I am definitely trying this recipe for Thanksgiving this year thank you so much and how you made. The caramel frosting is amazing. Can’t wait to try. Thank you.
You are very welcome. Make sure not to let the water get low. Always keep the water way above the can send me a picture of your finished product. Thanks for watching
Here is the Caramel Topping/Base Recipe: 1 1/2 C Sugar 1/4 C Water 2 Tbsp Corn Syrup 1/2 Stick Butter 1 C Heavy Whipping Cream 2 Tsp Vanilla Extract. Pinch of Salt *Try 1 tsp Rum Flavor & 1 tsp Vanilla if you like caramel rum combined.* Instructions: GENTLY Stir the sugar, water & Corn Syrup to blend. Heat on medium flame until medium brown or slightly darker in color-Do not stir, swirl in pot REMOVE FROM HEAT & then add room temp butter and stir with wooden spoon or wisk. Warm your heavy cream before adding to hot caramel. ADD 1/2 OF CREAM and wisk/stir until blended, Then add remaining 1/2-Caramel will bubble up with the addition of the butter and Cream. So be careful. Stir well and allow to cool to room temp and use to glaze cakes, donuts and more. This makes 16 Oz Caramel Glaze. For Frosting I would use a basic butter cream recipe and cool caramel completely before adding to frosting. *Leave out the butter and it can be used for coffee or hot chocolate* *I would also leave out the butter if using for ice cream* *Corn Syrup is optional but it will prevent sugar from crystalizing*
You are a God send. The cake looks amazing and I'm sure it melted in your mouth. I'm not baker, but I'm adding this to my holiday dessert list for 2023.
Let me know how it turns out. Make sure to keep an eye on the caramel to make sure your water is always over the can because it will explode that will be a mess. Do it the day before you make your cake so it will be at room temperature.
@mrs.charile5284 I appreciate your comment. Something I can recommend is to play it at 1.25 or 1.5 speed. It can be hard to get the details of the recipe in a short video.
Hello. My name is Kim and I'm a new follower from Illinois. I just ran across your channel and Caramel Cake happens to be my fav. I'm just wondering if this texture is like pound cake with all the eggs?
You’ve done a great job, but what I usually do is boil my cans as well but I put them in a crockpot on low for eight hours and then I mix each can with one stick of butter and also a bag of powdered sugar, I also put in vanilla flavor and caramel flavor and it’s delicious Sometimes you may want to cut back on the powdered sugar, after using what you need for the cake or cupcakes. The rest can be frozen then when it’s time to use again, put it in the microwave until it melts to the consistency that you like.❤
The cans remain closed, but opened immediately after the eight hours being careful not to burn yourself while opening the cans some will squirt out when you first open each can. Immediately mix with the butter then add the powdered sugar and vanilla and caramel flavors, let cool, and then put your icing on each cake layer, and then the entire cake and enjoy
Sorry about the delay in answering your question. This stuff is amazing in cupcakes and as a cake filling. You can use it in tres leches cake instead of the sweetened condensed milk, and you can use it in cookies and sandwiches. It also tastes great in coffee and on ice cream. I never use it to make caramel. If you do, let me know how it turns out. Thanks for watching.
They're basically the same except store bought dulce de Leche has several extra ingredients. The method she uses to make dulce de Leche will produce a better flavor in my opinion. I don't use either because I make my own caramel glaze/topping/ base. 😊
@@faithspeaks3043you can always gently fold it back in the cake batter right before separating into pans to bake. It makes the softest cake ever. I do that with my red velvets.
Yes after it's done. when you put it in a big pot of boiling water, let it boil for three hours, but make sure you keep a kettle of hot water on the stove to refill the water when it get low so that the water leaves will not get below the can level, if so the can will burst open. you don't won't that. Hope that helps

I loved the way you made your caramel. I will definitely try that. ❤️
Just make sure your water is well over the can, it will explode if water reaches below the can. Keep check on it while it is boiling.
You are a God send. The cake looks amazing and I'm sure it melted in your mouth. I'm not baker, but I'm adding this to my holiday dessert list for 2023.

Hello. My name is Kim and I'm a new follower from Illinois. I just ran across your channel and Caramel Cake happens to be my fav. I'm just wondering if this texture is like pound cake with all the eggs?
Hello Kim. no it a little more moist. I had a misprint use 1/2 cup of oil and 2 tablespoons of baking powder. Thanks for watching.

Do the can remain closed, or do we cut the tops off???
Closed, thanks for watching
That sounds good. I will try it. Thanks for watching.

You can buy it in a can it's called Dulce de Leche. Or, make it yourself, it takes much less time either way.
Hi
Thank you for the recipe. Instead of doing condensed milk, can I use dulce de leche? What is the difference?
Thanks!

How much baking powder
Two tablespoons of baking powder. Thanks for watching.
Do put six eggs after the egg yolk or before
I am sorry i misspoke , egg yolks first, then six eggs. Thanks for watching
Cake looks BEAUTIFUL. I love the finished product ❤😂🎉. You didn't say what temperature to keep the water on for the 3hrs??😂❤
Turn your stove knob about middle ways, depending on your stove. Just make sure it has a good steady boil.
What did you do with egg white
To keep from throwing them away my husband ate the egg whites for breakfast.
@cookingwithlovewithmary829 hello so do you need the egg whites?
@@faithspeaks3043you can always gently fold it back in the cake batter right before separating into pans to bake. It makes the softest cake ever. I do that with my red velvets.
@denisela3403 thank you so much!
What do u mean 2 yolks luv Roz
Was this said on vedio or transcripts? I went over the transcripts.
The egg yolks are the yellow part of the eggs, not the white.

Does that condensed milk taste like caramel?
Yes after it's done. when you put it in a big pot of boiling water, let it boil for three hours, but make sure you keep a kettle of hot water on the stove to refill the water when it get low so that the water leaves will not get below the can level, if so the can will burst open. you don't won't that. Yes the can will explode I experienced that . Now I just make it from scratch 😂
😭
What about baking powder?
You left out the baking powder in your recipe! Please fix this.
Two tablespoons of baking powder. Sorry about that, and thanks for the correction.
Why don’t you put backing powder in your cakes 😢?
One 1/2 cup of oil and 2 tablespoons of baking powder at was a misprint. Sorry
I made this cake. It didn’t rise. I followed every instruction. What happened?
I am sorry that happened. Your butter should be at room temperature, but not too soft. I left my butter out once overnight, and my cake didn't rise.
I just uploaded a video last week for a chocolate cake. You could use that cake recipe and still use the caramel frosting.
Tempera'ture
Yes the cans will explode if you don't watch the water level. I had that happen years ago and my ceiling and walls were a mess 😂😂
😭
I learned my lesson
You say 1/2 cup of oil but have 1/3 written in the recipe??????
Sorry, misprint, it's 1/ 2 cup thanks 😊
You didn’t say how much baking powder.
Two tablespoon baking powder thanks for watching
Thank you,love you show 😘
