I use Sun Sun HBL-701 HOB filter ( www.amazon.in/Sunsun-HBL-701-8-Watt-Hang-Filter/dp/B018QQ5Y6E ). It is 600 lph which is about 160 gph. I have 2 of these for my 45g and they work great! They have a perfect amount of space to work with different media. I use coarse sponge, poly fiber, bio balls, and ceramic rings and that is in order. This filter only costed me $18.
Say I have a aquaclear 110 as well and I'm new to the hobby. I got my tank set up about a month ago and was wondering if I should be cleaning out the sponge as much as the activated carbon. They say once a month for the carbon. Should I be cleaning the sponge just as much?
@@Billybaum35 I actually don't use the carbon at all, and you need to replace the carbon if you're using it. I clean my sponges about once a month, but I use a prefilter sponge as well
(Hagen) Fluval Aquaclear filters rule! I fill all my Aquaclear's completely with bio-sponge material making them HOB/SPONGE filters. Over the years I found the bio-sponge is every bit as good or better than the more expensive ceramic and pumice/lava rock medias. The ceramic/rock medias get coated with bio-slime and detritus and become ineffective. Manufacturers recommend replacing half the media every other month or so. They want you to buy more! Even though It can be reclaimed with a bleach/water bath. But I prefer the bio-sponge. It's inexpensive, cleans easily, and lasts forever and a day.
Thank you, this helped. We are moving our fish to a bigger tank this week and I was planning on buying this filter. You solidified my choice, thank you
These filters really are the best setup hobs on the market media wise. I'm keeping fish on a very low budget right now so I have a mixture of sponge filters, aqueon quietflow hobs and aquatech hobs from walmart. I pretty much just run filter floss in my hang on backs and then I have a sponge filter in every tank to make sure I have enough surface area for bacteria. Regular hobs don't have the most room in them to pack the media in. Your videos are very well put together and informative. Idk why I never found your channel before but new sub here. One of these days I'm going to have a fish room and aquaclears lol. #goals
I have 9 AC110s. The only H O B fillter i run in my fish room.i fill them up with the sponge, Polly fill or polly pad like you have, aquaclear bio media, & some times carbon & phosgard by seachem. Just love this filter
Thank you for this video and other videos as well! A couple days ago I got my Aqua Clear 70 for my 29 gallon tank. Because of you! I love love this filter. I can put everything in it that I want in that filter. I think you are excellent! I use the sponge it came with, some matrix beads, some phosguard and purigean with some space to spare. I think I will use some floss in it or a bit more sponge. Thank you again Michael!
I have used the same pair of Aquarium Systems Millennium 3000s for 20 years on my 75-gallon tank. All the tubes got brittle over about 10 years of use and cracked, so I bought extras. I have now had the impellers break twice each (one broke this week), but I was stupid and didn't order extras last time they broke (like 4 years ago), and now I can't find parts anywhere. So these filters may be on their last leg due to no replacement parts. I am running on one filter and looking for replacements.
You just saved me about 90 dollars so thank you lol thought I lost my fluval110 to a power outage and I dont know a huge amount about fish tanks i got a 75 gal from my brother and he had 2 filters hooked up so I keep it that way but I was just looking for reviews deciding on what i should get to replace it so upon watching your video even tho I already know i like my fluval hearing you say twist off the motor I went and did it and cleaned it all out and by golly it worked I may however buy a back up just incase would prolly be smart just in case
I wanted the 110 version but i got the 70 version, 2 of them for my 55 gallon tank. I use sponge at the bottom, thick middle layer of filter floss media and then the bio-ring ceramic stuff on top. Gives me crystal clear water.
Best HOBs out there. I run two 110s on my 70 gal along with an undergravel filter. I have 70s on both of my 29s. I set them up the same way you do, except I do use carbon. I've used these filters for years with no complaint. Good job on the video.
Hello, I am watching videos on this filter as well as the Marineland Emperor 400 for my 65 gallon tank. It's a little confusing because some really love this one while others love the other. So I'm trying to decide which one to purchase. I bought a tank with the Marineland, Emperor already in it, but never researched it. The previous owner loved it. So, may I ask, have you ever used the Marineland...Emperor 400? and if so how do they compare? Are carbon filters really necessary, what is it they do to help the tank? there are 4 slots in the Marineland and I was wondering what goes in the gray one and what direction do they all face? lol I hope you have knowledge of the two of them, I'd love to see a comparison in your opinion. Thanks so much! Also, I am unfamiliar with the ceramic things you added? Could you explain what they are and do?
