I have been stuck in many Land Rover on Nantucket but not because of something like this. The suspension was not being used correctly in addition it appears that the car may have not even been in neutral or been in driving gear. It's true the tires do not help at all I'm sure they're at maximum capacity. I can tell you this though and someone with MB G500's, Land Rover D90s, H1 Hummer's, Range Rover's 89 to present day it is very possible for anyone to get stuck.

There's no reason that should be stuck in the sand. She either found some two-wheel drive grocery shopping model or she doesn't know how to drive it.
22" tires, and not even using the offroad settings of the Land Rover.... driver now pays for a new front bumper
Use the air suspension next time. It looks like it was on the lowest setting. The final pull was a set up. The rover wasn't even stuck anymore.
