This reply may be rather late as it has come after 5 years, but I can't just let you see people represent themselves like *this*. I apologise on behalf of the disrespectful people in your replies and I can't blame you if you lost faith in the internet. People really don't think about what they say online. I hope that your Holy Communion classes are going really well and that you enjoying your life and living in the way Christ taught you to. I may not be the same religion as you but I can sympathise with wanting to spread the message in a sweet and effective way 💖 Don't let these myopic people bring you down!
Great video! I would love to see it and share it in Spanish as well. So many Latinos do not receive the Eucharist each week because they know they haven't been to Confession. A good explanation like this would really help get them to receive both sacraments.
Then get saved, and actually get him already. Done of course by trusting the gospel, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
Great video except that I wish it was redone to mention that, as in Mass, the priest is acting in persona Christi. He is not only helping God, but in acting in the person of Christ through Apostolic succession and Holy Orders.
I'm embarrassed and scared to say my sins that I'm going to confess but deep down I understand it's for my own good and it must be done for me so that I may find peace in the presence of our Lord
I like this explanation as an introduction to a lesson for my students. They're preparing for their first confessions this next year and, as middle school students, I feel this is a better explanation for them to understand why they're doing this. Thank you!
Excellent video, I'm a proud son of the catholic church in Mexico as millions are. But unfortunatly as different religions come our faith is proven, and many confusions come. This video takes one of dozens of questions to be answered, and you made it simple, true, and funny. Hopefully you make more material for our brothers in spanish :) Greeting from Mexico
The less material this guy puts out, the better. He is keeping people away from simple faith in Jesus Christ, and worse off, trusting in your good works to be saved.
It is clear that a combination of faith and works of onedience to God save us. Those who only believed and did nothing Jesus instructed them were cast out of Heaven upon their deaths.
WRONG, the scripture makes it clear in Ephesians 2 8:9, and the lesser known verse, Romans 4:5 . THAT almost *word for word says* ( In terms of wanting a verse to say such a thing, the wording is obviously vastly different ) you don't have to work to be save, and in meaning it *ABSOLUTELY DOES* .
IDK Think in the following, salvation will be as a party, where everybody is invited to (by faith, described by Paul), the rest is your effort to be as clean as possible, to make enough efforts so when he goes to the party the host is proud to have him in the party. Otherwise he will need a time to be cleaned prior to enter. Blessings
Salvation works on a completely individual basis as to whether or not you are saved though. Works accompany salvation, BECAUSE a person is saved, and BECAUSE God is in them. A person by reason of having God himself in them ( By faith, not eating ) will work whether he likes it or not. But that is NOT what is being taught here. Catholicism clearly teaches works salvation, works to BE saved, or STAY saved.
Don't mind the trolls (IDK, Patoi) - Jesus conferred the authority to his apostles to forgive sin and they handed it down for generations. Thank Jesus for doing this for us!
I have the desire and I have done it before. But I m too prideful, lazy and procrastinate to go. I really want to feel clean and while again but my will gets in the way. I m too stubborn and hard hearted. I have the desire to do what is good and want to do it but through temptation and trials I fail. Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on me the sinner and bring me to healing(confession) once again
I pray that you have been to confession. God will cleanse and renew the soul. Remember the clean shiny feeling you get when you go. It seems like you can do anything for God with of course the right intentions.
Father, I have not confessed in nearly 40 years. I'm worried as how to attend. I don't mean to be disrespectful. I'm in the UK, in Scotland. I don't know if it's different here, how you attend? I have stuff that I need to say. I can't even remember how to genuflect, or even say the confessional words? I'm asking for his help? Peace be with you and yours
This is just a tradition that forces people to feel guilty and then "cleanse them" of all the things that you want to be considered sins. You force people to look back on their regrets and then say that only God can make them feel good and not be tortured forever for them. It's a cruel torture to force people to stay with the church.
I loved the video, but may I give a suggestion to the author of it, if you who posted may have the opportunity to get in contact with him. But, the thing is... You'd better say that telling your sins to the priest is important because all sins have a consequence in the society so the need of getting to a priest and confessing it is a way to reconcile with the society too. I mean it, cuz as you guys emphasize so much that Only God forgives, you may give people the idea, by the way the Protestant idea that " if God forgives why do I need to tell it to a man" n you could have shown that Saint James' quote, on Saint James 5,16 " Confess your sins to one another". That's a tip you can give to the person who has created the video :)
You don't need to thank me! :-) We are one family! :-) We are One Body! One Body of Christ! :-) One Church! So, I felt I could say and you guys would understand, as we are from the same family and what unites us is our faith in the One, Holy, Catholic, Apostolic and ROMAN Church! :-) how happy I am to be CATHOLIC! :-)
+Gabriel Khouri Fonseca It's good to go to reconciliation, it's healthy and it strengthens us. It is against our own Catechism that confession is required for someone to go receive the mercy of God though. This isn't an apologetic video, it's a primer!
+Blake Hite I know what you mean, as I said before, i believe it's a good video, there's only that detail I said before, but, for many people, this video already teaches so much. I'd call it a video for people who are away from the Church and this is a simple way it teaches about Confession. In my humble opinion, I think sometimes we have to be pedagogical first and apologetic later... :)
our father art in heaven hollowed be thy name thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven give us this day our daily bread forgive us our trespases and those who trespase against us lead us not into temptation but delevier us fron evid amen
I agree that being born again is important! Jesus commands it (Jn 3:3,7). As Catholics we have been born again through baptism. Jesus told Nicodemus, "No one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water ans Spirit" (Jn 3:5). Paul spoke of God's gift of "the bath of rebirth and renewal of the Holy Spirit" (Ti 3:5). Paul told the Romans that "we who were baptize into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death... so that ... we too might live in the newness of life" (Rom 6:3-4). Water baptism is the physical sign of and instrument for bringing about the spiritual rebirth. In baptism we are regenerated into new life in Christ.
Oh no. We get baptized into Christ through a different Baptism. There are SEVEN Baptisms. Literal Baptism today, is a Baptism of public confession of Christ, as a Biblical and important ordinance that should always be done WHEN AVAILABLE. I am saved, WITHOUT it. In that passage, its talking about the physical ( water ) and spiritual ( Spirit ) . This is apparent, in that he doesn't even hit Baptism again if I remember correctly throughout John. Even if he did, he more importantly makes such an incredible emphasis on believing only ( TO BECOME SAVED ) , with emphasis on works being tied to being *FRUIT*, and NOT at all something TIED to salvation, but a RESULT of salvation, in chapter 15.
Found it,i watched this in my school because my school will start the confession on march,my teacher lets us to watch this cause you know,it was in the file folder in her usb she told us that its voiced by our second cle teacher mr. sarga everyone became questioning so i searched it on youtube this is the vidieo.
But Jesus gave the apostles the authority to forgive sins: After Our Lord breathed on his apostles, he said to them: “Receive the Holy Spirit. For those whose sins you forgive, they are forgiven; for those whose sins you retain, they are retained” (John 20:22). And don't forget that priests have to go to Confession too!

