What I loved the most about this series are the huge battles in the air/space and the ground. The battlefield shows how big of a war the Clone Wars really was. Also that it's showing a war because you know war is in the title of the franchise. That sometimes bugs me about the sequels how they really don't show much of a war going on.
Turtato I feel the same way...also the sequels kill off a BUNCH of characters or push them out of the picture...it just feels like the new characters are pushed onto us.
This series is the best Star Wars media we have received IMO. I love the movies too but this series really got me invested in this ip. I cried like a baby when Rex and Ahsoka reunited in Rebels.
For myself personally, the clones are my favorite characters in Star Wars besides Ahsoka. The clones and what they stand for inspire so many emotions in me. Their sense of brotherhood, their sense of loyalty, their ability to improvise and adapt to the situations presented to them. No matter how horrible the odds, the clones fight to the very last breath to achieve victory. The clones in TCW show such strong will, such a strong sense of duty. They show that they're willing to sacrifice their lives to achieve their goal. And yet, even though all these things are true, they're also so very humanized in TCW. They question their place in the galaxy, the point of the war, what will happen to them after the war...they have real struggles and real worries, even though they're loyal soldiers, they're not a bunch of unthinking droids, just as Fives said. The Umbara arc shows all of these qualities and quirks in their personalities, which makes Umbara probably my favorite story arc in Star Wars. I love the clones so much because they're just so much deeper than you would expect. There's so many amazing characters that make you really connect to each and every one of them. Rex, Cody, Fives, Echo, Hevy, 99, Wolffe, Bly, Gregor...I could go on and on. Thank you for making this video man. Summed up all my thoughts about the clones. I could go on forever about these guys. 😅

Dee Bradley Baker is an amazing actor. If you hear Captain Rex’s voice you can’t tell it apart from Commander Cody’s, yet they still sound like clones of each other.
Only when the story plot demands it. Sadly. Otherwise they can be just as bad as Stormtroopers it OT (Seriously count how many times in battles we see blue bolts fly OVER droids/combatants?)
There is also suspense in this show with the clones because most of them don't show up in ROTS so you have no idea if one of our stars with be snuffed out the next episode. R.I.P. Fives and Waxer.
It's really amazing how Jango Fett, the entire concept of the close army, the Mandalorian culture which is a huge part of "The Clone Wars", "Rebels" and specially "The Mandalorian" They all exist primarily because this one bounty hunter from the OT looked really cool.

For me, Order 66 has a lot more emotional weight after watching all of the clone wars because you can't help but to picture the characters you grew to love over the course of 120 episodes, betraying each other. And you just can't help but to remember Fives. RIP Fives. He will be remembered.
Dee Bradley Baker deserves all the credit he receives for bringing the Clone Army to life; voicing dozens of different unique characters; sometimes 6 or more in the same episode, purely by the subtleties in each character's tone all based around a single common "generic" voice template to build from is an incredible feat.
Interesting fact: Rex’s armor was unique because the phase 1 armor was for safety strictly. Phase 2 armor was more for mobility and comfort and also for a little protection. Rex combine the armors so his was the best combination of comfort and more importantly, protection.
Imo all your gripes and grimes about the prequels not being fleshed out enough can simply be attributed to the fact that movies are not a great way to expand on a universe with such rich lore. You can only put so much into a 2 and a half to 3-hour film. So, of course, a show with 20+ 30 mins episodes will be able to deep dive to great depths in both characters and the universe they inhabit. This is typically the problem you face when any type of literature transitions to the big screen as well. Overall I enjoyed your retrospectives
That's completely fair. I think some are thinking I'm being hard on Lucas despite me giving him credit for realizing this and taking enough steps to correct this.

It would be ignorant for anyone to dismiss the problems with the prequel trilogy. The scripts and plot choices could be better but the settings work imo. End of the day the prequel trilogy is what got me into Star Wars and I enjoy them for what they brought to the overall universe... The Clone Wars!
I've never understood why big media companies copyright strike videos that use a few seconds of footage. It's free advertising for their content. At this point all it does is piss off fans of their existing fans.

