      I friend of mine has one house like that but bigger so he does not need to park his cars on the street but anyway it is a pain to maintain . It is cold and even if it looks spacious do not forget that there is zero built in wardrobes and storages as in the past people had massive pieces of furnitures so at the end you get much less space.
      One day coming back from his holidays he found pieces of plaster of the living room all over the floor ...they did not survived the micro vibrations of a jackhammer his neighbour used to do up his driveway .
      Those house were the best in their time but not any more but I know that the style is nice so some people are building new ones as copies of the old ones but with all the modern technology .
      Just look at the kitchen , even redesigned it does not look great and this is because it was a place (in the basement ) were the owners moreorless never had to go because they had an in house maid.

      At price tag of £2m this house is unselleable. Who on earth is going to.she out 2 million for a house in Finsbury Park of all places? 😂
      Thats what a lot of homeowners dont realize. Beyond the £500k mark the saleability of a house plummets regardless of where it is, bc it just becomes out if reach of the incomes of the majority of the population.
      You may end up having to just keep the house and rent it out forever rather than sell

      Not necessarily, the way mortgages work in the UK is that they'll lend up to x4-x5 your annual salary or day rate etc. So if you have a decent amount of equity built up from the housing ladder as well, these kind of properties are within reach of more people than you'd think 😁

It still has the charm of London to it and, what I like best about it, is you can go in and redo it in a way you love without having to gut all the other owners expensive but unpleasant redos. I think for the price in London, you could do a lot with this so price seems a little high but not at the same time.

    £1.75million no en-suite bathroom, no wooden floor, cellar left as is, tiny garden, regular radiator, no no integrated home environment console. This house is really a shell with no specific feature to make it stand out except the room sizes which are standard for town houses. Really sad to see what are really ordinary houses selling for almost £2mil just because of location. Crazy. Thanks both for the viewing.

    Wow! A great home in an outstanding location...barely a 5 minute walk to Finsbury Park station. Nice period details and ceiling heights. Drawbacks are no closets in the bedrooms and not being able to go from any bedroom to the toilet without navigating stairs. I don't like the steps from the kitchen to the dining room. Imagine having to carry the Sunday roast from kitchen to table after having had a glass or two of wine while cooking. Oh, dear!
    Another excellent tour, guys! Thank you very much!

    An interesting house, with scope for some improvement, especially around the kitchen/utility. Shame the windows aren’t original, and I would want to change the bathrooms, but the rooms are mostly good sizes and some nicer decor would really enhance the place. Expensive, but that’s the postcode!

      it's fairly typical of houses of that era. When this was built kitchens were purely functional spaces, where a cook and perhaps a maid would work, the woman of the house would never cook, a large kitchen was not considered necessary.

    chances are whoever buys this house will have to change the windows back to wooden sash styles cos you mentioned that it was in a conservation area, yet the house stands out against its neighbours with UPVC casement windows.

    • @LunaticDesire
      @LunaticDesire 3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      They should do so either way, the UPVC windows are an eyesore. It should not be allowed to replace sash windows with those ...

    Thankfully I live on my very rural farm,
