The UK was on the up-and-up from 1998 upwards until 2012. Part was started under Major but Blair and Brown and the Labour people weren’t in it only for themselves( and people like themselves)… whatever you think about the Iraq debacle, they were trying to make a better place and largely succeeding..

There’s always money for vanity projects, but none for the things we need like social housing and social care etc. I’d love to know where our council tax money goes too, because my 85 year old Mum who’s suffering from cancer doesn’t get any social care, and she’s paid her way and done the right thing for decades.

Hs2 is a waste but Labour supports the 150 billion spent on this. 10.4 million people have arrived on the UK since 2004 - of this 6.2 million have settled here under the EU settlement scheme, and 2.8 million have arrived from Middle East, Asia and Africa. The UK is full and we need to stop importing people en mass that are low skilled, require benefits, the NHS, schools etc.
My mother is a teacher, she would confirm that schools cannot afford to recruit teachers, and that the standards are dropping.

They've cut everything over the last 13 years that they have been in power. The standard of living before the Tories came to power was so much higher for normal British people.
They have been feeding on our jealousies and dark elements of our characters for years but now we get it. They do it to distract us so they can get their mates and pay masters contracts.lets finish the tories once and for all

@@deanburns8174 you're a clown, we didn't "have to have" austerity, we were *forced* to have "austerity" so that the bankers and the shareholders could keep all their profits and bonuses while the poor pay the bill nstead. There wouldn't have been austerity under Labour, because they would have taxed the rich, and the banks instead. But the banks, bankers and the rich don't want to pay more tax or make less money, so they crashed the system to get their Tory friends into power, who would then shift the bill and the deficit, from the rich and onto the poor instead. Hence the last 13years of the rich getting richer and paying less taxes while the poor starve and get worked into the ground.
