The exchange between Anakin and Ahsoka when she left the Jedi Order when he tried to return her lightsabers and when she revealed she knew why he was tempted to leave as well is all the more tragic as it revealed how close the two of them had become that he couldn't hide even that from her.
There's this look in his eyes that shows he's only just realised the true extent what he had while he's literally watching it walk away from him, powerless to do anything. To this day it's the only thing in film and tv to have made me cry.
This also shows that Anakin was actually a very good master for Ahsoka. He allowed her to see different points of view and to be a free thinker. Something that most masters fail to do it seems. Sure Anakin still had to drill Jedi traditions into her, but that didn't stop Ahsoka from questioning it or bending the rules like her master does. Ahsoka watching whilst Anakin dealt with his past as a slave in the Season 4 Slave arc was a great scene as well. We got to see Anakin showing has anger in front of Ahsoka and Obi-Wan rather than hiding it. It's a hint that maybe, Anakin's problems should have been noticed earlier.
The fundamental problem is that Anakin was an angry man, because he was a human being who lived a harsh life. There's nothing wrong with expressing how you feel and trying to heal bad memories. Anakin asks Yoda "I'm seeing the future and it makes me sad." Yoda's response is "Just don't be sad, bro Lmao". If the Jedi actually TALKED with Anakin to help him get over his trauma instead of telling him to ignore it, he wouldn't have grown into such an angry, cruel man who had almost no choice except to be a Sith.

"All aboard the bus down memory lane! See that character you liked? He's dead now." Still, it was a brave show, unafraid of its audience, and willing to take chances. While that mentality can backfire, it's sometimes better to fail doing that than fail while being cowardly. You still need to be good at it, but it worked for them.
@Joshua Beauchamp Indeed. Every film has had at least one serious problem, even _A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back_ and _Return of the Jedi._ Even TCW has fundamental flaws, the most damaging of which was Ahsoka Tano, what with with her general annoyance and the role she played in reversing everything The Clone Wars should have done to Anakin. But for the most part, TCW played its cards well, especially with the clones.
The Darth Maul arc literally could've been used to create an entire new trilogy. The Clone Wars might be some of the best Star Wars we'll ever see in our lifetimes.
6:52 You didn't even mention the fact that Yoda is talking the Thire, the clone that would lead the manhunt against Yoda. It presents this wholesome moment with the knowledge that later Yoda would be hunted for by that same person.

I have to say this show was a hell of a thrill ride I loved it when it got dark and god I loved Yoda in the scene with the Clones it just put a smile on my face seeming him talk to them that way and how much it meant to them as well but still that fight between the clone on Umbara gave me chills and still does that whole thing just felt so messed up and made me happy when Krell was taken down
The writers seemingly had much more creative freedom while making the Clone Wars series because the Lucasfilm, "Story Group," of that time consisted of Dave Filoni, Katie Lucas, (amongst others,) but with George Lucas himself sitting at the head of the table. Every decision made either came directly from, or had to be run by, George Lucas. You can call that, "creative freedom," or, you can admit that George Lucas truly IS a genius who knows the subject matter better than anyone living, and during the Production had far more time to fully flesh out his ideas. (As opposed to the limited time allowed within the constraints of a feature length film.) Sure, he's had a couple, "missteps." Especially the first two of three Prequel movies. But, there are fans who were introduced to Star Wars with the Phantom Menace who would NEVER consider the prequel trilogy to be, "missteps," at all. And, every age group has their favorite Star Wars era. With very few people enjoying all of the content from every time period equally. But, watch some Clone Wars, "behind the scenes," or, "making of," and you'll see there was a table of writers, but ALWAYS with George at the head and Dave Filoni by his side.
TWSTF 8 uhh yeah I actually love the prequels, and I watched the originals first which I love too; but I like Anakin’s arch as a Jedi, and the clone wars is awesome!

