Colombia (surprising that they went out)
Italy (surprising after they won the euro’s then loose to Macedonia)
Egypt (I mean Salah couldn’t do anything about it, just cruel)
Peru (cruel considering what’s happening to that country, and haven’t qualified for 2 World cups in a row since 1982)
New Zealand (cruel, they got an offside goal that would’ve had a chance of sending them to the World Cup, similar case with Peru against Uruguay and Italy in another match)
Nigeria (surprised, they always make world cups and face Argentina, but this year they sat it out)

This World Cup was so incredible, even if my country was eliminated in the quarter-finals, between the 5-1 inflicted on the Spanish by the Netherlands, the jewel of James Rodriguez, the superhero volley of Van Persie to the final victory of Germany against an exceptional Leo Messi during this World Cup, obviously passing by the 7-1 of the Germans against the Brazilians, orphans of an equally incredible Neymar. In short, I would so love to return to this summer of 2014 which was so intense, so emotional and so football too. 8 years this World Cup already, and nobody is about to forget it.

Van Persie's goal looked super spectacular, James' goal I've seen repeated on a number of occasions, but let's admit it, the most technically difficult to execute was the Tim Cahill goal ... anyone that has played football will tell you this!!

100%. James’ has more flare, but it was lucky he was marked poorly to be able to juggle it like that. Cahill was marked, and had to one shot volley over his shoulder on his weak foot mid run. Much more difficult.
If Cahill's goal was scored by any of the top teams it be number 1. The 2 goals before van persies did not deserve to be on the list. Robins goal was unreal and James probably deserved it how well he played, but Tim's goal considering all aspects wrong foot how clean it was just everything about it was flawless.
I was at the Colombia vs Uruguay game with my brother. Two grown men crying when James scored that. I can't explain the emotion but t this days the best memory I've ever had with my little brother. Of course we are Colombians.

Both require militairy precision on the assist, whilst the striker runs at the exact amount of pace, knowing what will follow suit. Its just that RvP will score a header, and Cahill scores a volley.
I would give the benifit to RvP' goal if i would have to choose, because of the beauty, but also as an underlaying defeat to Spains' reign of the football world as a nation. But Cahills' is basically just as amazing. There is almost nothing between these in my book. Rodrigues' was crazy too, but not comaprable to these other 2. All my opinion ofcourse. I respect any opinion diffrent to mine. Let that be clear :)

Eh, If you look at it closely it kind of looked like he fluked it. It's not in a great position and it gets lucky to become flicked off the crossbar. He also wasn' looking at the keeper then shoots it straight at him. Definitely a great goal, but no where near the best of all time

2018 was the most unpredictable World Cup of all time. It was madness. You did not knew what was going to happen. The only predictable thing in 2018 World Cup was France winning. 2018 World Cup had last minute drama, amazing goals, emotional moments and top-class performances and matches.
You can not compare World Cups. Every World Cup is different. That is why it is a World Cup afterall.

2014 was the best world cup ever. I'm from the Netherlands and I'm so proud of what we achieved. Is it sad that we lost to Argentina in the semi-finals? Yes. But this tournament injected the Netherlands with so much pride, excitement and companionship. That's what sport is all about. It brings us together across the globe!
