Thanks for watching everyone! I know this was a much longer one than usual, but I hope you liked it and had a good time watching. As I said at the end of the video, if you want to propose new entries for this iceberg, you can do so by commenting here, or using the link in the description. It will be seen by me either way :) Thanks again, and see you real soon with some more Cyberpunk lore and other such videos!
@@that_dude_with_a_switch I have somewhat :) The thing is, Bauldr's Gate is just part of the D&D universe, but if there was enough demand, I think I would cover it a bit!
For the screams at the company building, Try getting a friend and pressing the talk button on thr radio and have you friend hold another radio and see if you can hear anything at the company wall, Im asking cause I don’t have the game and just want to see if it works
Hey maybe someone already said it but the screams are real! But not through the walkie talkie though. You can hear them through an old phone that you can find in facilitys. To be more precise you have to switch to this item to hear screams and then the signal is interupt. I've tried to hear it across various locations but nothing changes wherever you are. Hope that informations was a new one for you! x)
If you didnt know you can get inside the unused outdoor facility on experimentation by using an extension ladder dropped on the pipe next to that door you showed. I've been in there myself personally and explored the whole area in vanilla. The jump to get inside is really precise, but very much possible.
As far as I'm acquainted with the Lore- The monster seems to feed on things that gives off sentimental value because it can taste the feelings and memories, just lieke how it ate the planet of gold as it could also feel and taste it's richness and wealthy form.
It's my pleasure! Could the bracken be involved in some experiments since it spawn most commonly there? Experiments are likely happening in the facility since Zeekers added beakers and flasks in U47.
Inside Experimentation - I actually got in and explored with some friends a few weeks ago after seeing the hole when running along the pipe. You can use two extension ladders to get in fairly easily and the game seemingly acts as if you are inside the facility when exploring. There is also an invisible catwalk with stairs that allows you to get up and down inside. The hole in the wall is likely the old fire escape location. I believe originally the game had some pre-determined inside areas like this then you went down an elevator to get to the randomly generated area (or there was no randomly generated area originally I cannot recall). I can get a clip together or show you how to get in using ladders if you would like
You dont even need two extension ladders for it, awhile ago I discovered you only need 1 extension ladder and a good jump to make it in, it's really cool to see inside and i agree with your point in it likely being a cut area where you would have originally started the game.
Wait, is it not blocked off by an invisible wall? I tried to get in with a jetpack a while ago and couldnt get in, I thought there was an invisible wall
@@whossname4399Yup, I have waited near a wall for as long as 30 minutes after feeding a walkie to Jeb and I can say with certainty that nothing is heard.
Since the logs are from six hundred years ago, maybe the screams have silenced since then? As in they’ve become fully digested or something to that effect.
54:20 a friend and i play the game with a mod that rollsover the extra money we get from going over quota and fill up the next quota with the remainder, we do this since it's mostly just the 2 of us playing and we'd like to explore together and mitigate the worry of losing every item we collect 3-4 quotas ago when we both eventually die by selling everything we find in the 3 days. we realized that when the rollover hits the next quota, we can keep going without being fired. each day after we don't go back to the company, the company buys the scrap for higher prices and seems to just keep increasing, so I'm guessing the buying rate is something that gets increased by 20%-30% each day and the day you get fired would increase the buying rate as well. we didn't realize that's how it works until we decided to stay on Dine for 6 straight days, since we already went over quota thanks to rollover, and the company was buying our scrap at 198%
I feel like the "Golden Planet" is referring to Earth. Something happened to Earth that caused humanity to branch out all over the galaxy. Which would also make sense why the "Boat" seeded moons and planets throughout the galaxy with Earth-based lifeforms. "The Beast" swallowed Earth and the screams that the Sigurd crew hears are the people who remained on the planet when it happened.
That's a very good thought. I hadn't even considered this but a few nights ago, I played with some friends and they brought up this theory too. I think this stands a real possibility of baing the case. Great thinking!
I reckon Gordion was formerly the golden planet, mostly because of the presence of Jeb and the description of it saying it has no surface, and both starting with G is pretty neat. Though the fact that there's buildings still standing or built after the fact does make it harder to justify.
I wonder if the building is a facade, almost like a tiny hat on top of the actual planet that maybe just houses one of the creatures mouths where humans can land while the rest of the “planet” is the creature or the creature lives under the water
Not sure if this is common in other moons but at least on gordion, when you fall into the water, your team can’t return your body to the ship, suggesting that maybe something beneath the water has eaten it, maybe Jeb extends beneath the water
A few comments that might help: - The rooms behind the Main Entrance in Experimentation can be easily accessed by jumping from the Fire Exit's staircase onto the nearby pipes and using an Extension Ladder while on the pipe. When it doesn't have anything to lean on, it will deploy perfectly horizontal, acting like a makeshift bridge. The rooms themselves seem to be the typical developer testing grounds for the different textures, sound effects and more that are normally out of bounds. - The Jester, as well as other creatures in the game such as Forest Keepers especially, can also be slowed down or even stopped using a Radar Booster which can be purchased from the store. It will be given a random name from a limited selection and the terminal user is able to request a flash command, flashing the nearby players and creatures while it is on. It will briefly stop The Jester's winding but it will also reset its speed when fully out every time it's flashed, making it extremely effective. The Forest Keepers can also be stunned by them and may lose focus if they are chasing a crewmate. - Using a quota overflow mod, you are able to skip quotas entirely by selling everything at once and the new quotas will be simply deducted from the total sum, therefore increasing The Company's buy rate with each skipped quota. The most I have gotten is 170% and using the Discord Rich Presence mod, I noticed that days that are past the deadline are being counted in the negative, for example we were on -3 days when we went back to sell. Unfortunately, this is not possible without mods.
You're right. I looked into this after the fact and I feel bad that I got it mixed up. I'll make a correction in the description. Edit: I actually just clipped the entry from the iceberg so nobody is misled.
@@j3fr0uk I understand that there are some mistakes or things that I should have clarified further. What are some things that you would add? (Or take away for that matter)
@@everberonThe comment this guy said is a little inaccurate. I haven't watched the full video so I don't know exactly what you said about brackens room. However, the room is connected to the bracken and is not just a backrooms reference. For example if bracken kills someone he will drag them into that room. So it's not just a backrooms reference
@@swabla240that's actually a myth too. the bracken drags players it kills to the room farthest from the main entrance (i think). i would guess the idea that it drags players it kills to the brackrooms arose after the myth of the room itself being linked to the bracken came about. the room doesn't indicate whether a bracken will spawn, and it isn't where bracken drags its kills.
I thought the phone thing worked everywhere though? Sigurd talks about only hearing screams happening near the company building (and he specifically says walkie talkie)
The only way the Ghost Girl can be seen by other players that aren’t the target is if she is in front of the ships camera (the one at the terminal that moves back and forth)
Tiny detail that you can type on the computer if you are the server host is the word eject. After typing it, you hear an alarm type of noise, and you're given a confirmation if you want to proceed with the action similar to going to any moon or company. But overall, it was a great video that was clearly well made.
This is also a better way to view those planets you mentioned at the end of the video, one of the only ways to do it without failing quota while orbiting those moons
@@peytonboudreaux1473An employee? Indeed, I have slept long enough. The kingdom of the Company have long forgotten to reach quota and I'm eager to make them remember
That decoy bit made me think, what if there's nothing behind that wall, just a giant blob with tentacles that cant move or even leave the planet. and when we drill in the wall we get to explore the building from the underground to up and we find an access terminal that lets us go to the actual company!
My guess is that the ghost girl is the daughter of some factory owner or the daughter of that manor's owners, she most likely passed away during the interstellar war and now haunts the moon the player arrives in, her dress looks very old-fashioned for 26th century.
This is a WONDERFUL iceberg video. Not only does it preserve the general vibe of the game and the mystery of it all despite using mods to explore some stuff but also its made with such a clear passion for the game!!! instant subscribe!

