    It took years for manufacturers to finally rate their amplifiers RMS both channels driven at 20-20,000 hz. Now here we are 45 years later and they are doing the exact thing and acting like it’s a new and. Improved method for amplification rating’s. History repeats itself.

      The marantz cinema 30 is 53 watts per channel at 4 ohms all channels driven... 8 ohms is between 53 and 28 watts per channel, depending on how the A/B amps are set up... 🤔

      @@TurtleBones The law in the UK and EU states that the wattage on the rear panel is the maximum usage allowed under long-term and normal operation ( most of the world follows this outside UK and EU) ... It has a 760 Wattage consumption max with a760VA transformer ... The formula is very simple... Its wattage ( in this case its 760) takeaway 50 watts for the preamp section, then divide the remaining watts ( 710) by 1.3 for the A/B amplifier heat loss inefficiency @25% leaving 548 watts , then simply divide the remaining watts by the AVR channel count ( 11 )... Simple formula that works with every AVR...

      I wish they did as Harman/Kardon did in it’s time, rating their amps all channel driven on the full spectrum of frequencies, that made all the differences. I have a receiver that needs replacement because it doesn’t handle 4K or the newest surround modes, HK AVR760 it was 7x85 watts all 7 channels driven or 2x100watts with only 2 channels. The amps weighs about 24Kg and the electrical power rating is 1220 watts.

You have to ask yourself are u really going to use, like Direc live which isn't free you still have to pay for it. Which is about 450 I think. I run 2 subs if u gave more use a y adapter. Also I bet money on the DAC that you can barely hear the difference. I'm waiting till next series of Marantz by then you may hear the difference and Direc may be cheaper or even free. 😊

    Just to be clear i am not blaming this channel for the lack of that information. I've done some digging It seems that the DAC chip is the ESS9017S (S/N 120db THD+N -110DB) according to Ripewave Xpress. And as the cinema 30 looks virtually the same as the older SR8015 from the inside it will most likely deliver 220w into 4 ohms 2 channel at full bandwith according to test bench results from audioholics back in the day, maybe even more as this cooling design has an extra copper slab attached to the heatsink which the SR8015 doesn't have. My overall point is that i'm hoping these companies are going te be called out for this. In the end it will improve the quality of your content and it doesn't come across as a generic sales pitch. Instead providing potential buyers with the detailed specs we are so desperate to know.

    How would you compare the Marantz CINEMA 30 to Yamaha RX-A8A or the Sony STR-AZ7000ES. Does the Marantz warrant the additional cost? Quality of sound is my 1st consideration, dual subwoofer or lack of is a concern with the Sony, but the Sony 360 spacial sound mapping sure sounds like it would be amazing and help my current speaker layout is 9.2 that's with heights and back speakers. The Yamaha appears to be a contender based on sound quality and build. I'm planning to replace my Denon AVP-A1HDCI. I do not need amplification since I have all McIntosh amps powering the 9.2 one sub is a power sub. I will use the internal amps in the AVR to power additional ceiling speakers if I choose to add them, but that would be a future project. So reassigning the AVR internal amps or shutting them off completely would be welcome. At double the cost of purchasing another AV separate vs an AVR its just not possible at this time, so that's why my main consideration is sound quality. So tell me, am I looking in the right direction for these needs? I hope I explained it well enough...

The only benefit for the rest of us is when the manufacturer trickles down the technology to equipment the other 99% can afford. No problem with them making their money off the top 1% as long as they make great affordable equipment too.

    You mention that Marantz products can make some dynamic movie scenes sound slightly subdued. How noticeable is it? Does the Denon 6800h have the same subdued sound on some dynamic movie scene? I'm still trying to decide between the Cinema 30 and Denon 6800h? It is not an easy decision! Do you have example of slightly subdued scenes that I can compare the Marantz and Denon on?

      Our unit performed flawlessly. We wanted to give a solid overview of the product for someone to understand all the features and what it has in it compared to the older model and the Cinema 40. Of course, this won't be for everyone and it is a flagship unit and that comes with a higher cost. We always recommend that people chat with our team first to determine if this unit or something else is best for them.

    Heres the think about marketing
    , the cinema 30 looks more upscale over the 8015. Why because you say so, no it doesn't. Oh textures...oh lines...here take my money I cant feel less upscale.

    talking about transparency to consumers while not stating a 4 ohm 20-20.000h 2 channel driven rating or the type of ESS dac chip is funny and sad :')

    • @AudioAdvice
      @AudioAdvice  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Sorry you feel that way, but if you look over all of our product overviews you will find we get into great detail on both of those aspects, WHEN the mfg will tell us the type of DAC and/or power ratings. We will even look up DAC parts costs on Mouser and compare. And we will cheer on brands that double down into 4 and 2 ohms. In this case, Marantz does not provide the details.

    • @Hasjwandje
      @Hasjwandje 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

Instead providing potential buyers with the detailed specs we are so desperate to know.@@AudioAdvice

    Last Year I was going to pull the plug on a cinema 40, then I decided that maybe I would hold out and work on a full separates setup. This AVR is making me rethink that maybe I could still get separate amps for my bed layer and run my atmos speakers off the Cinema 30. I am thinking that it should sound quite close to full separates.