I use 2 Seachem Tidal 110s on my 75 gallon tank. I like them better for several reasons, except if you have schooling fry up near the upper third of the tank. I use Growstones for media from eBay, or Seachem Pond Matrix for bio media. The filter is self priming and has a 5 year warranty. Great job with this video 👍.
I have fluval canisters on three aquariums. Matten sponge and regular sponges on the rest. My fluval flex came with a pump. I would like to try the top fin media after seeing it. Good video.
these aquaclear filters work the best. better than my canister filters. just wish they would make a new version where the impeller shaft is supported at both ends. would make it so much quieter. ..
Nice review! Do you think having the filter floss media 1st (below the sponge) would work better since it would catch filtered out waste before it gets embedded into the sponge? or, Is there a reason to have the sponge first? Look forward to your reply. Thank You!
I think that would definitely be a more effective method of mechanical filtration! Either way it ends up going through both, but like you suggested, i believe most of the gunk would be caught in the floss first without clogging up the sponge with so much waste. Also the sponge can serve as a decent surface area for nitrifying bacteria as well as a form of mechanical filtration (however - the courser the sponge the better it is for beneficial bacteria - so usually a rougher and more porous sponge would be best for this). I believe if you want to set your media up this way it’s a great idea!
great job ... well done .. im starting a 36 starter tank . im sure im over killing my filtration .. also running a FX4 .. ty for your time .. i enjoyed .. Happy New Year ..
I have a 75gallon with 2 med. oscars and 2 silver dollars and 3 spotted silver dollar. I have be running an aquaclear 110 for the main filtration but I also run an aquaclear 30 which is only for biological filtration and extra water flow. . I do about 50-60gallons water change weekly ... at this time my tank and fish are clean and happy. My emmediate plan is for a second aquaclear 110 . Amazing filters..so simple and so versatile. When I move up to the larger tank(125GALLON) soon these filters will be perfect
About how long does it take to replace a water change for you? I’m moving my fish to a larger tank but I am trying to find a quicker way to fill it back up.
Once in a while clean, inspect and either lube or replace and lube your pump o-ring. They can leak if you allow debris and such to build up or to become brittle, this also depends on the tank supplements you use.
Its not really needed, u only really need mechanical and biological filtration in a filter. Chemical filtration in a filter is only for certain situations like removing medications that you used on fish, clearing up brownish water caused by unprepared driftwood, and etc.
I've got the exact filter and I put it up yesterday on a 75 gallon aquarium. I don't understand why it's not setting straight level. It is setting at an angel back. I kept trying to adjust the leveling device. What position should I put the leveler device? Great video! I did move it in a different spot to the right side of the aquarium and it is setting better. Should I be concerned about the filter not setting level? I have the 70 aquaclear in my 37gallon and it sets straight up.
I used the Aqua Clear filter for a few years., if the Electricity would go out, the impeller would just dry spin until I fix it. Although it says Aqua Clear on the outside the HOB is a dark colored filter. Hard to see in it. I went with a Canister Filter, which lasted me for about 8 years. The Aqua Clear lasted about 3 years. What is average life of an Aqua Clear Filter?
I haven't had issues in power outages with mine. And I'm not quite sure. I'm only a year or so into the hobby, and they've been great. I know a few that have used the same one 10+ years. Same with their Eheim jagers
I've been using my Aqua Clear for 12 years. I took my tanks down 6 months ago, we moved, I'm waiting for our house to get ready. I'm hoping when I get it set back up my filter goes back to working! I have used Rena canister filters and I like them very well but for me the Aqua Clear is just easier.
I bought a marineland penguin 200 and I’m having a hard time with adjusting the airflow to make the bio-wheel slower and not spitting water. By the sounds of the aqua clear makes it is a lot quieter then the marineland. I might just have to buy one for my 25 gallon tank.
