  • In this video I show how I mounted a cheap winch to my garage floor to help me pull cars into the garage since our house sits on sort of a hill. I bought the winch from Harbor Freight some years ago.

I did something similar in my garage, but I used a HF 12 volt winch in my garage upstairs to lift lawn mower/snow blower and cafe table, bags of ice melt and etc. Works great!!!

We bought a house with a little single car garage but it’s got a real narrow steep driveway I have to get my non-running Nova into. Don’t know if I’ll have buddies available to push plus it would be nice to be able to move it in and out. I’m stressing!

Nice work! I have concrete walls as well and trying to find a way to bolt to them with the winch on the up right position. This may be my best option though. Thanks for the video!!

Cool. I am worried about the rusted '77 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme sitting out in the driveway and the city wants it gone. But I can't part with it, and I guess if I can get it on wheel dollies and someone helps with pushing it into the garage or some way I haven't thought of.

Great idea. My only concern is if you want to be able to remove and re-attach at will the first time you remove the tapcom the thread is gone and holding power will diminish just because how brittle concrete is. If you want this option I would go with female threaded flush anchors.

I have been thinking about doing this. This video gave me confidence that it will work. I will be using concrete anchors instead.

how is it holding up a year later?

Good idea how’s the tap cons holding up? I’d think anchors would hold up better in long run. I too have a similar drive way and hate to see my car roll