Hello! I was wondering if you could activate french subtitles for this clip? I have a lot of french teachers that would love to use this clip with their students if it was available in french. Thank you!!
The Protestants who hate and ignorantly criticize the Church God created (in favor of a man made one !!) need to understand that Catholicism is the MOST faithful to the Bible ......John 20:21-23 """ Again Jesus said, "Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you." And with that he breathed on them and said, "Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive anyone's sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven." Luke 10:16"Whoever listens to you listens to me; whoever rejects you rejects me; but whoever rejects me rejects him who sent me." Matthew 16:18-19 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I shall give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven and whatever you bind on Earth shall be bound in heaven. """ Need I say more ??? (via Aaron ... Thanks))
In the Old Testament, it is always commanded to Rejoice, and in the New Testament, Jesus says Fear Not. It's funny that the church chooses to do this once a year when it'd be better to do this once every month as a constant reminder that when we confess our sins, He is just and faithful to forgive us of our sins. That's why Jesus ask us to do the Holy Communion often to be reminded of His finished work for the forgiveness of our sins.
TO GO TO CONFESSION: Confession/Contrition/satisfaction ----------------------------------------------------------- Examine your conscience, Be sorry for your sins, make a firm purpose of amendment to further sin no more, do penance for your sins.....
Penance, that isn't in scripture, and neither is confession for salvation out side of confessing to God that you are sinner while you finally put your faith in the gospel, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
Yeah and only the blood of Jesus Christ can wash sins, not some tradition loving papist. You can NOT add works to faith to be saved. It must be faith in what Jesus did ALONE. Romans 3:4 ? This work out ? This work out with your plan of salvation ? Straight up saying that you don't have to work ? Repent.
Yeah, and the Bible says in Romans 4:5 "But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness." And it declares right below it, in verse 8, the blessed doctrine of imputation. LEGALLY speaking, I am 100% perfect, and am clothed in Jesus Christ's righteousness, LEGALLY speaking. Physically I am still a sinner.
Hmm, the video says we have to go to Confession every year (hopefully we go much more often!), but the CCC says once a year for serious sin, and the footnote refers us to canon 989 (I think, or thereabout) which specifies grave sin, which is mortal. Seems the Church discipline requires mortal sins to be confessed yearly. If anyone has a legit reference stating the Church requires the confession of venial sins yearly, please post it in a reply for me. Thanks in advance.

Can you go to confession before confirmation? I’m not officially Catholic (I have a very lengthy and complicated Christian background), but I have been researching Catholicism over the past year. Confession seems to be what I need. (Your welcome for the vagueness 😂)
I just confessed not too long ago for 2 very important sins. I actually started to cry towards the end. At the same time though I felt a heck of a lot better. I just have to do my best to make the best of life worthwhile.

Luke 10:16"Whoever listens to you listens to me; whoever rejects you rejects me; but whoever rejects me rejects him who sent me."
Matthew 16:18-19 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I shall give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven and whatever you bind on Earth shall be bound in heaven.
Can you go to confession before confirmation? I’m not officially Catholic (I have a very lengthy and complicated Christian background), but I have been researching Catholicism over the past year. Confession seems to be what I need. (Your welcome for the vagueness 😂)
You may go to confession once you have received first communion.
What if it is my first time to confess?

Why hasn’t YNW Melly gone to reconciliation because he has murder on his mind
I just confessed not too long ago for 2 very important sins. I actually started to cry towards the end. At the same time though I felt a heck of a lot better. I just have to do my best to make the best of life worthwhile.