I had a big Marineland Penguin and I am ready for a change. The MP was noisy and spit. This 75G tank will not be too busy as it will be for my Betta and a Clean-up Crew. I just got the 75G tank, so off to get the AquaClear 110 tomorrow. I am rinsing it out, testing for leaks, and rinsing the new gravel. I will take the 3 Media bags filled with Fluval Stratum and Aquatic Peat Moss to this new tank. I will be making more bags until I run out of Stratum. I also have a Marineland Polishing Floss Pad cut to fit the existing filter, but the bacteria exchange will be great. I like the idea of a pre-filter on the intake tube. I just bought a big Sponge Filter to also help keep the tank clean. I have some ideas on aquascaping this big tank and will start buying more plants, rocks, and wood. I am in no hurry to switch everything over immediately. This will be my room divider between the kitchen dining room and the living-room so it will need to be open in all sides... with the narrow end close to the wall. This is where the filter will be located and will need the glass lid to be modified to accommodate the filter. I will get the TopFin Media.
Little bit of everything. Tetra HoBs, generic HoB from walmart and an aqueon quietflow. Sponge prefilters on all of them. Media is usually just some filter floss and more foam sponge for smaller HoBs while the larger use ceramic rings or Lava rock, sponge and filter floss.
Pre filter sponge doesn’t let anything go into the filter, doesn’t that defeat the whole purpose? Since its supposed to clean the water and suck up the waste lol
It comes with 2 of the Intake tubes, and they slide onto each other. On my standard 75 gallon, the two together reach about 3/4's to the bottom. They sell additional extensions for $4 on amazon :) amzn.to/2Mdzv7X
Debating on getting this or the Fluval C4. Exactly how long is the intake tube when both are connected? I need a long intake filter to get all the debris and waste accumulating at the bottom of my tanks.
Each intake tube is 6 1/2". Plus the U shape intake piece sticks roughly 3 inches into the tank. You can buy extra intake tubes on amazon. It comes with 2, which reaches 2/3rds or more of the way into my 18" tank. The way they're made, you can cut a tube to be shorter to make it exactly how long you need it, if need to be. 3 intakes (so buying an extra for less than $5) would reach the bottom of a 18" tank and then some. The extra tubes are available here. amzn.to/2I5vMec
I'm assuming you installed it on a 75g tank? Thick rim? I was planning on using my AC70s on my new tank, but they don't fit, not even close to fitting.
Question: I need a new filter system and I am going to buy this one. My old one just has the charcoal filled bags. Can I cut the filter part off the old filter and put them inside the media in this one to maintain the beneficial bacteria during the change over? If so would I put that between the sponge and the charcoal or on top of the charcoal before the other media? I don’t want to cycle my tank by changing the filter and trying to figure out how not to do that. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I run an AC70 in a 29g "river" setup. I had it setup for corycats, hillstream loaches, otos with high flow/cooler water tank. For a typical 29, you want just an AC50 for most fish. There isn't enough adjustment (something the seachem tidals do very well) to get the flow low enough if you need to. The added space is really nice on an AC70, but it just isn't practical with such a narrow depth tank. Even on my 55g, running 2 AC70s on low, it's ridiculous how much the substrate moves when it's below the waterfall line.
I got 3 Aquaclears 20 with) extended intake pipes made from eheim tubes molded together with heat) Just an option when you have a quit big tank with low stock like me
Does the intake tube only stick that far down? It the filter really that big and didn't come with any extension tubes to get the intake closer to the substrate?
Great video, only suggestion would be no music when demonstrating how quiet it is. I’ve run these for years but never the 110. Wanted to see the size and your video really helped. Thank you
Does the water level need to be up to the top of the aquarium? I have a turtle so I'm wondering if I will have space for a basking area or if I'll need to build above the tank.
Thanks for the video. Aquaclear is definitely not the quality of a Seachem or others that have the submerged on the tank side so you don't have to prime especially when the power goes out plus they are quieter. The Aquaclear is at a much lower price point making it much more price friendly it's just not a favorite.
When your filters are running and the power goes out the only way that would be an issue is if your water level on your tank is below the impeller on the filter. Most people keep their water level near the rim on their fish tanks. So the aquaclear will start back up and run fine when the power goes back on in one of those circumstances. I used to do smaller water changes, ones that wouldn't reach the bottom of the filter intake. I never had to reprime the filters if the water didn't fall below the intake. I do 70 percent changes now and just prime the filters now. Not a big deal at all super easy. No doubt these are the best hob filters out there and most people don't realize what they say and what you should have on your tank is totally different. I would never run 1 aquaclear on a 110 gallon I'd have 3. I ran 2 110's on a 75 and found this was near ideal in terms of filtration and water movement. An aquaclear 110 on a 40 gallon breeder is also a great setup. Ideal filtration with no dead spots but also current is present which most fish enjoy.
