Wild Beaver - must watch it all, sounds great - 3. c3 in sicilian is an antisicillian known as Kopeć Opening - after Danny Kopeć - US citizen, chess IM of polish origin - grabciomichał is also of polish origin :)
Jonathan, I admired your kind voice, your sense of self-irony and your unquestionable love for chess. I wish your channel had the following it deserved
@@12jswilson Hippo is good, Dragon is troll just block off the diagonal and the bishop is useless for the rest of the game Polish is REALLY really bad probably one of the worst openings in chess Orangutan idk, Bird's gambit there is a trap called From's Gambit if the bird player somehow avoids that it's still worst than the English.
I tried it and had the privilege of watching first hand the troubles of opponents developing his bishop. Hilarious. It's a bit like robbing a bank and as you walk in everyone is already blindfolded laying down on the floor. "Hmm... what's going on here? I guess I'll just help myself then?" While you stuff your bag with money you are accompanied by the sounds of: "Hrmpf!!! Grmbl!!! Grr!!!".
You need to get yourself a larger database. The position after 8...exd6 in the 6...Nc7 line has been seen in Zagema-Van der Vliet (1995), Ragger-Freitag (2005) and Budimir-Rukavina (2006). Budimir played 9.Bd3 and lost and the other 2 games ended in draws after 9.d5. You can also theoretically use a similar idea in 2...d6 Sicilian games via the move order 1. e4 c5; 2. Nf3 d6; 3. c3 Nf6; 4. e5 Nd5; 5. ed e6; 6. b4, which is a position that has specifically occurred in Fomin-Begunov (1994) and Schroer-Lev (2011), albeit both times via 2...Nf6. None of the lines look that great to me personally (from a white perspective) but it is certainly a way of getting black off the beaten track.
And so it begins...

Wow the world's leading beaver theoretician giving us quality beaver novelties.
Ah pursuit of the theoretical beaver... something us chess players know all too well.
One beaver it's already crazy...but a whole trilogy? Jonathan you are really spoiling us!
Thanks for reminding me of this amazing film en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Beaver_Trilogy
you mean a family not trilogy

Professor Schrantz, You're a Genius!! Thanks for this great video series! looking forward to watching the other two!

Schrantz says this is gonna be a three part series but I’m still waiting on part three of the French series...
Agree. We need part 3
My teacher said: All the chess openings with animal names are bad.
Now I know how wrong he was.
How many are there? Bird, Orangutan/Polish, Hippo is pretty good, Dragon is decent
Are dragons animals? Stay tuned to find out
@@Owen-bk5fc technically the Komodo dragon is an animal, but I'm not sure about dragons.

Great video, but too low volume.
Many with laptops have limited possibilities raising the volume if the video audio is set too low.

That's all fun and games. But what about the OMEGA GAMBIT 1.d4 nf6 2.e4!
Good video but with low-volume voice which I struggle to listen to
I love myself some new gambit :D
the otter-beaver gambit
Can u give coaching to me
Traps spring fourth from the delayed alapin!
The intro literally gave me chills, ngl :D
I just wish I could get into a beaver.
So are you like a king of gambits?
can we say "beavered"?
Wait until he discovers the Nakhmanson Gambit.
Is that a joke?
He was the one who introduced nakhmanson meta to youtube and then it went crazy viral
This post works as an Internet Explorer meme
New beaver woohoo
The sound levels on this video are annoying AF. If you turn it up loud enough to hear it, your head will get blown off when the ads pop up
Been a while since I been involved in a beaver trilogy. 🦫🦫🦫
