I know she has a new song out, Million Miles, but I'm waiting until she performs it live or launches a video for it, before i listen to it. Can't wait...

she is 12 here are you kidding me. There has never been before and there will never be again anyone like Angelina Jordan!!!! Heaven broke the mold after she popped out.
Strange how, to me, her age in these performances has become irrelevant. She's simply the most broadly talented artist I've heard.

Angelina Jordan fans are mad that this teenage singer did not make the Top 5 on the season 2 final of “America’s Got Talent: The Champions.” We polled viewers of this “AGT” spin-off about the results that were revealed on February 17. Over one-third of the “AGT: The Champions” audience wanted Angelina, who won “Norway’s Got Talent” in 2014 when she wa only eight, to take this title too.
A mere 7% of “AGT: The Champions” viewers were pleased that the dance group V. Unbeatable won the show.
Backstory: This song is about her family being her shield and protecting her. In AGT, I feel it was unfair to her because everyone’s focus was on the sand art (as you’ll see if you watch the judges). The story is that they wanted her to sign a contract and if she didn’t, she wouldn’t win. She didn’t sign at age 13, and if you saw the intro before Bohemian, she said she really hoped to win. I hope you go back later and view these performances all the way through without having to stop and comment. I really appreciate your reviews, but I worry that you are missing the full effect by having to stop and start. BTW, the best thing that ever happened to her was them not signing her and her not signing with them. They would have stifled her artistic instinct and originality. Her uncle is doing a fine job of being her Manager, and I think all the musicians with which she works find out very quickly that she knows just what she wants and how she wants it performed. I love to watch when it’s just her and an acoustic guitar, watching his facial expressions is priceless.
thankyou for putting up this information. I have been trying to find information about whether she has family support, and if she is being worked 'too hard' and whether she has had time to be a child and have fun.. she is magnificent but has huge depth to her soul.
Anjelina's grandmother is Iranian so, we Iranians, love to say Anjelina is one of us !!!! :)))) Her grandma is an artist and Anjelina's attire and hairdo and all set up is her grandma's doing. Her beauty is clearly more Iranian than Norwegian, there's no doubt about that. She's a perfect mix, but I have to admit, I'm a VERY proud Norwegian whenever I watch and listen to her. I just found out that she's holding this year's exclusive Christmas concert a few kilometers away from where I live. I live in the countryside, so that's almost impossible to believe. I have picked my Christmas concert for this year, and I can barely wait! 💞🎄

Angelina met a girl while out walking one day. The little girl had no shoes so she gave the little girl her shoes. She told the little girl she would go without shoes when she performs and think of her and all the kids without shoes. She has kept her word. Bravo Angelina!
The Skavlan interview part is interesting. She explains why she isn’t nervous when performing. She said she wanted this song to have a Bond sound. She shares a brief.exquisite Impromptu, a cappella part of one of her favorite Bond songs.
After the interview portion she sings Shield.
The TV interview immediately before this song she talks about how she came up with the sound she wanted for it, it is very much worth listening to . All of AGT Champions was recorded in October of 2019 so she was 13. One of the things I thought was very interesting on the show was they had an opening act of Kiss promoting their upcoming tour but no mention was made that AJ was escorted to Kate Hudson's 2016 Celebrity Benefit Concert by Gene Simmons where she sang 2 songs.
I am a huge Angelina Jordan fan,, Sadly however, I was never able to focus on Angelina’s singing to fully appreciate it in this performance due to the fact that the sand artist was doing such a beautiful job. The. music became a backdrop to the art storyline whenever the camera was on the sand artist. I have to intentionally choose to focus on the few times that the camera is on Angelina to really take in what a stunning performance she gave! It makes me wonder if this could have adversely affected her winning the competition.
AGT, a show in search of new talent, should have paid Angelina to perform on their show. This performance surpasses most Vegas shows you’ll pay top dollar to see. She gave AGT a big status boost. Thankfully her Uncle/Manager would not get involved with a contract with AGT. Great reactions as always. See you all at the next one.

There are adult singers who can't master the skill of vocal fry, yet Angelina has the ability to go from that to head voice effortlessly. Someone was a fantastic vocal coach to teach these skills.

Some have said "Shield" is a tribute to her mother and her family ,however here is another perspective on this song: With due respect to everyone's opinion of what and who these words of Shield are written about. Some of these words could be about her Mother and family, however Angelina has never herself claimed as of yet that they are penned for her family.
I have watched every interview by her and so far she has never claimed they are written solely for her Mother and family. If some one has seen an interview where she makes this claim, that I have missed please give the reference , would love to see it. Most people commenting seem to know very little of the spiritual words she has used in this song and the implications of this video symbolism.
The words to this song are very deep for a young girl to have penned and yet she wrote every one of them , they are difficult to put them as tribute to her mother or family if you know anything of spiritual matters. These words line up perfectly with scripture. Some one has has probably posted their opinion that this was a tribute to her mother and others have adopted it as a fact. Either way it is an awesome song for a young girl to have written and arranged.
I have watched every one of her videos and interviews and never ever once heard her make that claim that these words were about her family and mother, if some one has a link to such a claim by her I will retract . I am pretty sure if she wrote a song about her mother as a tribute it would not have the spiritual meanings this one has .

