    The Marzal was a 1967 Lamborghini concept car designed by Bertone. It was designed to be a true four-seater to sit alongside the Miura and the 2+2 400GT. The front and rear seats were to be accessed via a giant gull-wing door on either side and it featured a hexagonal louvered rear window.
    While the Marzal never came to fruition, the Matchbox casting did in 1969 as one of the very first models to enter the new Superfast range. While pre-production examples matched the silver of the one off concept, the model came in a bright red clear coat over silver primer. This changed over the wacky early 70s Superfast era to hot pink, salmon, and yellow. However, my favourite has to be this red from the production models. It really suits alongside the yellow tinted window piece in my opinion.

    Among the most faithful restorations of this casting I've seen. Well done, Jason! Funky of Scale Street Garage did a splendid one as well that through a giveaway is now in my collection here in New Jersey, U.S.A. Have fun with your toys! Thank you for the continued entertainment and education!

    I have one of these, still. This was our hotwheels track champ, the quickest of all the cars we had. It did have a tendency to bounce a lot from the jumps, though, made for someinteresting races.

    I don't know why but the Lamborghini Marzal is extremely hard to find...it took me almost a year to find the 1/43 version of it.
    You did a great job restoring this Matchbox Marzal...it looks fantastic 👌👌😁

    One of my favourite models. I have a fair few variations of this including the metallic blue with clear glass. I want, at some point, to restore one with the roof section also cut away with a glass roof, silver paint & clear widow piece like the original

    looks as new again, great work. especially with the front end polishing up... XD
    yatming did a casting of the same model, onlyx there they left the roof window glassed up, while closing the lower windows in the doors...

    I was emptying a pool earlier, and I was the bottom of a matchbox get exposed from the ground due to the water.Turned out to be one of these, but in very bad condition. All wheels broken sadly. But still a cool find!

    Hi Jason, great restoration as usual. Model-supplies make a replacement clear window unit for this model and I have a load of them here so I'll drop a couple in the mail for you.

    Nice resto I've just purchased an orange marzal with thin wheels which is rare I've omitted up a few if these marzals over the years they are so common apparently steve flowers model supplies can make a clear window uniform for the marzal but it's a special order item

    Congrats on the new studio Jason!
    Your restoration looks fantastic! I think it’s better than new due to the difficulty in polishing into the nooks and crannies in the base, making the details In the front and back pop. The sparkle in the paint looks great. I was thinking the exact same thing as you about the color of the glass right in the beginning of the video and had to laugh when you mentioned it.
    Keep up the fantastic work. Love your taste in music BTW. I play it for my wife and she laughs at me and says I’m stuck in the ‘80’s.

    Looking good Jason. Did this have downwards sliding in doors originally? I remember seeing a video of such a car.

    • @DieCastRestos
      @DieCastRestos  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think this was always a gull-wing concept. I didn’t read anything about downward sliding doors on the Marzal. The only car I can think of straight from the top of my head with sliding doors like that is the BMW Z1!

    • @umbertoyltp
      @umbertoyltp 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DieCastRestos Yes that's right, I looked it up - It was the Z1. Maybe the door lines on this diecast model suggested it was a split door thing, but a real picture with open doors clearly shows it was Gullwing doors.

    Wich Thread Cutter do you use? And can I use the same screws for regular wheels too? Or is there different?

    • @DieCastRestos
      @DieCastRestos  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I always use and M2 thread screw tap. The posts for Superfast and regular wheels are mostly the same kind of size.

    I have buy now M2 screws. But they are to short and the head is to small it goes through the hole. Please help me to find the right ones.

    • @DieCastRestos
      @DieCastRestos  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If they are too short then try a slightly longer M2 screw. Perhaps if the head of the screw is too small for the post you might need a washer or a regular dome headed screw
