      I friend of mine has one house like that but bigger so he does not need to park his cars on the street but anyway it is a pain to maintain . It is cold and even if it looks spacious do not forget that there is zero built in wardrobes and storages as in the past people had massive pieces of furnitures so at the end you get much less space.
      One day coming back from his holidays he found pieces of plaster of the living room all over the floor ...they did not survived the micro vibrations of a jackhammer his neighbour used to do up his driveway .
      Those house were the best in their time but not any more but I know that the style is nice so some people are building new ones as copies of the old ones but with all the modern technology .
      Just look at the kitchen , even redesigned it does not look great and this is because it was a place (in the basement ) were the owners moreorless never had to go because they had an in house maid.

      At price tag of £2m this house is unselleable. Who on earth is going to.she out 2 million for a house in Finsbury Park of all places? 😂
      Thats what a lot of homeowners dont realize. Beyond the £500k mark the saleability of a house plummets regardless of where it is, bc it just becomes out if reach of the incomes of the majority of the population.
      You may end up having to just keep the house and rent it out forever rather than sell

    The bedrooms are spacious, but the kitchen, basement and garden doesn’t scream £1.7m. You’re basically paying to live in Islington, North London. There are Victorian homes much bigger than this in East London and cost around half that amount. Although East London is not as glamorous as Islington, with good transport links no one cares about the post code anymore!

    I love your content and how you guys have grown. But I just feel like the quality of your content has decreased abit in terms of cinematography and enthusiasm and it’s like you’re more focused on pushing out as many videos as possible. I don’t mean to be rude of anything this is coming from someone who loves this channel. When you first started there was like more enthusiasm in your voices and there was more attention to detail about whatever house you were touring. Maybe watch some of Enes Yilmazers videos or other property tourers for inspiration. Quality will also make your channel grow.

    Beautiful old house. But sadly missed opportunity to add real value in the bathrooms with more sympathetic features. Really small and sadly cheap looking sink stands and out of proportion tiles. . When doing up bathroom it’s a great opportunity to be attractive and opulent to match the ambience. Just my thoughts having done up similar.

    Wow! A great home in an outstanding location...barely a 5 minute walk to Finsbury Park station. Nice period details and ceiling heights. Drawbacks are no closets in the bedrooms and not being able to go from any bedroom to the toilet without navigating stairs. I don't like the steps from the kitchen to the dining room. Imagine having to carry the Sunday roast from kitchen to table after having had a glass or two of wine while cooking. Oh, dear!
    Another excellent tour, guys! Thank you very much!

      it's fairly typical of houses of that era. When this was built kitchens were purely functional spaces, where a cook and perhaps a maid would work, the woman of the house would never cook, a large kitchen was not considered necessary.

    An interesting house, with scope for some improvement, especially around the kitchen/utility. Shame the windows aren’t original, and I would want to change the bathrooms, but the rooms are mostly good sizes and some nicer decor would really enhance the place. Expensive, but that’s the postcode!

      I'd be around £2,500 per year in council tax. Most of these houses aren't the most efficient, so about £150/mo on average for a family for gas/electricity. It's in zone 2 in London, so a monthly tube/bus pass will cost around £135/mo, though a lot of people will cycle.

    • @theukyankee
      @theukyankee 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Nicky L I pay about that over the entire year on average in a 4 bed home, 3 people. Winters more, summers less