Great video I currently have a Fluval Aquaclear 70 on a 46 gallon bow front tank. I am planning to upgrade to a 75 gallon tank pretty soon what do you think of 2 Fluval Aquaclear 70s on a 75 gallon tank?
Did you get the new tank?? Did you have to upgrade to the AquaClear 110? Did it fit? I just got a Seapora 75g, and if it wasn't for the 1/4inch lip on the inside of the rim the AC70 would have fit. I assume that lip is there for glass tops, but still really annoying and something vendors need to ask people when they are ordering their tanks. Does the AC110 fit?? I had concerns when I saw replacement intake tubes for the AC70 and 110 being the same size.
Is this filter strong enough to deal with turtle waste? I'm upgrading from a 40 to a 75gal, and I'm wondering if I should use this aquaclear one on its own, or with a fluval filter I already have.
I'm on my 3rd freaking impeller shaft on my Fluval C4 which has the same motor as the Aquaclears, i clean the impeller every time i maintain the filter. The problem is the top of the shaft isn't held by anything causing a vibration which grinds down the metal shaft. This causes noise, Fluval bought Aquaclear designed a new C series filter but never fixed the noisy motor problem.
I had a terrible whisper filter in my daughter and I's 29 gallon. Worst filter ever. Normally I run Marineland bio wheels but they always got noisy. Went ahead and got a Aquaclear 30 and I am amazed by how well these filters run. Don't think I will be messing with another filter ever after now trying Aquaclear. Well worth the few extra dollars.
love how well they work but put some weights on top of it because if the sponge fills up it pushes the cover off and the thing that holds the cartridges and sponge blocks the flow and then it emptys your tank onto your floor...im sure im not the only one thats happened to...cost me my wood floor in my bar
what supplies would you recommend to replace the filter inside the aquaclear? I 'd love to purchase a bag of filters that I can cut rather than buy the boxed one that comes from aqua clear. I notice there are at least two. the white sponge and the thin filter. I currently use fluval 50
I use the Aquaclear Sponges still. In The 110, I cut them in half (the long way, so I end up with like a sandwhich bred thing). I only use one of them, and I add 3 bags of cermic media. I use to use the Fluval Biomax (the stuff that comes with aquaclear, I just bought extra), but now I use the Top fin stuff from Petsmart (th-cam.com/video/e4EdmAkyEEA/w-d-xo.html). For polishing, I just use a Top Fin polishing pad or basic PolyFil from walmart.
I basically fill mine all the way with water before plugging it in. I just wish Hagen would make them now with the pump inside the tank. And it definitely gets going quicker if you move the intake to the slower side. Also works better if your power goes out, when it comes back on, push the intake to the slower side and it will prime faster.
I love my aqua clear. Such a versatile and reliable filter. Everyone says it doesn't prime up after losing power. I've never experienced this. It fires right up every time. And I unplug it a couple times a day when feeding with frozen brine shrimp. Plug it in, it always primes. Now the Marineland filters? Those almost never prime up after unplugging. Smh
What will happen if the filter is running but not underwater for a long time? I've kept it running in my home and due to lock down im stuck in another state and I'm pretty sure the water would've evaporated by now... Will it cause fire if it keeps on running dry? Also i have a heater running dry too... Pls help someone...
Can’t really overkill on filtering IMO, however this filter is rated for 60-110 US gallons so you’ll likely be able to step down to the model below this one in terms of size and it’ll be plenty sufficient for filtering a 30 but depends on your level of livestock as well but I would say whatever the model below is (likely rated for 30-60 gallons) would be totally fine
Had a question i installed this the water seems to be coming out good but you can hear it good then sounds like less is coming out but looks the same what can I be?
hello... I have the 110 and wanted to know form anyone. Why does the water in the HOB sometimes get too high? What am I doing wrong?.. It looks like its about to overflow.. thanks in advance joe
I've owned a couple of Seachem Tidals. I just didn't care for them, the heater thingy broke on each of them, the media bucket is a pain, and I wasn't a fan of the skimmer. That's just me though haha.
@@TrekOnTheAir no priming... I was out for 9 hrs , power was out when I was leaving, came back to a fully functional filter.. you can't do that with aquaclear.. and my heater is fully submersible so I don't use that thingy either but skimmer works 100% and quite a few youtubers in the hobby think Tidal is the best. Pectec comes to mind first..
