How do you stay so positive? I’ve watched videos of people who’ve just lost their enthusiasm for Korea. I admire you and they way you stay happy and positive even though times can be rough. I’d love to watch a video about how you continue to stay positive.

Thank you so much for this video!! Its very helpful and Im grateful that you took the time to go in depth and explain everything. One question that I have is how did you get permission to film your students and school? Did you have to ask your school and Epik and was there a special process??
I’m so glad you found it helpful! As for your question: I asked my co-teachers, other teachers, and administration if it was okay if I filmed.

I love your advice! I’m currently doing my degree in primary teaching (I think it’s called elementary teaching in America?) in the UK as that’s where I’m from☺️ Do you think that having this will allow me to apply for EPIK without a TEFL? My degree covers a range of teaching such as literacy, maths, physical education etc. and I wonder if that would be considered when applying and also if it would give any advantages within the EPIK programme? Thanks! xx
I'm so glad my advice was helpful and that's awesome! As far as your degree, I would actually reach out to EPIK or one of EPIK's recruiters like Korvia with that question as I don't have too much knowledge around if your area of study will qualify you for not needing a TEFL when applying. However, I do think it will look really good on your application to have studied in a teaching field 😊

Do you know of anyone who went through the CELTA program in order to teach English to non-native speakers?
I do not have a bachelor’s degree yet, and I have been looking to get a CELTA in the mean time until I’m done with my studies so I can get some teaching experience in sooner.
If you are in a cot set up like you mentioned where you are incharge of the games/production more, how would lesson plans look? Since your cot is doing most of the present and practice from the textbook, do you just submit lesson plans with the produce bit? I'm overall curious what our lesson plans to submit will look like if we are in a co-teaching model vs being the main teacher.
Hi! I don't submit formal lesson plans for my classes. Usually, my co-teacher just lets me know what lesson we are teaching next and what type of activity they want me to provide, and I submit it or show it to them once I finish preparing it.
Would it be possible to get those teachers guide to purchase ahead of time so we can pracice before we go over there? Maybe I can just find them on ebay or something but who are the authors/publishing company so I know where to search?

I’m at the lesson plan part of the Epik application. Honestly, I’m stressing out more about it because I never done it before. I do have a TEFL certificate so I learned a little
bit but I just want it to be perfect I guess. Do you have any advice for people applying to Epik with this anxious feeling about having a good lesson plan on the application??
My advice would be to look at example ESL lesson plans (if they’re from teachers in Korea, even better), make sure your students are talking as much as possible, make it engaging, and also check out the Korshare website to see the type of vocabulary/expressions your students would be learning for the level you are making your lesson plan for. You can also get a sense of what type of materials we use for lessons on that website as well 😊 I hope that helps!

Ms Tayler, it wasn’t clear on the website…. Is getting Covid vaccine a requirement to teach for EPIK?
As of right now it’s not, but Korea’s regulations are constantly changing and it’s real possibility that rule will be in place for school years going forward.

Hi my name is Laura and originally I am from Europe, Croatia I have lived here for 16 years now and I was wondering can I become an EPIK if Im from Europe or is it just US, New zeland, India, Austarlia....etc
In order for you to become an English teacher in a Korean school, only the native English speaking country is qualified.
Hi, um I’m 13 and I was wondering if I could still apply to epik in like 8 years? 😅 I’m planning to go to college to learn more about English but I’m a native English speaker
The program is pretty popular, so hopefully it should still be there. I'm 18 and I'm going into college for teaching, I really want to be an EPIK teacher as well.
한글 자막이 필요합니다...영상에 한글자막이 있다면 많은 한국인들이 볼거에요....다만 한국은 성공할수록 더높은 독덕적 책임을 요구합니다.....자신은 당연한일과 권리가...한국에서는 비난의 대상이 될수 있어요......전 미국과 한국의 문화적 차이점을 객관적으로 보고 싶긴한데...잘못하면 한국인들에게 상처받을까봐....한국자막 만들어 달라곤 못하겠네요.....4만명이면 지금처럼 해도 괜찮을거 같기도 하구요..요즘은 한국에 대한 관심이 많이 늘어나서....
한국에 잘 적응하신거 갔고....행복하신거 같아서....계속 씩씩하게 사시길 바랄게요....
