I don't know, she can certainly put on a good animated performance, but all it really accomplishes is that Johnson gets to be just as theatrical, and that is very much his home soil. Starter might not look as "alive" as Johnson or Rayner, but the whole calm, measured professional contrasts so strongly with the way Johnson wants to play the game. 5% VAT on fuel being mandatory for members of the EU is now no longer applicable to any member of the EU as this rule has been dropped due to the Energy crisis.

I don't know, she can certainly put on a good animated performance, but all it really accomplishes is that Johnson gets to be just as theatrical, and that is very much his home soil.
Starter might not look as "alive" as Johnson or Rayner, but the whole calm, measured professional contrasts so strongly with the way Johnson wants to play the game.

EU member states have control of their own VAT rates. They all differ quite radically. Many of them lower than Britain now. It is a barefaced lie that we had to leave the EU to have control over VAT.

Hate to tell you it but they do. Thats why Hungary stsrted with the Russian and Chineese vaccines even before the uk started jabbing. EU members can also control there border to a larger extent than you may think for example UK chose to retain its right to independent border control and is entitled to check the identity of every individual entering the country. EU law does not provide nationals from other EU Member States with an unlimited right to enter or remain in another EU country. In the uk for example other EU members could only stay 3 months without any conditions or formalities.

Johnson said during the EU referendum that they would be able to cut VAT on fuel and that the EU prevented us from doing so. Two big fat lies as the EU doesn’t prevent EU countries from scrapping VAT on fuel and 2yrs later Johnson hasn’t ditched VAT on fuel.

in my home country/Poland (I live in the UK), the government temporarily lowered taxes/duties on petrol at forecourts (the main supplier is majority state owned company), hence 1 liter of petrol is roughly £1, whereas in the UK with the same cost to the supplier the price we pay is around £1.50. To many people's amusement, Germans who live in close proximity of the border with Poland, come to the later, saving around £30 per full tank. Also the Polish government introduced some extra help to families with regards to gas and electricity. Somehow, the UK/disgraced Boris Johnson can't be ar*ed :(

EU member Spain cut VAT on electricity in summer 2021, so the whole premise is, like the very premise of Boris Johnson as a person with authority, ridiculous.
What you can’t do is remove it completely. The reason he was getting stick is he cited a benefit of brexit would be being able to remove VAT from domestic fuel which they didn’t do.
All he has in Brexit, it doesn't matter what the question is.
And how the UK is world class in vaccines and how this wouldn't have happened within the EU even though the UK was still in the UK when it happened.

To be fair most leading politicians in history employ the same tactic. I’ve seen Blair do it. I’ve seen Hague do it. I’ve seen Cameron do it. Politics isn’t really about politics at all. It’s a popularity contest which each side trying to tear each other down with headline-grabbing rhetoric and score cheap points. I’ve seen election campaign after election campaign where the leaders of all parties will happily tell us what the other parties won’t do for us whilst cunningly avoid telling us what they themselves will do.
I don’t trust Johnson. But then I don’t trust Rayner, Starmer or any of the others either. Corbyn was also tied up with his own special brand of lying to try and smear the oppositions reputation as well. Politicians lie, evade and dodge as much as they can. Those that don’t never make it to the top. It’s the way it’s always been. We just have to try and figure out which one is the lesser evil every time we vote.
No matter who you vote for the Government always gets in.

5% VAT on fuel being mandatory for members of the EU is now no longer applicable to any member of the EU as this rule has been dropped due to the Energy crisis.

The current basket of goods that members can apply reduced rates to include "domestic fuel" note that doesn't include fuel for businesses which EU directives put at no lower than 15% and I would have thought buried in the level playing field rules we signed would mean a lot of these EU directives still have to be stuck to.