The Food Conservation poster is from WW2. It was meant to encourage reduction of wasted food through leftovers and creative use of them in new meals to free up more food for the soldiers. Community organizations such as the church mentioned on the poster were useful avenues for the government to spread recipes and information to help with food conservation efforts.
I think its possible that there is cloning or biomass imitation involved. Part of this is inspired by the "decoy suit" and the other half is sigurds degraded memeory. Alternatively its possible that jeb has some sort of mind corruption on living things. Another way this could be due to being 500 years in the future is jeb has found out how to clone the company personal but without any understanding of the functionality of the suits (most likely self contained radiation suits rather than traditional spacesuits) but because they are imitations it explains things like drowning or suffocating while seemingly having oxygen tanks on your back. Its also possible that jeb uses the people who are trapped behind the wall as this biomass which might explain why you can no longer hear the "voices behind the wall." The latter one to me seems to make more sense as it would explain a bit but not everything.
I agree with this. we know that there was a war brewing on titan (now abandoned, likely because of the war), and we know teleportation exists. we ALSO know that the computer terminal is not the same as what was used to originally document sigurd's logs due to the copyright of the terminal being so far away from the time that these logs were encrypted, and that the data has more than likely been passed down through different crews until it reached yours. not to mention, technology has developed differently in the world of lethal company, with space travel being achievable much earlier than in our world. 1. it's highly likely that technology has advanced since sigurd's logs. for example, the terminal thing being different from what Desmond and sigurd probably used, and rich's body was unrecoverable in the logs, but with a teleporter, they would've easily retrieved it. in the 500 years of the company's existence, it's likely that technology has advanced to that extent. 2. war always brings about new technology. I'm not saying the war on titan specifically brought about the invention of cloning technology. However, it's not unlikely that should cloning technology have been invented, it would have happened after the final log and because of a war. there were probably more wars after the war on titan, and on different planets, spanning on different scales during those 500 years. my theory about this is mainly based on how war seems to be subliminally emphasised. Sigurd's mention of it, and the food preservation poster that you see in the ship all the time. these are background things that get you to think about war, even if they aren't directly linked to any lore-relevant, world building, historical importance to the players in the game. 3. not to mention, with the way that the golden planet thing was treated as a myth to the common people, then it's likely some powerful government/shadow government/upper management/authoritative organisation related to the government is involved in keeping this whole thing under wraps. That's probably why the phone call Desmond traced was so far away, across the galaxy and nowhere near the actual company building. 4. continuing my previous two points, even with this higher power involved, there's no regard for the employees well-being within the company. deaths are simply replaced at least at the time of sigurd's logs. my thought is that this is the same across the board. unions and stuff are probably not well-spread across the galaxy to protect the well-being of the working class. ethical and moral dilemmas are probably quashed and would HAVE to be in order for the company to continue working as it does 500 years later and probably even longer if Sigurd's view of said company is simply "having a real job". like even Sigurd mentions the turn-over rate of the company. that would usually raise some eyebrows for people protecting workers rights, and groups that regulate health and safety just in general. such organisations and people have to be suppressed or simply not exist in lethal company lore. probably because of this government/authority pulling the strings. this is the ideal environment for war-based cloning (and teleportation?) to take place/be invented. the higher ups don't care about the common folk, so they just clone soldiers and send them out. someone dies on the battlefield and that same person is sent out once again as a clone regardless of the ethics surrounding such a practice. 5. with the way the company seems to have it's thumb in every pie and access to experimentation- a planet that was probably hidden by the government and then accessed by the company (AND every moon you can land on, the factory functions can be controlled/accessed by the company terminal?)- should cloning technology have been invented for the sake of having soldiers to keep spawning in and everything, then it's not unlikely that the company could get their hands on it. perhaps it's even become widespread during the 500 years, and so cloning on the job for things like construction on habitable planets, and other high-risk stuff is so common in day to day that nobody bats an eye when the company uses it, too. it's not mentioned in the manual, either. so it might just be common knowledge to the point that it doesn't need to be touched on. everyone knows how it works, everyone knows it's implemented. or I could be completely off base, and it just doesn't exist and that's why. however, this is all just theory and extrapolation based on very limited information. if I had to guess, ITDA would probably be involved edit: the more I re-read this the more bonkers and off-base it sounds. I mean there's very little evidence to back up my statements, but I guess that's what theories are about. Mattpat has certainly come up with weirder based on less.
1:14:39 prehaps the name experimentation is not just a Moon name but where our beloved dev. cook, try, develop or Experiment with new stuff or it WAS were they did it and figured out that it was better to do it in a empty space.
Whenever I come across a possibly fictional scientific name in a game I try to look it up and/or break it down to see if its constituent parts actually mean anything (which, for Lethal Company, they often do). Btw, I have no advanced formal education in linguistics, biology, or chemistry, most my knowledge of the subjects comes from my K-12 education and me exploring the topics in my free time. *Rapax-folium* Take the Bracken's scientific name, _Rapax-folium,_ for example. The name comes from Latin: _rapāx_ and _folium._ _Rapāx_ means "grasping" or "rapacious" - literally "inclined ( _-āx_ ) to grab ( _rapiō_ )" - and _folium_ means leaf. Considering the behaviour and appearance of the Bracken, this name makes a lot of sense. (Fun Fact(s): the word "rapacious" comes from _rapāx,_ and the word "foliage" comes from _folium._ The name "rapacious foliage" is quite fitting.) *Rubenchloria* With the fruitfulness regarding Rapax-folium, I figured that looking at the name rubenchloria would give an idea as to what that disease is. However after researching, the best I could come up with isn't even a medical condition in the slightest. Rubenchloria seems to be a combination of _rub-_ and _chloria._ _Rub-_ comes from Latin _rubeus_ meaning "red, reddish", with the prefix being used in diseases like "rubella". _Chloria_ also comes from Latin and means "chlorine", so together rubenchloria would mean "red chlorine". This is probably wrong, as I don't know what function the _en_ between _rub_ and _chloria_ serves, and also because it's late right now. (I had another idea on what the disease could be, perhaps _chloria_ is actually _chloro-_ + _-ia,_ with _chloro-_ coming from Greek meaning "green" and _-ia_ meaning something? Or maybe (and this is even more of a stretch) _rubenchloria_ is a typo of _rubenchloruria,_ which would then actually be a medical term (the _-uria_ means "substance in urine", as in the condition _albuminuria_ ), so _rubenchloruria_ would be a disease which causes the excretion of red and green something in urine. Or maybe Ruben is the name of some guy, who knows?) *Pitt Virus* I actually did find something regarding the name. Although it's a bacterium and not a virus, _Chlamydia psittaci_ is a real thing which can cause a disease known as psittacosis. Possibly, over hundreds of years the "s" could've been dropped, turning "psittaci" into "pittaci", which was then shortened to "pitt", but I wouldn't know. However a major flaw in this theory is the fact that _C. psittaci_ infects members of the _Psittacidae_ family (one of the 3 parrot families), not the _Corvids_ (of which the Mantacoil is). Furthermore, despite both families containing the most intelligent bird species, the two families are not closely related. So I guess all I can say is that either Zeekerss got the name from _C. psittaci,_ or he has a thing against Brad Pitt or something. (Bonus!) *TZP Inhalant* Although TZP wasn't mentioned in the video, it was the first scientific thing from LC I tried to make sense of. From my research, TZP, which stands for tetrazenylpurine, could in theory exist IRL. For my interpretation of TZP, it's chemical formula would be C₅H₁₅N₂₀, and it's IUPAC name would probably be _2,6,8,9-tetazenylpurine._ (For some extra detail about the structure, I based it off of _9H-purine,_ and slapped four _(2E)-2-tetraazines_ (tetrazene, H₂NN=NNH₂) onto where the four hydrogens would normally be.) I don't know how this would actually function when inhaled, but looking at the amount of nitrogens in this thing and the fact that Wikipedia describes tetrazine as "a colorless explosive material", I could probably guarantee that at least _some_ of your body will move speedily in the direction you are running. There's actually a lot of cool stuff that you could probably find by looking at the names of things in LC, like all the scientific names of the other monsters, or the numbering of each of the moons (which is based off the real system of naming minor planets like 3 Juno and 10003 Caryhuang), all of which would take multiple comments to go over but I'm too tired right now, lol. Apologies for the long comment and any nonsensical ramblings I may have written. Multiple Edits: Fixed formatting.
