Kinda wish Ubisoft would make 2 separate franchises at this point. 1 is more in line with the classic Assassin's Creed and the 2nd one is a mythical RPG set in hystoric time periods where gods, magic abilities, monsters, and super powers are fine.

So they changed it to suit what's become the more modern trope of popular games. I've also played since the original but I'm not so entitled as to think things will remain the same forever. God of War is a perfect example. The new ones COMPLETELY changed the gameplay, to the point that if not for Kratos being the main character, it would be a entirely different game. The reality is the series always had a fantasy aspect. Each game expanded on it and now a large portion of the game is focused on it. Just how it is. You need to take off your nostalgia goggles and grow up. Things change, whether you like it or not and complaining in a youtube comments section about how things used to be won't bring it back. If you miss it that much, the old games are still there. Go have fun.

I wish we had New Game+ for the current availabile story and have the rest added as it goes on. I really miss just going through the progression of this story and playing as Eivor made me want to be a Viking for endless nights and countless hours
God of War has an incredible NG+ and I wish all games -especially AC - would create a NG+ in the God of War format … where you get NEW sweet armour and weapons as opposed to potentially losing the ones you already busted your thumbs to get in AC

Oh yea, it was always so focused on historical accuracy, that's why the first game included a magical ancient WMD left by an entirely fictional super advanced species that pre-date humanity on Earth.
Last I played AC Odyssey, there was a mod which helped unlock all the paid costumes by entering their code. Looked amazing in my playthrough. Hopefully there is a mod like that again because I am not gonna pay a cent for a costume.

Say what you will about Ubisoft, they’re not perfect, but you gotta respect that they along with Sony are the main publishers that support single player games in big ways. The support for the AC games and Watch Dogs Legion has been impressive, a lot of the content is free as well. I was surprised with some of the support of Odyssey after 3 years
I’m a fan of the fantasy genre but you can’t create a historical franchise, add fantasy stuff on top of it and expect it to fit automatically. Either you create a fantasy world that is immersive in its fantasy features (like the Witcher 3) or you stick to a well written historical setting. Mixing both just doesn’t work for me. You’re gonna be showing off some godlike powers and people around you are supposed to be simply thinking “damn Viking raiders”?
At this point they may as well come out and say “hey we know you want an actual AC style game, but what if we added more rpg mechanics and shit that doesn’t make sense”

I already own dark souls 3 so Im good off these fantasy weapons and armor. Im interested in playing as a Viking not some half demon thing with a glowing sword like its world of warcraft.
I love Valhalla but to me it seemed easier then other AC games. I'm still playing odyssey on hard and it can be challenging. I can play Valhalla on Max difficulty right now and just destroy all enemies, I wish there was high level zealots respawning throughout the game.
The moment the game becomes easy when is when you get the perk that if you dodge at the last second the time will go slower. Since that moment, you can win every battle just by: 1. Wait for an attack 2. Dodge the attack at the last second 3. Get a few free hits or use an ability 4. Repeat
I just want new historical viking armor, i m not interesting with this new types of gear, odyssey at least had gear associated with mythology, Valhalla don't have this at this moment
The assassin/stealth damage on the armor sets sort ruins the appeal as the DotV boost at 5/5 makes this armor ideal for combat instead of stealth. Should have assigned melee and ability damage on them. Granted, I could see someone liking this for a hybrid build, but you can still use the assassin QTE to oneshot most enemies, at least where I'm at in the game. Also anyone else getting reminded of Skyrim's Vampire armor from this set? Like all they did was remove the sleeves from that and gave it mask that suspiciously looks like a Falmer helmet?

The cosmetics in this game are very beautiful to see, but I’m not into them like that I prefer the rough and tough standard looks of a Viking. The cosmetics are way to fancy for me. I hope they will make a really nice Viking cosmetic pack that looks more Viking like.
Don't hold your breath...I've been waiting for that since release. The closest we've gotten is the Einherjar set and the Anglo-Saxon armor from the discovery tour...

If Ubisoft wants to have fantasy and mythical stuff they should create a new IP instead of forcing it into Assassins Creed. Keep in mind that this is the same company that removed the crossbow from AC1 because it was historically inaccurate, but now they are adding vampires, werewolves, Asgard, etc. It’s just weird how they will give us anything but Assassins in Assassins Creed.

I paid $160 CDN for the full game when it released, which at the time of purchase said future DLC included … and now the future Muspelheim DLC is NOT included AND Ubisoft thinks 2000 helix credits for armor is reasonable ?!! Plus, the physical Orlog game I ordered last year from Ubisoft Store for $75 still has not arrived, and Ubisoft tells me it has been ‘sitting’ in a shipping container in some random province since early December. No known shipping date. No tracking number. Nice.
You don't have to buy the fantasy themed stuff. It's there for those who do want to play around in the giant sandbox that is Assassins Creed Valhalla. I like to keep my characters grounded in the Viking age, but sometimes I do like to play around with the fantasy themes.

