I think Neymar prefer conical studs more simply because he was playing in Hypervenom 1, he has a custom conical studs sole plate. Maybe he’s going back to the conical plate because Nike dont have custom soleplates for Mercurials.
Yes, but like I mention in the video, it got to a point where he was getting the Mercurial stud pattern put on his custom Hypervenoms. If this was a preference thing, he would have been wearing Vapors with a conical stud pattern from the start when he made the switch, and that has not been the case.

If your foot is planted for one specific position and then you change the direction of your foot without lifting it, such an aggressive stud pattern will have you stuck in and so with so much for being put on your ankle because you cleat doesnt want to turn with your foot you will break your ankle, ALSO dont forget that neymar's favorite soccer cleats ,the hypervenoms, had circular studs
Why would Brazil not be a top contender? They have an amazing squad with tons of world class players. Their attack will be lethal and the best of the tournament imo. The only other real contender, for me at least, is Germany.
Cohesion. You can have a squad filled with individually gifted world class player. But if they are unfamiliar with each other’s style of play or can’t play together well as a unit. They won’t win against an opponent that isn’t as star studded but plays together well as a team.
That's why I didn't mention Belgium as a contender. They have a team full of superstars just like Brazil but I've never seen them play well enough together to give them a real chance. I believe that Brazil has that cohesion and will be able to pull it off but, no one knows for sure so we'll have to wait and see at World Cup.

I had ankle injury and I can definitely feel the difference between fg and ag. My ankle feels some pain after wearing fg but not ag. When I was recovering after ankle injury, I go with tf first and then to ag and fg.
If you look at 4:34 you can see the grass is cut extremely short so it would make sense to wear the AG since it has the shortest stud length. I'm sure he saw this and as we know Neymar is QUITE picky with boots. He's just being smart and protecting himself, I'm pretty sure if it was raining and the grass was cut higher he would've worn SG or FG.
Given that he has only worn the Ag-Pro stud pattern since returning from injury, I'm not sure that the playing surface had too much to do with his choice to wear the AG-Pro version.

The ball looks round when you looks at it, but when you hold it, you can feel the seems making it more of a hexagonal shape. Is this normal? Ideally you would want one pair of FG boots and one pair of AG boots. Technically Adidas boots are FG/Ag, although they're definitely more FG than they are AG. Same goes for the Puma Future.

Alright I have a question. I need new boots for the new season and our team has a firm ground pitch but 90% of the other teams in the league have an AG pitch. The split sole construction of the new Mercurial might be problematic when it comes to custom stud patterns, or at least implementing stud patterns from other boots.
That's just it, they're all so similar it's hard to say that one is definitively the most aggressive! I think the new X stud pattern is the most aggressive, but the difference in comparison to all of their other boots is fairly minimal.

Ryan Ryan the collar does not serve any protection purpose, it's just there for an aesthetic standpoint. it's not as if that collar can actually protect your ankles, it's made out of flyknit. besides, vapor 12 and superfly 6 are basically the same shoe.

Exact same scenario. Had torn my ACL and needed conical studs and always loved the vapors, but found them too aggressive. The AG version is a godsend!

Man, been recovering from my ankle injuries for months. I think the boots caused them all. FG on AG pitches probably caused it.