37:47 theory time, when Sigurd refers to being able to hear screams within the company building with a walkie talkie, he may not be referring to the run of the mill walkie talkie Within the game there is a scrap item named the “Old phone” this item has a special property where is plays audio of a person “Screaming” Sigurd may have worked at the company long before us for the old phone to become a scrap item, proof for that 1:09:18
yeah its basically like, if you are playing with less than 4 people then the extra models go unused and sit in that area until someone else joins, then it uses that model. someone i was playing with left and i used the teleporter when it was hovering over them and i got that empty player model into the ship with teleporter.
If there is anything in this game I am incredibly familiar with, it's the insanity noises, as I am often the tryhard that runs off alone in games, and holy shit are they weird, they maybe could have their own video especially because you can hear a young girl say hey and a baby crying as some of the more prominent ones. Potentially these sounds are linked to the ghost girl as I have often noticed them in tandem with being haunted and they rarely happen when I am not being haunted. My theory is that the ghost girl is the spirit of a young girl that died horribly and follows your ship around because she wants to play. She seems to play some sort of hide and seek or game of tag with the player as she will appear and run away when you look at her, looking at her three times will cause her to skip toward you and then you die from your head exploding so maybe the contact with an entity of that type causes some kind of violent and very lethal reaction within the brain. I also should clarify that my theory is that the ghost girl is the same entity on all of the moons, it's just she tends to hang around the more dangerous ones because they have a higher concentration of 'playmates' and her appearing on other moons is because she in some manner has followed the ship after her initial appearance to your crew. Just my personal theory though.
I don't have arachnophobia, I literally just use arachnophobia mode because the word "SPIDER" running at you rather than an actual spider is way more funny
1:11:10 Acetone is also used in cleaning for college level chemistry. We use large quantities of it to clean out pretty much everything particularly things that not water wouldn’t clean. Also acetone evaporates really quickly and doesn’t leave residue (that’s probably not important but it’s another cool thing about it)
Nice video, informative and very entertaining. You're very underrated, this quality and unique video style you have (even if iceberg's are a popular concept) deserve much more attention and recognition, and I also give my props for not being prideful and fixing your mistake while owning up to it about the "Bracken Room." Which even I used to think was indeed as the name implies, I only learned the truth a few days ago.
about the theory that the company revives crew members, and what if this is combined with the memory loss part? when sigurd calls to report his friend's death the company says a replacement was sent, perhaps rich was revived and sent to another ship, and maybe sigurd has no memories because he has also died a few times and every time he is revived he is sent to a new crew
The noose monster reminds me of the backrooms string monster. Oh, wanted to add that you can hear those screams around the water pipe side of the company planet, and you don't need the walkie talkie.
I reckon the reason that the company buys at a lower rate earlier, and 123% after you don’t shill out is because jeb isn’t as hungry on the earlier days, then gets very hungry after you don’t feed him
i dunno if this is common knowledge or not but theres a remote scrap in the game(that part most people should know) but whats interesting about it is that you can use it to control the lights of the ship, even when you are in the facility. while that alone could be a small fun fact entry, something this seemingly random might have some lore implications. why is something that has direct control over a ship function just laying at a scrap yard? my main theory is that these are from previous travellers who lost the remotes or were killed in the process and for some reason the remotes stopped being provided(perhaps because of a useless expense to the company?) maybe this could even indicate at future content, that zeekers is planning to add light based outside enemies or some sort of mechanic to do with light? theres a lot you can draw from this one seemingly pointless bit of scrap.
I dont know if this is the kind of thing you want included, but the presence of the massive spiders suggests to me that the atmosphere on these moons is really high in oxygen, as arthropods of that size would not survive otherwise!
37:56 while yes you cannot hear screams through the walkie, if you find an old phone and hold it in your hand you can hear screams of torment just before the line goes blank :P
The "screams" people are reporting hearing at the company building are likely the sound that the telephone makes when you have it in your hand. They are probably pulling it out to turn in and not realizing that it's coming from the phone and not the facility.
As someone who loves to go out of bounds in games the entry about that thing on experimentation is really cool, also really enjoyed the video, good job
A very qualitative video. If I think to some over viewed points of the iceberg I would have two in mind: automatic defenses and atmosphere. Why automatic turrets and land mines? Is it suppose to have a link with the "war"? Even if we know that mines can kill the mobs... it seems they don't trigger them so are they exclusively targetting humans? As for the atmosphere: what element the air of the moons is made of. You have a protection gear... but since, the creatures are the same, we may think the atmosphere of all moons is the same. Speaking of the creatures: some live outside, others inside and we know that one air is toxic for the others, like for fleas, why?
This game really has destroyed the algorithm in terms of views and popularity. And when I first saw it I was surprised to see it was from the creator of a Roblox game. After seeing a bunch of clips online it peaked my interest in its story, especially since I lt reminded me of Akuma Kira’s work on Spooky house of jumpscares. I definitely learned a lot of from this and the pacing of the video was excellent, hope to see videos like this more often.
Memory loss from being eaten/digested could just be the classic trope of ghosts losing memory of how exactly they died due to extreme trauma. This is kinda backed up by the existence of ghost girl, ghosts typically needing to communicate to mortals through electronics, and the voice freaking out as it's given more info about its current situation, like all that trauma came flooding back to it.
Honestly underrated, I didn't notice anything wrong with the audio tracks and watched the entire video with some pauses here and there. Really enjoyed the video and I hope the game adds more content so more lore gets added to the iceberg. One thing I'm surprised you didn't mention was origins of the name of the moon Gordion (you might've mention Gordion and its name origins in the video but I forgot, sorry if I'm wrong here), as i heard in another theory. Searched up "Gordion" and turns out it was the capital city of ancient Phrygia (modern day Turkey). A famous king they had was one called Midas. Although the myth of Midas' golden touch is a myth, I think this may have some sort of correlation with the Golden Planet mentioned by the man inside the walls of the Company Building, so-- maybe the myth may not be much of a myth in the world of Lethal Company. Yes, even though this is just a theory, I think it's a quite compelling one, especially thinking of how Midas' myth was one of greed and only when he noticed his golden touch was a curse was when tried eating a grape from his hands. Growing fearful, he hugged his daughter for solace, accidentally turning her into a golden statue. Leading to him regretting his choice and praying to get rid of this curse-of-a-wish. I think interplanetary wars, and the making of the coil-heads (which I'm assuming were dead soldiers turned bio-weapon from watching your video) are one prime example of greed, though I don't know how this greed is going to turn out, at the end of the game. Maybe it will follow somewhat like that of Midas' , except this time, he won't be forgiven-- but I wouldn't know for sure. Another little thing I'm adding: I don't think the drill there may have been placed by Sigurd himself but instead maybe by Desmond since he seemed to be the more craftier of the bunch (tracking the Company's call location and finding out that it's coming from somewhere else but the Company Building, as mentioned in some logs by Sigurd). It may have been placed there as a way to drill through "Jeb", killing him in the process or maybe, like you said in the video, to rescue wall guy. Once again, really good and informative video, liked and subbed, have a great day!