Ghosts, werewolves, etc. it looks like we'll be seeing vampires soon. it's ridiculous. Also, they don't have a single, genuine Viking armor set for the player to wear... @@thedarkapex5327 I'm not gatekeeping. I'm simply making a point and asking a question. Why turn AC Valhalla (or AC in general) into something it's not? Why waste extra money on a fantasy outfit that doesn't even fit with the gameworld itself? Also, it's not entirely true that these mtx outfits and packs don't effect my experience. The more people buy these outfits and crave fantasy elements in the game, the more Ubisoft will begin to add fantasy elements to the base game. They've already done it multiple times in Valhalla, as I mentioned in my previous statement. They've added very poorly explained magical elements in the WotD DLC, including Balor's spear and boss battle, werewolves, púca, and Druid magic (apparently meant to be ISU, but never connected or explained). They've added ridiculous animals to ride (Lynx in the WotD) and raven designs. They've also added random unexplained animal spirits/ghosts in one of the Ostara festival's quests. Now they have a third DLC that is entirely based in Muspelheim with abilities, weapons, gear, and characters that I highly doubt will even be partially explained other than "it's Eivor's Norse mythology filter." Such an excuse/explanation can only be stretched so far before it gets overused and abused. Odyssey's Fate of Atlantis DLC in the Underworld and Elysium is a perfect example. Those worlds were so confusing and unnecessary to the overall plot of Atlantis and the ISU. If all of the over-the-top fantasy elements were restricted to just the Helix store and optional gear packs/weapons, I wouldn't care, but they're not. They're becoming more and more a part of Valhalla's identity, especially among it's post-release content.

I bought this set thinking that it just looked cool when i got the game then when i got the Valkyrie ability i was amazed. This is by far some of my favorite gear in this entire game.
Like almost ALL perks in this game, they are boring and WEAK. It's so annoying getting a perk but seeing so little impact. While in AC: odyssey with the demigod set, for example, you really felt the damage increase with the +10% all damage per item and +30% all damage set bonus. I really hope that Valhalla improves the stats/perks system via a big update. I want to see GOOD player power perks.
im torn because its clear this isnt assassin's creed anymore, but the game is still fun. now would i have bought the game if it didnt say assassin creed? i honestly dont know, but i am glad i played them because i did enjoy them. origins was amazing and loved being a mercenary. It's just clear ubisoft is keeping the name to sell copies. it sucks we wont get those grounded stories because they were too afraid to call this something new.
Honestly i think there are a few amazing looking armors for eivor, unfortunaly none of them are really viking related. Eivor is a viking. Not a knight of the whatever, ronin, steampunk knight or etc. I know every AC had its share of unique sets, but ac valhalla is the oddly of the road by now. where the cool looking viking sets?

I wish they gave you an option to earn helix credits in a longer farm way for players who can’t afford to pay. Also if we could share all of your weapons, armor, cosmetics from all other AC games you’ve played, and a customizable discount for buying certain armor/weapons packs that you want; instead of buying everything just to only get couple of items in game. I understand micro transactions are how they make money, and it’s a way for people to support the developers etc. however the Ubisoft credits you earn from playing all gamesn they should add daily and weekly bonus credit farms to collect more points to buy helix credits(or in game credits) as another way to make playing the game much more fun and get the community to be involved as well with special challenges designed for each game that everyone can participate in to reach a goal of challenging tasks. Say what you will about Ubisoft, they’re not perfect, but you gotta respect that they along with Sony are the main publishers that support single player games in big ways. The support for the AC games and Watch Dogs Legion has been impressive, a lot of the content is free as well. I was surprised with some of the support of Odyssey after 3 years

I’m a fan of the fantasy genre but you can’t create a historical franchise, add fantasy stuff on top of it and expect it to fit automatically. Either you create a fantasy world that is immersive in its fantasy features (like the Witcher 3) or you stick to a well written historical setting. Mixing both just doesn’t work for me. You’re gonna be showing off some godlike powers and people around you are supposed to be simply thinking “damn Viking raiders”?

I love Valhalla but to me it seemed easier then other AC games. I'm still playing odyssey on hard and it can be challenging. I can play Valhalla on Max difficulty right now and just destroy all enemies, I wish there was high level zealots respawning throughout the game.

