 2times a month for years and now I finally can say I’m an owner of one of these beauties , hard work and thrive for the Alfa
Jeremy, io ti amo. There are hundreds thousand cars and millions of car journalists but there is only only one jeremy clarkson.
Alfa Romeo, the art of building cars🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹❤❤❤
I drove this car, because my friend had one. I used the exact same model ever since to conduct all of my personal business in ever since. No regrets. Runs like a champion.
I don't think the wheels look too small
Well... I do. And finally someone noticed, and that someone is Jeremy Clarkson...
@O 99 he didn't say that
He only said wheels are too small, not that car looks bad.
@O 99 And on the end he goes to Alfa Romeo dealer and buy one for himself.
@O 99 he goes to dealer to show that the Alfa Romeo isn't a car that is buyed by customers only for its style but for it's fun from drive and uniqness. I don't really think that he mind his opinion about the look.
My quadrifoglio gives me the same feeling and emotions he felt my c63 amg and 911 havnt moved in 4 months since I bought the alfa
One of my favorite cars on the road right now.
Yeah I especially love the 8C Competizione, for me that's an Italian Ford Mustang!!!
I have owned my Quad for 7plus years now. I had already ordered it before this segment aired and the car is as wonderful today as ever.
Have you had any major issues with it? I want one of these!
Today I've been watching this video again.. from my own Alfa Romeo Giulia. Dreams come true.
Most interesting sedan you can buy for today's world.
Got mine yesterday watching videos about it-😂I'm in love with this car. Dreams do come true!
I own a Giulietta 2018 manual transmission. It doesn't have the race mode, but I'm happy enough driving with the dynamic mode. It's LOUD, responsive, and truly a savour for a petrol head♡♡♡
It's reliable too ☺👍🏻
I just love Alfa Romeo ❤
I have a 2016 Mito, without a turbo. But it still put’s a smile on my face every day.
@@dusankocisevic6823 yeah, I can absolutely imagine the happy feeling! ☺️
if you can upgrade to a Giulia, what makes it good is rear wheel drive
I had a AR Mito until very recently (somebody crashed into it and it was written off) it only had two cylinders (.9cc) but it was the best car I’ve ever driven, I fell head over heels in love and will have another Alfa ASAP
I test drove one a month ago and have to have one. It drives fine precision instrument. It is one of the most amazing cars I’ve ever driven
One of clarkson’s best reviews. Utterly fantastic car
It all seems so surreal, and it's hard to contain the excitement. For all you dreamers out there, remember this:
IT'S POSSIBLE!
I plan to make a TH-cam channel for the car. What should the channel name be?
Alfa Romeo Giulia quatroformagio..this was hilarious 😂
Such a brilliant piece. No better testament to the quality of this video than to say that it is what pushed me over the edge in deciding to buy a Giulia.
It is really rare to find a film on a thing that make you wanted it. jeremy and his team are able to do it, and they did !
What a film ! It is probably one of the best with the eagle speedster and the disco-volante... Amazing
GT is fantastic! I've enjoyed watching every minute. This is one of my favorite segments, as an Alfa Romeo/Huge Ferrari! fan. 1:10 , 2:38 & 8:25 !!
The best review ever done to this amazing car.
It is one of the most beautiful 4 door saloons I have ever seen, looking at buying one........lots of love from a long term hardcore BMW owner :)
I went ahead and bought one, it is epic beyond belief.....totally in love with this car, I am a petrol head, and this is the only Alfa I have ever owned, and will likely ever have - its a keeper.
The Italians really do, know how to make a car 🥰😘🇮🇹
pity they go wrong so often
Im driving an old 146 ts,and I enjoy every second while driving her .. This one is my dream, and will save every cent until I have enough money to buy one...
Hi…same to me, am still drive 146 TS, enjoy every minute while driving it…
Unfortunate we don’t have a agent to bring new segment of Giulia to Msia.
We do love the this beast!..😍✌️
my dad just picked one of these up used for a great deal, 2018, what a car! it really is a Ferrari daily driver sedan
if ferraris were chit looking
Man I miss top gear
This is from the grand tour you womble...
The exhaust is unique sounding but that powerplant’s output is astonishingly impressive for a 2.8L Turbo block.
Lanre Oladejo 2.9L 😷
This is one of my favourite Clarkson reviews. Gorgeous car (wrong colour though), amazing editing, and just the right amount of the shaved ape.
“in Alfa there were mechanics who knew how to sew gloves for the flies!!”.
E. Ferrari
@@gergoantal1066 You have my respect now. It takes a real man to accept your own mistake. Keep your head high if you do like this in real life too.
Alfa will never lose that "reliability" stamp, unjust as it may be. I'm not exaggerating when I say Alfas have been the most reliable for me out of everything I've owned. Owned a Giulietta for 7 years and now a Giulia. I was bracing myself for a horror show but so far.... nothing 😂
Got my 2019 NRing 2 days ago and I can’t believe I now own one. Bucket list checked off. ✌️