1:23:53 Or perhaps a future version? Maybe Zeekerss is planning on adding new ships, and simply plans on duplicating Jeb's station for each ship variant? Or maybe I'm just rambling, I would love to see new ship variants which can travel to new moons, like a leveling system.
@@dallama2616 true But consider this: Lethal Company could be taking place before or after the events of Iron Lung. Either before the "Quiet Rapture" before stars dissappear, Or many decades after the Quiet Rapture, allowing new stars to form in star nurseries and nebulas. In Lethal Company's case, the Thistle nebula.
The apparatus actually has a 70% chance to increase the minimum spawn count by 2, which means at every spawn opportunity, the game will be forced to spawn 2 new creatures, so long as the power limit hasn't been reached yet. There's multiple spawn opportunities every day, so the earlier you pull it out, the higher the risk of getting a lot of extra creatures...
Oh fun fact, if you move around a Coil Head to where they are facing away from you, their head will slowly pan over to you, this heavily implies that Coil Heads arent actually a weeping angel type thing, but they are instead just toying with their prey... so that adds a whole new level of discomfort when encountering those speedy bastards
Although that is a mod, it is still possible to find a coil head moving while you look at it but only if it hasn’t spotted you yet, also the logs state that it is a behavior and not a function that has to happen so yes coil heads are just messing with you
I have a LOT of archanophobic friends, ironic considering i love spiders, and ive heard that changing the spider model to just be the word spider has been the most effective arachnophobia toggle theyve ever used
I think Jeb is a piece of the kidnapper fox veins. He seems like a large creature made from the same material which makes me think he could be a collection of kidnappers and blood bushes or whatever they’re called
As well as the 2 aparatice insert spots, there's also an insert spot along the bottom of the drill on the side facing the building, as well as a schematic code on the ignition device near the drill
My hypothesis is that they clone players instead of straight up revival and they use the bodies of the deceased to help expedite the process which is why it’s less expensive when you return with the body. This would also explain why the employees suffer from amnesia sor something at first and when employees don’t meet quota they remove the employees entirely and no longer bother cloning them as they see them as too costly to keep as employees so they find new ones.
I remember seeing a 123 buy rate, It’s just extremely rare, so in my over 200 hours of playtime, I’ve only seen it once. Although I do t really check the company buy rate all that often.
This thought is in league with a few theories below talking about earth being the golden planet and Jeb consuming it. I always noticed that when landing on the company moon, it says, “no land masses.” Perhaps the company planet was the golden planet (or a different one) that was eaten by jeb. After jeb did what it did, the company built this facility there to have some sort of control over jeb. The reason there are no land masses is because jeb ate them. Otherwise, the company would have had to trap jeb some way on this ocean world (or possibly gas giant) which seems like a very daunting task.
my first thought about the ghost girl was it being a ghost of ur past rather than the past of the facilities bc theres only one player who she haunts and she only appears after increased insanity. and u cant remember ur past. maybe she is smth from ur past that ur subconscious remembers?
I always found the animation where the player respawns really interesting. The way they crouch over their hands and fidget with their fingers like they've never seen them before always seemed to me like evidence that the revival tech is what causes the memory problems in employees. Plus, they wouldn't remember dying so it wouldn't show up in the logs. Edit: although I just realized that Sigurd's team had memory problems without revival tech
You can fly up the wall of the company building with the jet pack, then you see a panorama picture of a earth-like settlement with cranes and normal living homes
Oh yea, you can see that from the moons that you’re on by the way, if you’re on somewhere like experimentation, once you climb the latter and turn around the look over the land in front of the main entrance, you can see it in the background. I noticed it the other day. It’s on most of the moons it’s just incredibly unnoticeable because it’s very faint. But yea cool feature :)
With the addition of embrion and Adamance, and their very, very, very large playing area (though most of it is "out of bounds", it's remarkably easy to get out, and I hope it stays that way), you can land on the ship, and run, barely making it to the edge of the world, and you can see it's an actual panorama of an actual place. It changes as you go along, you can see a highway, dozens of houses, etc. Quite the sight. The infinite void does unsettle me, though.
“Why would the company have revival technology if they couldn’t revive Rich?” Dude, the game takes place hundreds of years after Sigurd’s logs. They likely just developed or invented the technology somewhere in that time, and there could be any amount of factors that would prevent them from reviving employees that were already (long) dead by then, such as Rich. Edit: Oh wait I didn’t know you mentioned that argument because I hadn’t finished the video yet. My bad On another note, I think there is a debate on whether Jeb is the same monster that ate the Golden Planet, and given that Sigurd (just like us) probably doesn’t know what’s going on behind the scenes, I don’t think it’s 100% confirmed that Jeb is eating the scrap we bring to him. He could instead be some completely different (and probably more intelligent) monster or abomination that actively works for the company. In fact, my personal theory or headcanon is that the only scrap Jeb eats are the items that are explicitly food or drinks like the soda can. (You get paid for them because it motivates Jeb to continue working or it’s Jeb himself paying you as thanks for the meal)
Crazy that the ship might have had a phone but the crew ( you ) kept complaining and it was really a waste of time for the "company" But they were in a hurry since they needed scrap for "monstor" or smt but they still have the poster. And i think the voice when u start a new save is translated since it really seems like somthing when your translating somthing in google. the lasso man is prob gonna be used in version 50 since the developer said there are going to be new monsters and moons in version 50.
Edit i think i should put here: This video explained the logs and so much of the game in a very good and understandable way even showing me things I had no clue were there, I do not intend to sound like I know these for a fact as the mechanics I talk about are debated frequently, I also do not want to sound rude or off-putting, I mean this as sharing some data/theories others have found somewhat recently you and others may not know about. (Also sorry for the essay). 1. The apparatus doesnt appear to affect the monster spawns when playing solo (it is also rumored that on multiplayer the chance will occur *before* 2 monsters spawn.) In short, the apparatus and its affect with monsters are debated still between the data miners. 2. You forgot loot bugs, I'm assuming there's a reason behind it like they didn't seem connected to the lore and weren't related to any species we have on Earth but just making sure since I love those guys 3. About insanity and its mechanics, a somewhat popular streamer known as Insym, was testing out some theories/rumors/data he had heard from data miners, the mechanic in questioning was whether or not a person who holds an item of very high price will be more likely to be haunted by the ghost girl. They tested this out in multiple high quota runs and it turns out to be very likely mechanic as the person who held a gold bar before the round had started/loaded was haunted way more than everyone else in the runs. Anyways I think this is where I'll leave it before my brain turns to goo from trying to recall things
Good stuff to know! (Also, yeah, I just never really got an excuse to talk about hoarding bugs. I didn't have much to say about them aside form them just being in the game).
Gas giants are known to have a small solid core in the center. Maybe Jeb ate that solid core and the company building was constructed around it to get something in return from feeding it scrap.