The moment the game becomes easy when is when you get the perk that if you dodge at the last second the time will go slower. Since that moment, you can win every battle just by:
1. Wait for an attack
2. Dodge the attack at the last second
3. Get a few free hits or use an ability
4. Repeat
The Knight ISU Set gives you a golden angelic set of wings and a golden radiance shower.
I just want new historical viking armor, i m not interesting with this new types of gear, odyssey at least had gear associated with mythology, Valhalla don't have this at this moment

The assassin/stealth damage on the armor sets sort ruins the appeal as the DotV boost at 5/5 makes this armor ideal for combat instead of stealth. Should have assigned melee and ability damage on them. Granted, I could see someone liking this for a hybrid build, but you can still use the assassin QTE to oneshot most enemies, at least where I'm at in the game.
Also anyone else getting reminded of Skyrim's Vampire armor from this set? Like all they did was remove the sleeves from that and gave it mask that suspiciously looks like a Falmer helmet?
That QTE only gets easier/harder depending on the assassin damage you have, so if you are good at it then you will always one shot enemies with it~
I'm only back to this game until they let fight with the hood on, it's the only thing I want left.

The cosmetics in this game are very beautiful to see, but I’m not into them like that I prefer the rough and tough standard looks of a Viking. The cosmetics are way to fancy for me. I hope they will make a really nice Viking cosmetic pack that looks more Viking like.

If Ubisoft wants to have fantasy and mythical stuff they should create a new IP instead of forcing it into Assassins Creed. Keep in mind that this is the same company that removed the crossbow from AC1 because it was historically inaccurate, but now they are adding vampires, werewolves, Asgard, etc.
It’s just weird how they will give us anything but Assassins in Assassins Creed.

I paid $160 CDN for the full game when it released, which at the time of purchase said future DLC included … and now the future Muspelheim DLC is NOT included AND Ubisoft thinks 2000 helix credits for armor is reasonable ?!! Plus, the physical Orlog game I ordered last year from Ubisoft Store for $75 still has not arrived, and Ubisoft tells me it has been ‘sitting’ in a shipping container in some random province since early December. No known shipping date. No tracking number. Nice.

You don't have to buy the fantasy themed stuff. It's there for those who do want to play around in the giant sandbox that is Assassins Creed Valhalla. I like to keep my characters grounded in the Viking age, but sometimes I do like to play around with the fantasy themes.

@@thedarkapex5327 I'm not gatekeeping. I'm simply making a point and asking a question. Why turn AC Valhalla (or AC in general) into something it's not? Why waste extra money on a fantasy outfit that doesn't even fit with the gameworld itself?
Also, it's not entirely true that these mtx outfits and packs don't effect my experience. The more people buy these outfits and crave fantasy elements in the game, the more Ubisoft will begin to add fantasy elements to the base game. They've already done it multiple times in Valhalla, as I mentioned in my previous statement. They've added very poorly explained magical elements in the WotD DLC, including Balor's spear and boss battle, werewolves, púca, and Druid magic (apparently meant to be ISU, but never connected or explained). They've added ridiculous animals to ride (Lynx in the WotD) and raven designs. They've also added random unexplained animal spirits/ghosts in one of the Ostara festival's quests. Now they have a third DLC that is entirely based in Muspelheim with abilities, weapons, gear, and characters that I highly doubt will even be partially explained other than "it's Eivor's Norse mythology filter." Such an excuse/explanation can only be stretched so far before it gets overused and abused. Odyssey's Fate of Atlantis DLC in the Underworld and Elysium is a perfect example. Those worlds were so confusing and unnecessary to the overall plot of Atlantis and the ISU.
If all of the over-the-top fantasy elements were restricted to just the Helix store and optional gear packs/weapons, I wouldn't care, but they're not. They're becoming more and more a part of Valhalla's identity, especially among it's post-release content.

I bought this set thinking that it just looked cool when i got the game then when i got the Valkyrie ability i was amazed. This is by far some of my favorite gear in this entire game.
Like almost ALL perks in this game, they are boring and WEAK. It's so annoying getting a perk but seeing so little impact. While in AC: odyssey with the demigod set, for example, you really felt the damage increase with the +10% all damage per item and +30% all damage set bonus. I really hope that Valhalla improves the stats/perks system via a big update. I want to see GOOD player power perks.

Honestly i think there are a few amazing looking armors for eivor, unfortunaly none of them are really viking related. Eivor is a viking. Not a knight of the whatever, ronin, steampunk knight or etc. I know every AC had its share of unique sets, but ac valhalla is the oddly of the road by now. where the cool looking viking sets?

I wish they gave you an option to earn helix credits in a longer farm way for players who can’t afford to pay. Also if we could share all of your weapons, armor, cosmetics from all other AC games you’ve played, and a customizable discount for buying certain armor/weapons packs that you want; instead of buying everything just to only get couple of items in game. I understand micro transactions are how they make money, and it’s a way for people to support the developers etc. however the Ubisoft credits you earn from playing all gamesn they should add daily and weekly bonus credit farms to collect more points to buy helix credits(or in game credits) as another way to make playing the game much more fun and get the community to be involved as well with special challenges designed for each game that everyone can participate in to reach a goal of challenging tasks. Thanks for the breakdown of each sets!
