Hi brother, fluval bought aqua clear a while back now and occasionally you’re still see stuff with aqua clear on it because they didn’t throw away any boxes or anything they just decided to reuse them and put Fluval also on it. I have three of the 50s that I use for emergency quarantine tanks as well as if I’m leaving for the weekend I’ll throw a 50 on one of my bigger tanks just as a caution in case the big canister goes out or something but the propellers on these models are flaky and even though I’ve mastered fixing them they are really a pain in the butt I think maybe for like a small 10 gallon tank sure but if you have plants it’s gonna clog if you have moss it’s gonna clog. But it’s still an OK situation. I love the stackable media but the propeller jams and you don’t notice for an hour or two the box gets so hot that it kills the bacteria from hot water. I think that that’s a situation that happened with most hang on backs. Sorry for blowing up your feed, but one final thought. I also really believe and seachem matrix collecting the anaerobic bacteria that only develops through months of development, but will really keep your nitrates down. The Flueval bio rings are great to start off with, but I don’t use them unless I have to or on the back up filter or something like that. Great job on the video though. Hope you can relate to some of my thoughts. 🤘🤙
How often should I actually change the media? Ive been running it on a 10 gallon for four months and have only changed the carbon bag once, haven't touched the sponge or bio
Excellent instructional video. 👍
I had one of these back in mid 80s caled the Aquaclear mini. It was fantastic.
Thanks, times have sure changed. I have had 2 100s, one 30 and now a 10. Now im really enjoying ur video. Im gonna subscribe
Theres an auqaclear 10?
Only change i woul make is the addition of a finer sponge on top of the included one and possibly some filter floss on top of that then the bio media

Is the filter adjustable?
Would it be too much current for a 5.5 gallon betta tank?
Yes it is adjustable. I don’t think it would be too powerful on the lowest setting but I’ve not got much experience with betas
I have a 20 on my 5 gallon betta tank. Just set it to the lowest flow and you should be fine. Great Filter imo. Betta seems to do just fine.
@@surevenom1 Thank you for the help!
Would this be to powerful for a betta in a 5 gallon portrait tank?
no it is for 5-20 gallon tank
100gph is not for a 20gal lol yall love some dirty ass tanks.. its always 10x the gph to tank size u need least 200gph for a 20 and so on..