This video has been very useful in that my friends want me to make an OC for their lethal company crew and i neither own the game nor have watched anyone play it but still have an obsession fleshing out the lore of my characters as much as possible. Great jump start on understanding what im getting into before i start going through the tediums of the lore!
If we do consider the old phone to be Sigurd and his crew’s version of the walkie-talkie, the female scream which can be heard from it might be Jess’s which might’ve gotten logged into it while she was being perished by an entity 🤷🏻♂️ and the supposed “drill” under the Company Building might be some sort of nuke to blow up the facility and Jeb eventually..
Hello, when you asked why anyone would need so much acetone, I used to work as a maintenance technician at a large factory, we would have larger quantities because sometimes, machines or constructs would be painted over several times, so to unscrew/remove and replace older equipment, you'd need the paint thinner. That's probably why it's there.
I actually think the resurrection and teleportation of the players makes more sense then at first glance as a theory. Your counterexample for why it shouldnt be true is that it isnt true when sigurd loses his coworker. But the thing is, that event happened over 400 years ago. The company probably does have ressurection technology to bring back the dead bodies. Also, when your entire crew dies on a moon, the quota isnt reset. And if you all die on a moon the day before the quota needs to be met and you dont have anything to sell, you get fired. This wouldnt make sense if every time you die you get replaced by a new employee, because if everydied then everyone that is now in the ship and that just got fired ate all new employees. It doesnt make any sense that your first day on the job you inherit the previous crew's quota of 700 credits and they didnt have any items for you to sell, so you get fired your first day on the job before you even had a chance. But if the employees are the same people as the oens that died and have been resurrected, then it makes sense for the company to punish them for not meeting their quota. TL:DR, it doesnt make sense to eject new brand new employees into space for previous employees' failures. It only makes sense if the brand new employees are actually the resurrected bodies of said orevious employees.
The player models that are out of bounds, are probably there for a smoother experience for the player, a common trick used in game development is spawning every enemy into the world when the world is being loaded, and then teleporting them to where they need to be at the time they need to be there.
Recently, in co-op (with mods, none which should affect Masked spawns) I've spotted Maskeds appearing in Assurance, Vow, and March. This is after a month of near constant play, and once each moon. So perhaps they're starting to appear in other moons at a insanely low chance? Also with Control Company, a mod that lets the host play as a monster that normally spawns in the area, Masked are actually pretty common among the potentials (although that might be due to the fact players can take a Mask to the moon and use it- it's the only monster spawn in Gordion and is normally broken if given AI control due to Gordion instantly killing Maskeds)
If its the mod I think it is, then it is a part of the mod. I don't know the name of is exactly, as when I played with it, my friend (ChiknNougat whom I mentioned in the video) was the one to set it up for our play group. The functionality you describe, removing the masks etc sounds very similar.
@@everberon the mod I have is control company, if that is a thing it does, that would explain everything lol. Nothing else in my mod list messes with monsters besides audio (Jester, and in turn Eyeless Dogs due to shared audio bug). Rest is qol, cosmetic, or new scrap