In terms of lacking connections to soldiers, I think the same can be said for every footsoldier in Star Wars history. Clone Wars is the only time I can recall where the majority of armies felt real.

You should watch it. It's better than the first two, but definitely not better than 3, 4 and 5. It has probably my least favorite arc but it also has some reaally good stuff in it.

Lotta people hate the first two seasons of TCW. I personally love both and believe they're sorely underrated. Some of the best moments in all of Star Wars begins in those first two seasons. :)
I both love and hate Rookies. Because it's a season one episode and "Clone Cadets" (the episode that introduces Domino Squad) is a season three episode, two members of Domino Squad are disposed of without much fanfare (those two being Droidbait, who is one of the background clones killed by the commando droids (and gets precisely zero reaction from it) and Cutup, who got eaten by the Rishi Eel.) If their introductory episode had come before Rookies, perhaps we could have seen their story be drawn out further, with more members of Domino surviving further into the war, but instead that potential was lost, which makes me kind of sad.
The fact that the Republic used men who were manufactured to be soldiers, who had no choice in choosing their fate, who were essentially slaves, kind of proved that the Republic did not deserve to be saved. And the Jedi were no better, they took children, severing all ties to their families and destroyed their childhoods to train them to be Jedi. Ahsoka was right when she walked away.
Your editing was clear and fit the narration. These videos are fun even as someone who has not seen the clone wars. I am very satisfied with this video. Take a breath and try to take pride in doing a great job dude.
At 9:52, I hope that you don’t actually think that way about the avengers because I feel the exact opposite when it comes to their years worth of good story and compelling character development (most of which also goes to Star Wars). Also, I’m surprise that you never brought up the inhibitor chip arc because that too is another great example of the beauty of the show by really clarifying why the clones would blindly obey order 66 (makes rewatching it in episode III all the more heartbreaking).

In terms of lacking connections to soldiers, I think the same can be said for every footsoldier in Star Wars history. Clone Wars is the only time I can recall where the majority of armies felt real.
Clones are the most important character in this show. All my favorite episodes revolved around clone arcs.

Everyone with even a passing interest in Star Wars, or the intrigue surrounding the new Mandalorian series should take this opportunity in between seasons to watch the Clone Wars and Rebels series', if for no other reason than to catch up on some backstory and lore that is certain to show up in future content. Like the Mandalorian's next seasons, etc.

You should watch it. It's better than the first two, but definitely not better than 3, 4 and 5. It has probably my least favorite arc but it also has some reaally good stuff in it.

I love the clones having personalities I always sympathized with them they were so well played. Rex is one of the most amazing characters in Star Wars and I can’t imagine Star Wars without any of them. I could praise TCW forever. It’s still the best

I both love and hate Rookies.
Because it's a season one episode and "Clone Cadets" (the episode that introduces Domino Squad) is a season three episode, two members of Domino Squad are disposed of without much fanfare (those two being Droidbait, who is one of the background clones killed by the commando droids (and gets precisely zero reaction from it) and Cutup, who got eaten by the Rishi Eel.)
If their introductory episode had come before Rookies, perhaps we could have seen their story be drawn out further, with more members of Domino surviving further into the war, but instead that potential was lost, which makes me kind of sad.

The fact that the Republic used men who were manufactured to be soldiers, who had no choice in choosing their fate, who were essentially slaves, kind of proved that the Republic did not deserve to be saved. And the Jedi were no better, they took children, severing all ties to their families and destroyed their childhoods to train them to be Jedi. Ahsoka was right when she walked away.

At 9:52, I hope that you don’t actually think that way about the avengers because I feel the exact opposite when it comes to their years worth of good story and compelling character development (most of which also goes to Star Wars). Also, I’m surprise that you never brought up the inhibitor chip arc because that too is another great example of the beauty of the show by really clarifying why the clones would blindly obey order 66 (makes rewatching it in episode III all the more heartbreaking).
Clone wars is what made me a star wars fan.