This car review is the very embodiment of the magic Top Gear/Grand Tour being to motoring.
The emotion, enthusiasm and energy from Clarkson, May and Hammond is almost palpable…
The cars… wonderfully shot and beautifully edited to create a magnificent piece of media.
Clarkson, May and Hammond stepping away from motoring journalism is a massive loss to the industry!
Thank you all for your excellent work!…
Good driver...beautiful car...excellent engine...I love Alfa Romeo.
The best review as always,Sir Jeremy Clarkson!

Really great car. Also very reliable. Modern Alfa Romeo is reliable. Have had great experience with them
Really? A friend of my father sold his after 7 months because it only made problems o.O
@@DefinitelyNotEmma Well there can always be one, and was it serviced correctly? But overall great cars,
Every alfa romeo review from the top gear cast, it's been always such a nice editing and cinematography.
Years after seeing this review and driving one for the first time I made the call to buy one. I bought a carbon copy of the car he drove and tested (very cool to basically see the car I own) being driven by the legend. Anyone shopping or thinking of these, do it. I will never own another Sedan. This is THE best car I’ve ever been in. Jeremy is right. It 100% stands up to the review.
Giulia Quadrifoglio might be the greatest four door sedan of all time
got a second hand 2017 QV. such an Irreplaceable car. Now that its discontinued here in North America by April 2024, its given me more of a reason to keep it lol
1:25 That’s actually there for a good weight distribution. If it was further back, it was mess up the weight distribution and make the car unbalanced in a high speed turn.

This car is so much fun, I’ve driven a handful of them and it really is worth it to save up for the Quadrifoglio
I always love Italian cars and Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio is one of my favourites and I love it!!!

The best beast you can get on a budget!, This year, I'll get one for sure. Right now I've a Veloce model and I very happy. Lets see!.
What passion looks like… even in 2021 💪🏼
This video actually made me buy a QV. The car makes me giggle at least once a week and it truly is so fun to drive.
I just bought an Alfa 159 and yes it has flaws. Like the steering wheel and instrument cluster is off center to the left of the driver. But thats what it makes an Alfa Romeo, it doest have to be perfect as long as it looks good and drives perfect.😁
it's ugly

For the first time since the Giulia release in 2016 I am hearing someone saying that it is not a beautiful car.
I don’t have the racing seats though like that one because they just were not comfortable and you can’t get them with heated seats
bang my head getting in and out of a 159
Im giving an update to my original comment almost 3 years (you can read it below). I own my second QV in Montreal green 2023. I have also changed the rest of my garage and I own Huracan Tecnica, GT3RS and also R8 V10 plus this continues to be my favorite car and ticks the most boxes for me. See my review of this car on my channel and others as well.
Totally agree. I’ve just ordered a 24 fully optioned as a trade in on my 2017, which I will miss as spec (trofeo white, red stitching etc) is no longer available. I also have a bunch of cars and the QV for me is ‘special’. Only people who own them know.