I got a bit of a theory scratching the back of my head since weeks. Not sure it holds up strong, and I don't like it (too cliché), but at least it tries to address a lot of contradictions I see in current "facevalue" lore : What if we're playing Sigurd clones, everytime, in a neverending experiment for Sigurd to expurge its inner demons ? And it's all a psychological rendition, nothing's "real" per say ? Because of suspiscious time gaps between events. Because technology gaps/disparities. Because the economy of the Company doesn't make sense, and is screaming at us "of course it's stupid to invest and risk soooo much just for a metal sheet, a nest and a honker!" Because of the looks of the mansion, the little girl, the nutcracker or jester box, the 1968 date, and so much stuff, in the 26th century ?! Because "hundreds of teams always revisit the same moons", but strangely, there's a post it from Sigurd and just 9 journals from the same guy, waiting for us, that NONE of the previous teams gathered/slipped away, hu ? And NONE of the previous teams wrote anything else since ? And the Company NEVER cleaned those traces during 500 years of constant hunts ? Also : we're travelling to distant stars, and yet Sigurd is somehow "surprised" some signals could be "far out in the solar system", and so many things looks both alien and super past-earth-like. So many things doesn't add up at all. And for me, especially with the big "amnesia" hints coming back here and there, it all sounds like we're just living a big hallucination, or experimentation, or both. Like everything should be symbolic, tokens supposed to trigger a very human and contemporary reaction to it. (and the drill/submarine sure take a new meaning in that, as well as Jebb, this obscure "Company" and so on) And the Sigurd presence is too big and scarce at the same time. Like we're supposed to reflect on him. Like we are the one tested, in all this, and the rest of the "mission" is just a facade, an excuse, a depiction. It reminds me a lot of "Salad Fingers" atmosphere, or "Destination : Void" Herbert's book. Sigurd lived something horrible, maybe during its childhood (given the common theme on this) or during a war, or in 1968. And he projected himself in a alien facilities hunt in a distant future and on distant moons. And we are Sigurd, repeating the cycle, trying to cope, maybe under a higher scrutiny or purpose to it all, but not the one we think we are working towards. That being said : if it's something along those lines, it would be pretty cliché and not very fun, for me. But it makes so much more sense than actual facevelue / 1er degree lecture.
Thank you man! Glad you liked it. (Also, I had express permission from ths company to provide this information. Just don't follow up on that claim with the legal department is all 👀)