We get quite a few power outages in the summer and I haven't had an issue with my AquaClears restarting. Everyone's got their favorites. I ran Tidals for a few months and went back to Aquaclears ;)
AquaClear is Probably the best HOB on the Market I have 9 bettas and they all have there own 10 gallon planted tanks which a filter by 9 AquaClear 20 HOB filters
If someone told me to use this HOB filter I would laugh my ass off. But I have one running my nano reef system and can’t believe it’s doing the job incredibly well. The basket system is horrific but you can mod the shit out of this product which is a big win.
I definitely don't like this filter at all. Electricity goes out here in the Bay Area, the thing burns up if i'm not home. Happened twice. Otherwise, yes it's a nice filter. My daughter in law swears by them.
Do you use AquaClears? If so, how do you set your media basket up? And if not, what do you use?

Great review man. I need more Aquaclears in my life. I have a few but all came with used tank buys, I’m too cheap to buy most things new haha
I feel it haha. I don't have as many tanks as you! I got this one for $50 through sales and coupons and such. Not to bad.
Honest question, why no carbon? Im new and just bought this filter for a 75 gallon
These are the best back filters you can buy! I have been using them for 30 years! Oh did I say the most quiet also?
I use the fluval edge one and it's very similar, any filter that flows the water upward has more space for filtration and bacteria in my opinion.
Im thnkin tidal
110 or this fluval ? Thanks . I have 75 gallon cichlid
Con Con easier is true, but I’ve had the impeller burn out two times on me. Eventually I went with a Canister Filter.
This is where the filter will be located
and will need the glass lid to be modified to accommodate the filter.
I will get the TopFin Media.
Where would you put the polishing pad? I have the aquaclear 50
What size do you cut the egg crate to fit the 110?
Where do you get your bulk polishing filters?
I use quilt batting from Walmart, as well as polishing pads from petsmart occasionally, the top fin brand.
Whatever pumps water through the media! Haha
Pre filter sponge doesn’t let anything go into the filter, doesn’t that defeat the whole purpose? Since its supposed to clean the water and suck up the waste lol
Where did you bought the filter media bag. I have been looking all over it
For a 75 gallon, do you really need two of these?
Is that In fluval box? Where have you that buy
Nice video, thanks for your views. How deep can the intake reach, I have a taller than average tank.
It comes with 2 of the Intake tubes, and they slide onto each other. On my standard 75 gallon, the two together reach about 3/4's to the bottom. They sell additional extensions for $4 on amazon :) amzn.to/2Mdzv7X
Good Job! Love it!
Hey by cutting the sponge is it any better?
May I ask if a hob filter can suck up all fish poops or just the poops near the intake?
@@TrekOnTheAir I'm just curious as to why the intake tubes are identical .Most extension pieces, are smooth.Connecting to the vented end intake tube.
Why did you take out the carbon? Are there benefits to not using carbon?
Carbon will remove liquid fertilizers and such. It's just an unneeded extra expense.
Carbon for a planted tank is not so good. But carbon is amazing on a reef tank. Honestly it’s a must on a reef tank.
I'm assuming you installed it on a 75g tank? Thick rim? I was planning on using my AC70s on my new tank, but they don't fit, not even close to fitting.
Yes... I originally was going to go with 70s as well... Got the tank home and had to go back to the store haha
I see aquaClear on Amazon but it’s not fluval and it looks exactly the same, is it the same?
Did you made thst lid yourself? Looks great
Question: I need a new filter system and I am going to buy this one.
Do you think the water flow would be to high for a 29gallon?
I do think it would be to high. I used an AquaClear 70 on my 29.
I got 3 Aquaclears 20 with) extended intake pipes made from eheim tubes molded together with heat)
Just an option when you have a quit big tank with low stock like me
Does the intake tube only stick that far down? It the filter really that big and didn't come with any extension tubes to get the intake closer to the substrate?
Great video, only suggestion would be no music when demonstrating how quiet it is. I’ve run these for years but never the 110. Wanted to see the size and your video really helped. Thank you
How much distance is needed behind the tank?
Does the water level need to be up to the top of the aquarium? I have a turtle so I'm wondering if I will have space for a basking area or if I'll need to build above the tank.
Yes, the water level needs to be up to the top. You might need to build an above tank basking platform.
Was about to buy for a turkey but that tube wont reach the water for me
Thanks for the video.