All of her words line up with scripture in a very artistic and special way.."
Also this video version of this ( th-cam.com/video/m8OCbAlr_48/w-d-xo.html ) with her standing alone beside railroad track shows her with the outfit she made with her Grandmothers paintings on it and she begins to run down the tracks holding some flowers in her hand and she has shoes on, however in the next scene we see her coming out from inside a concrete culvert from the other side of the tracks, but this time she is barefoot wearing a white dress similiar to a white robe with a cord tied around it. : the significance of her white robe like dress is explained in the following verses found in the book of Revelations.

As she comes out she stops looks back at where she just came from for a few moments and then turns around and walks up to a cross beside the tracks which is adorned with small tattered flags of all the colors from her outfit in the first scene as well as the flowers now in the center of the cross. She now walks up right in front of the cross raises both arms and then embraces and kisses the cross. Next she is behind the cross seemingly struggling to hold on to it as the wind blows . Then a train come by fast and she jumps up and down waves excitedly to the train as it roars out of sight ( she could be saying in this gesture, hey I made it, you can too or" hey world don't pass so fast look at the cross and what was done for us"). She then kneels down to a small fire and begins messing with it and on the ground there is what looks like money all around the fire.( which could be symbol of the mistake in life of just seeking after money) There is so much spiritual symbolism in this video one could write a book on this video alone, with out even contemplating the words to the song.
Angelina wrote this song, with some help, giving thanks to her family and loved ones (fans/angels included) who Shield her from all potential dangers. "Surround me with angels, don't let them go" I believe refers to her fans. "Forgive me for all that I am" demonstrates her awareness that her fame has placed a huge burden on her loved ones. On AGT Angelina was 13 approaching 14 for this performance. Original was by Lewis Capaldi and Angelina gives a highly emotional performance, which tears me up each time I listen.
Don't think I have ever heard an Angelina song that I was not just blown away by and this one certainly did not disappoint.I truly do not believe she could ever disappoint with that voice of hers.
Speaking of Adele, wait until you listen to Angelina covering Adele. My apology to Adele but in my opinion Angelina now owns those songs now. They are that good. Million Years Ago and Someone Like You.

To me, in this performance, Angelina is more passionate than I have seen her before. She sang a couple of songs for her Grandpa after his death, and they were emotional. This is fire!
Shield performed on television at 12 years of age. This answers wresting about how much of the lyrics of her new song were written by her. Every writter needs a good editor but there is no doubt Angelina can write meaningful lyrics and from a very young age.😊❤
She was 12 when performing Shield, 13 for the AGT shows, and 14 now. The progression is astounding.
I think it’s logical to “compare” Angelina’s vocals to singers like Adele. Angelina definitely has listened to the great singers, and she has learned from them. Clearly, she brings in touches of Billie Holiday, Amy Winehouse, Adele, Ella Fitzgerald, and others. But there’s now no mistaking Angelina’s performances. She has a unique voice and style that stands out whether she’s singing an original composition or covering someone else’s.
One last thought: I don’t think it’s possible to compare great singers to decide who’s best. I think Dimash is technically the best soloist I’ve heard. I think Amy Winehouse is nearly unique. Ella Fitzgerald, Patsy Cline, and Pentatonix are all absolutely great. But I have never wanted to listen to someone everyday as I have with Angelina for about four years now. And I do listen to her sing everyday. If that’s the criterion for the “best” singer I’ve ever heard, then it’s Angelina-by a mile. Her voice, her sincerity, her depth, her musicality. Just mesmerizing.
If she’s building her voice with those Icons then she will be even more amazing. I cant wait to hear her explore her instrument.

Angie has covered Adele more than any other artist. So clearly she’s a big influence. Adele’s influences were Amy, Billie, Ella and many others. Amy’s influences were these same classic jazz artists. So you find the obvious connection between all these talented singers.

If I remember correctly, during an interview with Angelina's mother during/just after Norway's Got Talent a line was spoken concerning how humble and "normal child-like" Angelina was. It was then suggested that her mother was Angelina's "shield" and her mother answered that yes, she intended to shield Angelina until she was ready for all that was to come. So, since her newest self-created song, Million Years, was written for her grandfather, it would make sense that Shield was written for her mother.

Shield is such a cool song from someone so young.... I'm told it was written to her mother, describing how she protects her from all the bad in the world as she grows up. I love it! Someone You Loved is a great performance as well, and the unique quality of her voice and her interpretation of the music she sings sets her apart from all the other singers today.... Truly wonderful!
I hope Republic Records includes a studio version of "Shield" on Angelina's first album. The hooks in it are phenomenal - "Forgive me for all that I am." and "You are my fire." With those and the music itself, it has all the makings of a #1 hit. Many people say it could be the opening song for a James Bond movie. BTW, in addition to using the arrow keys to move the video back and forward, you can use the space bar to pause and resume it. Just a tip!
The comparison to Adele is spot on with this song. However, what I LOVE about both is that they spotlight their voices. No juke and jive with the all of the dancing and playing to the audience. Her voice is so amazing that all you want to do is just sit and soak it in.