I can get a clip together or show you how to get in using ladders if you would like
I would love to see this, it sounds really interesting.
You dont even need two extension ladders for it, awhile ago I discovered you only need 1 extension ladder and a good jump to make it in, it's really cool to see inside and i agree with your point in it likely being a cut area where you would have originally started the game.

@@whossname4399Yup, I have waited near a wall for as long as 30 minutes after feeding a walkie to Jeb and I can say with certainty that nothing is heard.
Since the logs are from six hundred years ago, maybe the screams have silenced since then? As in they’ve become fully digested or something to that effect.
i alaways thought i was going insane when i hear screams but why the old phone item out of everything?

a friend and i play the game with a mod that rollsover the extra money we get from going over quota and fill up the next quota with the remainder, we do this since it's mostly just the 2 of us playing and we'd like to explore together and mitigate the worry of losing every item we collect 3-4 quotas ago when we both eventually die by selling everything we find in the 3 days.
we realized that when the rollover hits the next quota, we can keep going without being fired. each day after we don't go back to the company, the company buys the scrap for higher prices and seems to just keep increasing, so I'm guessing the buying rate is something that gets increased by 20%-30% each day and the day you get fired would increase the buying rate as well.
we didn't realize that's how it works until we decided to stay on Dine for 6 straight days, since we already went over quota thanks to rollover, and the company was buying our scrap at 198%
It's broken so it doesn't deplete at all now. The mod creators just expect you to kindly hand in the loot on day 3 yourself
You don't have to ever leave the planet
The sell rate increases by 23.33% every day, so that way it starts at 30% and ends at 100%.

I wonder if the building is a facade, almost like a tiny hat on top of the actual planet that maybe just houses one of the creatures mouths where humans can land while the rest of the “planet” is the creature or the creature lives under the water
and gordion irl was a place, and there was a king, named Midas

A few comments that might help:
- The rooms behind the Main Entrance in Experimentation can be easily accessed by jumping from the Fire Exit's staircase onto the nearby pipes and using an Extension Ladder while on the pipe.

5. with the way the company seems to have it's thumb in every pie and access to experimentation- a planet that was probably hidden by the government and then accessed by the company (AND every moon you can land on, the factory functions can be controlled/accessed by the company terminal?)- should cloning technology have been invented for the sake of having soldiers to keep spawning in and everything, then it's not unlikely that the company could get their hands on it. perhaps it's even become widespread during the 500 years, and so cloning on the job for things like construction on habitable planets, and other high-risk stuff is so common in day to day that nobody bats an eye when the company uses it, too.
it's not mentioned in the manual, either. so it might just be common knowledge to the point that it doesn't need to be touched on. everyone knows how it works, everyone knows it's implemented. or I could be completely off base, and it just doesn't exist and that's why.
however, this is all just theory and extrapolation based on very limited information. if I had to guess, ITDA would probably be involved
edit: the more I re-read this the more bonkers and off-base it sounds. I mean there's very little evidence to back up my statements, but I guess that's what theories are about. Mattpat has certainly come up with weirder based on less.

*Rapax-folium*
Take the Bracken's scientific name, _Rapax-folium,_ for example. (Fun Fact(s): the word "rapacious" comes from _rapāx,_ and the word "foliage" comes from _folium._ The name "rapacious foliage" is quite fitting.)
*Rubenchloria*
With the fruitfulness regarding Rapax-folium, I figured that looking at the name rubenchloria would give an idea as to what that disease is.
Or maybe Ruben is the name of some guy, who knows?)
*Pitt Virus*
I actually did find something regarding the name.
(Bonus!) *TZP Inhalant*
Although TZP wasn't mentioned in the video, it was the first scientific thing from LC I tried to make sense of.

This is a great breakdown of some of the terms here! Great work and a very interesting read. Thank you!
37:47 theory time, when Sigurd refers to being able to hear screams within the company building with a walkie talkie, he may not be referring to the run of the mill walkie talkie
Within the game there is a scrap item named the “Old phone” this item has a special property where is plays audio of a person “Screaming”
Sigurd may have worked at the company long before us for the old phone to become a scrap item, proof for that 1:09:18
The Floating player models on every map is actually where dead players go
yeah its basically like, if you are playing with less than 4 people then the extra models go unused and sit in that area until someone else joins, then it uses that model. someone i was playing with left and i used the teleporter when it was hovering over them and i got that empty player model into the ship with teleporter.
Also acetone evaporates really quickly and doesn’t leave residue (that’s probably not important but it’s another cool thing about it)
Acetone, glass cleaner, deionized water is my preferred method. I can't stand when people leave residue behind...
@@toomuchglitters7254 Agreed, it feels like no one cares about having clean glassware
Thank you, i'm glad you enjoyed it!
about the theory that the company revives crew members, and what if this is combined with the memory loss part? when sigurd calls to report his friend's death the company says a replacement was sent, perhaps rich was revived and sent to another ship,
and maybe sigurd has no memories because he has also died a few times and every time he is revived he is sent to a new crew
The noose monster reminds me of the backrooms string monster.
Oh, wanted to add that you can hear those screams around the water pipe side of the company planet, and you don't need the walkie talkie.
Fire video gamer🔥🔥🔥 Honestly really well done and can't wait for the next one!!
I reckon the reason that the company buys at a lower rate earlier, and 123% after you don’t shill out is because jeb isn’t as hungry on the earlier days, then gets very hungry after you don’t feed him
i dunno if this is common knowledge or not but theres a remote scrap in the game(that part most people should know) but whats interesting about it is that you can use it to control the lights of the ship, even when you are in the facility. while that alone could be a small fun fact entry, something this seemingly random might have some lore implications. why is something that has direct control over a ship function just laying at a scrap yard? my main theory is that these are from previous travellers who lost the remotes or were killed in the process and for some reason the remotes stopped being provided(perhaps because of a useless expense to the company?)
maybe this could even indicate at future content, that zeekers is planning to add light based outside enemies or some sort of mechanic to do with light? theres a lot you can draw from this one seemingly pointless bit of scrap.
Extra thing with the snare fleas, if you leave the building while it’s on your head it will go away
As someone who loves to go out of bounds in games the entry about that thing on experimentation is really cool, also really enjoyed the video, good job