Been using aquaclears
Since the late 80s
Great video I currently have a Fluval Aquaclear 70 on a 46 gallon bow front tank. I am planning to upgrade to a 75 gallon tank pretty soon what do you think of 2 Fluval Aquaclear 70s on a 75 gallon tank?
I was going to do the exact same thing, be warned they won't fit. The rim on a 75g is much wider.
@@rekabharas9904 AC110 fits a 75g. Tidal 75 fits a 75g. AC70 does not.
Will this fit on a 56 acrylic tank
The Aquaclear 50 would work for a 56 gallon.
Good content
Thanks!
love how well they work but put some weights on top of it because if the sponge fills up it pushes the cover off and the thing that holds the cartridges and sponge blocks the flow and then it emptys your tank onto your floor...im sure im not the only one thats happened to...cost me my wood floor in my bar
what supplies would you recommend to replace the filter inside the aquaclear?
Why do you all prefer the aquaclear vs the fluval power c series?
I Use an fx6 with a 110 hob all with marinepure and poly filter. Clear water on.a 180.gallon
I’m getting ready to change out my carbon but i don’t want to replace it with more carbon. How does having 2 sponges or 2 bio max benefit a tank?
More surface area for beneficial bacteria.
I basically fill mine all the way with water before plugging it in. I just wish Hagen would make them now with the pump inside the tank. And it definitely gets going quicker if you move the intake to the slower side. Also works better if your power goes out, when it comes back on, push the intake to the slower side and it will prime faster.
I hope i can get my hands on one in Sweden. Good video! Man, i want one! :-D
I believe the motor will burn out. Not sure 100% though.
would this be good on a 30 gallon or is that overkill
Can’t really overkill on filtering IMO, however this filter is rated for 60-110 US gallons so you’ll likely be able to step down to the model below this one in terms of size and it’ll be plenty sufficient for filtering a 30 but depends on your level of livestock as well but I would say whatever the model below is (likely rated for 30-60 gallons) would be totally fine
Had a question i installed this the water seems to be coming out good but you can hear it good then sounds like less is coming out but looks the same what can I be?
anyone know why the tube is a weird cloudy color ? i wish it was the same as the filter. it would look alot bettet in the water...
My uncle gave me a 50 gallon with the same filter and he had the tank and the filter for 5 years+
hello... I have the 110 and wanted to know form anyone. Why does the water in the HOB sometimes get too high? What am I doing wrong?.. It looks like its about to overflow..
thanks in advance
joe
Seachem Tidal series is way better hob. 1.NO PRIMING. 2 Surface skimmer included 3 heater extension.. great review though
Surface skimmer was a con for me. I zip tied a sponge to block it from sucking up my guppy frys.
@@SpeekofDee yeah, I lost too many tigerbarbs to those filters. :/
AquaClear is Probably the best HOB on the Market I have 9 bettas and they all have there own 10 gallon planted tanks which a filter by 9 AquaClear 20 HOB filters
I have a 50 Two 70s and a 110 🧐 #bestfilter
If someone told me to use this HOB filter I would laugh my ass off. But I have one running my nano reef system and can’t believe it’s doing the job incredibly well. The basket system is horrific but you can mod the shit out of this product which is a big win.
Did you know that aqua cleats are known for not starting back up after a power outage
I've heard that, and I've had a dozen plus aquaclears in 20+ power outages and have never had a problem.
Mine starts right back up.
I have
Anyone know if 2 aqua clear 110s would be good filtration for a 125G FOWLR saltwater tank?
Yes, having 2 really helps with flow too
I find the flow to be too powerful for my 75 gallon. It pushing the fish around the whole tank. Anyone else have this problem?
the filtration is better with the aquaclear 110 than the tidal 110. had 2 tidals. way too much bypass. and alot of vibration..
I think it is the better filter for 75gallons..quality/ Price. You pay 100$ for filter can do the same job like a Eheim who cost 300$
can this size be used on a 20 Gallon tank? I know its a big filter, but i bought one for some other project and never got to use it.
Did you try it ? I bought one and it was to much current for my tank ,it is a 40gb
The AquaClear 110 is the hands down best HOB filter made.... End of story...
Only bad thing about them is that they all rattle, and if you cant stand the noise then they are useless.
I definitely don't like this filter at all. Electricity goes out here in the Bay Area, the thing burns up if i'm not home. Happened twice. Otherwise, yes it's a nice filter. My daughter in law swears by them.
