2023 Ride the Wave to Resiliency Community Symposium: Welcome and Key Note

On March 1, 2023, to celebrate the adoption of its Transportation Resiliency Master Plan, the SCTPO its Ride the Wave to Resiliency Community Symposium in the state of Florida, where transportation planners, resiliency advocates, engineers, technical consultants, citizens, municipal representatives, and environmental experts enjoyed hearing from local and regional experts who discussed resiliency efforts, emergency management responses, and creative solutions.
This video portion covers the welcome and our keynote speaker, FDOT District Five Secretary, John E. Tyler, P.E.
John E. Tyler, P.E., serves as the Secretary for FDOT Central Florida and the Chief Executive Officer for SunRail. Throughout his career with the District, he has served in several different leadership roles. John has played key roles in several transformational projects that have greatly enhanced Central Florida’s transportation network including SunRail Central Florida’s Commuter Rail, Wekiva Parkway, and the I-4 Ultimate project. He graduated from Florida State University with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