Thank you! I'm glad you had fun watching! I'll definitely be revisiting Lethal Company lore later in time!
The 2 viruses sounds like Names, Pitt and Ruben, which maybe be hints to developers or people that were in general helpful to create the game
I am big fan of this game, so seeing your video thumbnail was a sure thing to get into deeper topics of this game. Thanks man 🙏
Love this video! The time and dedication is insane!
Thank you! 😅
1:15:57 i got into there with 2 extension ladders, drop them diagonally so that they dont fall through the ground
I didn't know this about Gordion! That is a very cool peice of info. Thanks for sharing and i'm glad you liked the video!

Or perhaps a future version?
Maybe Zeekerss is planning on adding new ships, and simply plans on duplicating Jeb's station for each ship variant?
Or maybe I'm just rambling, I would love to see new ship variants which can travel to new moons, like a leveling system.
I just saw a great fan theory online:
Lethal Company and Iron Lung share the same universe
Honestly I'd find that very interesting if it were true
Unfortunately, that is debunked by the fact that you see suns from every moon. There are no more sun's in Iron Lung's universe.
@@dallama2616 true
But consider this:
Lethal Company could be taking place before or after the events of Iron Lung.
Either before the "Quiet Rapture" before stars dissappear,
Or many decades after the Quiet Rapture, allowing new stars to form in star nurseries and nebulas. In Lethal Company's case, the Thistle nebula.
@@BrambrewMaybe even the Company failed, and Jeb started eating stars, or something wild like that.
This function is actually a mod, and not vanilla. But, it's very cool despite that.
Although that is a mod, it is still possible to find a coil head moving while you look at it but only if it hasn’t spotted you yet, also the logs state that it is a behavior and not a function that has to happen so yes coil heads are just messing with you
@spotlesstank8800 fair enough, I just wanted people to be aware that coil heads' heads facing you was a mod.
I remember seeing a 123 buy rate,
It’s just extremely rare, so in my over 200 hours of playtime, I’ve only seen it once.
“Why would the company have revival technology if they couldn’t revive Rich?”
Dude, the game takes place hundreds of years after Sigurd’s logs. They likely just developed or invented the technology somewhere in that time, and there could be any amount of factors that would prevent them from reviving employees that were already (long) dead by then, such as Rich.
Edit: Oh wait I didn’t know you mentioned that argument because I hadn’t finished the video yet. My bad
On another note, I think there is a debate on whether Jeb is the same monster that ate the Golden Planet, and given that Sigurd (just like us) probably doesn’t know what’s going on behind the scenes, I don’t think it’s 100% confirmed that Jeb is eating the scrap we bring to him. He could instead be some completely different (and probably more intelligent) monster or abomination that actively works for the company. In fact, my personal theory or headcanon is that the only scrap Jeb eats are the items that are explicitly food or drinks like the soda can. (You get paid for them because it motivates Jeb to continue working or it’s Jeb himself paying you as thanks for the meal)
for anyone wondering, i think the footage from 1:24:13 is a test room from crab game, but i could be entirely wrong
Amazing video! As a viewer u can really tell it took you a very long time to create. Keep em coming!
2. You forgot loot bugs, I'm assuming there's a reason behind it like they didn't seem connected to the lore and weren't related to any species we have on Earth but just making sure since I love those guys
Tech support just got outsourced to India. That’s my theory on why the call was coming from so far away. 🤷♂️
Gas giants are known to have a small solid core in the center. Maybe Jeb ate that solid core and the company building was constructed around it to get something in return from feeding it scrap.
Amazing material. I watched it from beggining to the end and couldn't stop for a moment. Absolutely great job!
Hope this will see an update when most of these entries are probably solved by following updates that are released for the game. Great video.
Splendid video. The company would love this.

I believe that the Old Phone will broadcast screams when at The Company Building
51:32 fun fact! They CAN move while being looked at, it is just a sick game they play.

@@Shadria1996 one of the recent bug patches under ControlCompany states that they fixed a bug in the mod that made Masked spawn on moons they shouldn't.
I got a bit of a theory scratching the back of my head since weeks.
Not sure it holds up strong, and I don't like it (too cliché), but at least it tries to address a lot of contradictions I see in current "facevalue" lore :
What if we're playing Sigurd clones, everytime, in a neverending experiment for Sigurd to expurge its inner demons ?
And it's all a psychological rendition, nothing's "real" per say ?
Because of suspiscious time gaps between events.
Because technology gaps/disparities.
Because the economy of the Company doesn't make sense, and is screaming at us "of course it's stupid to invest and risk soooo much just for a metal sheet, a nest and a honker!"
Because of the looks of the mansion, the little girl, the nutcracker or jester box, the 1968 date, and so much stuff, in the 26th century ?!
(and the drill/submarine sure take a new meaning in that, as well as Jebb, this obscure "Company" and so on)
And the Sigurd presence is too big and scarce at the same time.
Personally, if he did make the binoculars obtainable, I’d want them to stay comically large.
The poster is actually art by William Tasker and was created as part of the WWII War Services Project between 1941 and 1943.

Finally, some quality lethal company content
There's been a lot of quality videos about the game, most from small yt channels, which is amazing! hope they grow a lot, this one included ofc
