That said, I'd like to offer two perspectives about sex education based on mutually constructed social realities you alluded to, Dr. Doe. First, and one I'm personally familiar with, since I hail from Texas and went to High School in the early 1970s, is the idea that teaching kids about sex is likely to arouse them. We now know that the part of the brain responsible for impulse control isn't fully developed until the mid-twenties, and the increase of testosterone at puberty is enough to get adolescent males to do just about anything -- just ask any medical examiner/coroner. Not being a girl, I can't know what undergoing puberty is like, but boys get _stoopid_ . So part of the body of "everyday" knowledge for parents and educators is that boys are gonna get girls to go along with thair stoopid ideas, an' girls are gonna end up _preeeeegnant_ (quick nod to Ze Frank, there). So ya don't teach 'em 'bout sex at school 'cuz thair gonna do somethin' stoopid, an' we know how _that_ turns out. Somethin' 'bout shotguns an' bebes. The second bit of "everyday" knowledge is that talking about sex, gender and sexuality is too personal to do in public. That's why parents lobby school boards to keep sex education to a minimum, if they talk about it at all, asking succeeding generations to talk it over with their parents -- who have been taught that sex is a taboo subject. It's somethin' everbody knows -- ye cain't have teachers talk 'bout that 'round th' young uns 'cuz thair likely ta git some _wild ideas_ in thair heads an' do somethin' _stoopid_ . An' then it's back ta shotguns an' bebes. So leave it th' parents. An' churches. 'Cuz thair gonna end up in churches before the bebes come. Leave it up to th' parents, y'all! The parallel to this product would be latex lingerie. There's different thicknesses of latex lingerie. Latex lingerie varies from leotards to bras and underwear. Also, it's multi-use rather than one time use(and it can be cleaned/disinfected between uses). Like Lindsey's approval of it's use, that it has to deal more with the sensation and feel of latex that's a turn on.
This is really interesting, afaik latex can’t really be disinfected? I don’t think it’s non-porous (could be wrong). If someone’s problem is with the texture/smell/taste of oral then I can for sure see it being a good option. I know STIs can’t live outside the body for very long so in theory even if it can’t be sanitised I guess it couldn’t transmit an STI after a while. Personally tho I don’t think I’d feel comfortable with this being the main method of protection if for example I was giving oral to someone wearing latex underwear and I knew they had an STI. I also can’t see it being ‘officially’ approved for uses like this (I don’t think this single-use underwear is technically approved either though). If you are worried about a STI, getting your partner tested would be the first step. Then you know what's there, and what you might contract. I would just take the normal precautions of being clean, washing your hands, and wear a condom. The latex underwear wouldn't be a STI barrier, but it would help with cleanliness.
