    They are using new, light boots to kick old, heavy balls. Of course they will feel rock hard. Put some old Adidas Copa Mundial boots on and try them again.

    I stopped playing football in 2003 so the Fevernova was the last ball I was playing with. You could really feel the jump from Tricolore to Terrestra to Fevernova. But back then a stinging foot meant that you hit the ball right. You also should have put on the boots we had back then. Hitting an Azteca with copa mundial or Kaiser 5 boots isn't as bad. Modern football boots are more like socks.

    And they say players today are better cause they score more goals, finish the season with more points.

    Respect to the old legends of the game

    • @Debbiebabe69
      @Debbiebabe69 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Do they 'score more goals' though?
      Modern strikers only have such big goal tallies because of the proliferation of 'one striker' tactics. Just look at how FEW goals players other than the one striker score these days compared to even 15 years ago. Look at the current England team, after Harry Kane you have Saka on a pitiful 11 goals, and then.... Harry Maguire! IE the centre back! Actually Magure is injured and so is not playing in the current Euros, meaning Englands 3rd top scorer is Foden on FOUR goals!!!!!
      Compare to the 'Fevernova' days when England had Rooney, Owen, Beckham, Scholes, Gerrard, Joe Cole, Lampard all on double figures.....

    I was born in '81, played with Etrusco and Questra as a kid. I loved both - although they did hurt sometimes.
    Then the "unreliability" (as put in the video) started to show up and I didn't like it; I might've felt like a grumpy oldtimer during my teens already. To me, the credit of a long goal or free kick must be 100% on the shooter, and the goalkeepers must be given the chance to a save based on their skills for trajectory estimation and quick reaction; any random deviation of the ball perverts the game.
    I'm happy that the latest balls seem to be more "reliable". "It does what you expect it to do" says the lad; well that's all we need.

    I was brought up in the nineties, and I remember my first interaction with a professional football in 1998 as a very young goalie. It felt 3 times heavier than what we'd usually play with. But the grip on the ball was much better on the other hand.

    I remember playing with the 1986 ball for the first time when I was 13. It felt so lightweight, almost unreal compared to what was the standard back then, the Telstar.
    And he says it is heavy? Damnit. Should have tried later ones

    2:54 we’ve heard that from the jabulani

  • @beany1987

    Calling the teamgeist unpredictable when the jabulani is up next is a understatement. The jabalani is by far the most unpredictable ball ever made.

    • @Debbiebabe69
      @Debbiebabe69 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Unpredictable or uncontrollable? Jabs were unpredictable but they were *controllable* - hit them with side and they would perform reliably, hit them with no spin and they would veer wildly at the point they hit a certain speed - a good forward could control this so they veered wildly JUST in front of the goalie.
      Fevernovas on the other hand were uncontrollable. Hit them straight, they went up. Hit them with left or right, they went up. Hit under them, they went up. Hit over them, they went up. Say 'fk this' and toe punt them, they went up. You could not strike dead balls with any power as you knew the things would just home in on the moon rather than the goal.

    Some of them are gonna be hard to even shoot with mid power because you used today technology boots which doesn't match it's leathers so you should buy every boots from their Era and make a tier again

    The Questra’s my favorite because of its design and durability. That World Cup took place a year before I was born and I have a couple Questras with my collection.