You picked a great pair of videos for this double feature! Shield is one of those songs that feels familiar the very first time you hear it. I think it didn't get as much attention as it could have, but I believe in the future (when her career is in full swing) people will look back recognize just how great it is. Someone you Loved... not much to say except... I don't think it could possibly be sung better than she did it there on that stage that night (at 13).
BTW: Angelina did release a live video yesterday of Million Miles, but it was only up for a few hours and then went private. Nobody really knows the story of why, but the video is still available on iTunes. Everyone that wants to help support Angelina (and can afford the couple bucks) should go and purchase it! ...and we will let you know if it becomes available on youtube again so you and do a reaction. :)

Thank you for the new double wonderful reaction, Lukas, Shield is an exceptional song, for the music, for the lyrics, for how well balanced it's and to finish because it is made by a 12 year old girl, the subject of the texts is certainly not what every twelve year old thinks, but she naturally understand instead that she is still very young, even if unique, and therefore she needs a shield, between her and the world. Someone to protect her, from what has happened to so many great artists, even among those she admires, like Avicii, Amy, Whitney. This is why I believe that the lyrics refer to her family, they are the ones who defend her 🤗 ❤️

The second song is the performance was made, after the AGT final, when everything had already been decided, is Angelina's fantastic reinterpretation of a moving and painful song by Scottish singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi, but is also (even by AGT standards, which are very self-promotional) a wonderful interpretation in which 3 artists, very different from each other, however integrate wonderfully, with a beautiful choral performance. Angelina's voice reading is, once again, surprising, certainly much emotional and powerful than Lewis's version, as usual ... it's normal. ❤️ 💛 😉 What she manages to insert harmoniously and sweetly, even in this interpretation, is incredibly unique!
And this is to me the most profound part of that interview:

Have you already heard her new album "It`s magic" You must hear it, it is abolutely amazing to hear her more mature voice.
It’s Magic is not a new album. It was done when she was 12 I own the album and it is dated November 2017. It took me several tries, but I finally got a copy a couple of months ago. It was never formally released in the USA as far as I know.

Angelina Jordan's Million Miles (live video) appeared on her Vevo (th-cam.com/users/AngelinaJordanVEVOvideos) about 36 hrs ago, was up for less than 24 hrs. I believe three reactors caught it and did reactions before it was pulled. Great video well worth looking into, maybe some caught it and will post it with out reaction.

To your note, you want to spare your "first hearing" of her lates song "Million miles" untill there is a video where you can see her singing (btw. since Dec. 16th there is one ;-) ), I would consider, that the first is not only with the lyrics but it's an masterpice of art drawn by her granma and herself and animated to the song in an really artistic way.
I think it was Angelinas full intention to release this masterpice of lyric&art video 6 weeks ahead of the official studio recording video. And after I have seen both I am glad that I have seen the lyric&art version at first. The studio version is also a wonderfull video but the intention, the meaning of the song ist transported better with the lyric&art version I feel.

The earliest video of hers that could find, I believe before the Norway's got talent but not sure, was her singing some Amy Winehouse's music. She was close to being a dead ringer for Amy even at that early age. Sometimes you can only descibe something by comparison, not a bad thing, especially something as unique and awsom as this persons voice.
One thing you need to know about Angelina is the influence of her best grandmother Mery Zamani on her music and style! Mery is a world famous poet and artist who gained fame early in life! Angelina is very close to her grandmother they explore music and art together and Mery produces and directs some of her videos! You will often see Mery's art on the walls behind Angelina or her inspiration on set and clothes design! Mery, Mom Sara's mom, is Iranian and her husband was Japanese! Angelina's song Million Miles is about losing him! She also does other songs in tribute, Shield is one of those!

Glad you're back to Angelina! There WAS, for 14 or so hours on TH-cam (I sent you the link the night it appeared), a fantastic B&W LIVE STUDIO official video of "Million Miles" but it was taken down. IT HAS BEEN RE-POSTED HERE th-cam.com/video/3KxvwuZ7oEM/w-d-xo.html. It was so great to see Angelina sing live again as it been almost 1 year. "Shield" was written to honor her mother Sara for her love and protection and ask forgiveness for the chaos her sudden fame and her desire to be a superstar has cause to the family.The lyric "forgive me for all that I am" tells that story.

I watched that TH-cam video of the live performance before it was removed...it was great! Then I purchased that performance on iTunes for my iPad music library. It is slightly less refined in terms of background instrumentation than the lyric video, and “I wonder if” the live performance was the video that was played for Republic records before she signed. No matter, both are equally inspiring and wonderful!

A live studio version of "Million Miles" dropped yesterday in Vevo but was taken down a few hours later. The quality, both audio and video, were outstanding, typical of Vevo. It's available on iTunes, but I'd imagine it will get uploaded again soon. The lyric video is much more than just the lyrics, paintings made by her grandmother, Iranian artist Mery Zamani, have been animated in an engaging manner. Still, for your reaction, it would be best to wait for the live version.