The Umbara scene was one of the few of the clone wars, or any show for that matter, that made me shed some tears. Like you said, the fog, the animation, and the desperation in Rex’s voice really sold it, and so did the music. Such an intense and shocking scene that made that entire arc. I don’t think I can name any other show that got the same kind of reactions out of me that the clone wars did.
That scene with Palpatine is one of the best scenes in the show. He seems to have that quiet rage in him about losing the "battle". Even though he ultimately won doesn't mean he didn't suffer any setbacks even minor ones.
The saddest scenes are the deaths of Waxer, Fives, 99, Satine, Hevy's sacrifice along the burial of Jesse and the others after the crash. Fenominal show if one can say so. "The mission, the nightmares, they are finally........over." F for all of them. Also realising that Waxer had drawn Numa on his helmet, made his death all the more emotional.
There are many deep scenes in the Clone Wars. My few picks in no particular order: 1. Ahsoka looking at Anakin painfully when she refused to rejoin the Jedi Council after they expelled her. 2. Rex trembling to kill Ahsoka when he received the Order 66 and he managed to give clue (Fives) to Ahsoka despite being influenced by his inhibitor chip. 3. Asajj Ventress renouncing the Dark Side and helping Pluma Sodi and Krismo. And in the last season, helping Ahsoka when she was wrongly accused of the bombings. 4. Satine being killed before Obi Wan. The way they made eye contact when she was dying! 5. The younglings learning to master their weaknesses in The Gathering episode! 6. Fives learning about Palpatine and then being killed by one of his own brothers. 7. Anakin learning about his future and then forgetting it. 8. Yoda foreseeing the Jedi purge and winning his test to attain the Force ghost abilities. There are many, many more!
"Your faces I wish to see." That scene always gets me. That's one of my absolute favorite scenes in the entire show. And "friendly fire" still makes me tear up to this day it's worse because it has happened before in real life wars.
You mean Duchess Satine. Yeah, that part was tragic, and Obi Wan still never let the Dark Side consume him, no matter how much he wanted to kill Maul for slaughtering the love of his life. Romeo and Juliet got nothing on that. :(
Seriously, props to Dee Bradley Baker for being the voice actor of every single Clone, plus some other characters in this show. It's gotta be a record or something.
I remember seeing ambush. I was 8 years old. I knew then that This show was going to be great. How great, I did not know. But damn I loved growing up with the show
the clone wars had serious depth to its writing. One of the best cartoon series i have ever seen. Ashoka leaving was so moving also and it foreshadowed Anakin's betrayal of the jedi.
I love these types of videos that praise the clone wars Eritrea’s and story. Honestly this show is simply magnificent in soundtrack character development and just overall it shows us the clone wars Ben kenobi talked about in episode 4. I can’t wAit for the new season
The clones fighting each other without realizing was the most memorable part of the show for me. Even years after I stopped watching I still think about that scene
"The death of Waxer makes it the most emotional scene because of friendly fire" Fives, who got shot in the chest for exposing order 66 and Palpatine as a sith along with Thorn(e) and the jedi Ima Gun Di: he has no respect for us!
Fun fact: In the series there’s only 2 times where’s the clones actually cried, one is waxer on his death and the other is rex during order 66, both related with clones killing clones
Even if they didn’t have the armor and different haircuts, I would still be able to tell most clones apart based on their personality alone. They did an amazing job.
It lacks some subtlety, but the scene at the end of S2E13 where Tal Merrik taunts Obi-Wan and Satine always struck me as supremely effective. Obi-Wan and Satine hold Merrik at gunpoint, and he taunts them, saying the only way they could stop him from escaping would be to kill him - not in self-defence or the heat of battle, but an execution in cold blood. "Who will strike first and brand themselves a cold-blooded killer?" he asks. A moment later, he's answered: Anakin. It's a great illustration not only of why Anakin will eventually fall, but also why the Jedi shouldn't be fighting a war in the first place.
One of the best cartoons ever!!.....and that is an understatement. It made you care about many of the characters! I like how they gave some limelight to many of the characters and not just focus on one or two of the main ones. It didn't take away from the main ones at all and in fact it made the stories much more richer and interesting. It actually strengthened each character! Not to mention it did give out some very good and true life lessons without being preachy, which is a testament to good writing and actual life lessons that sticks to you and hits you in heart! This show never felt forced or tried to convince you to think one way or another, but presented you with an honest and open debate on things that affect us deeply in our souls as humans....things we think about but rarely talk about.
One of the best scenes they did with the show was humanizing the clones. In the movies you barely hear them speak and they dont really stand out or show humanity.
This show was/is amazing in creating the most jarring and realistic situations anyone could think of and be in the thick of. Waxer and the other clones dying for the amusement of a sadistic dark Jedi really hits you hard and makes you feel for the clones more than in the movies.

Me to bro, me to
Anyone know when it'll be out? They sure are taking long for a season that was already pretty much made
@@CarlosFlores-ng1fi I heard February

9:53 that isn't no ordinary clone that is waxer or boil, someone we knew from all the way back from the siege of ryloth. That really hit home because I loved those 2 so much as a child and it broke me seeing clones fighting clones
That is Waxer.
They were also in Landing On Point Rain a Season 2 episode.
God. I had to pause that episode, and walk away.
Waxer. Just...
Just why. Fuck
It was waxer and he has numa on his helmet too.
The PLO Koon “not to me” scene is still one of the single greatest things ever.
“Waxer’s death was the saddest scene of the show”
Ahsoka leaving the Jedi: Am I Joke to you?
Yes
This is outrageous, we all know that Fives’ death was hands down the saddest scene on the show.
99 much? Or any clone tbh
Yes it's a joke because of season 4 2020 and no fives, ct 99, skips, and heavy all deaths were just as sad as wade's death
Irvin A. Take a seat, young Irvin!
The "our plan" scene actually did a better job teaching me not to be greedy than any other cartoon
@Ethan Baker , I wasn't quoting anyone. I just took a bit from the description and took it to a logical and amusing conclusion.
@Joshua Beauchamp
Indeed. Every film has had at least one serious problem, even _A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back_ and _Return of the Jedi._
Even TCW has fundamental flaws, the most damaging of which was Ahsoka Tano, what with with her general annoyance and the role she played in reversing everything The Clone Wars should have done to Anakin. But for the most part, TCW played its cards well, especially with the clones.
And then there's Waxer!
He's dead.
Fives’ and Ahsoka leaving arc were the greatest ones. That shit was movie quality
The Darth Maul arc literally could've been used to create an entire new trilogy. The Clone Wars might be some of the best Star Wars we'll ever see in our lifetimes.
This show was more than just a children’s show. It grew as its audience did. Friday nights at 8pm😢
6:52 You didn't even mention the fact that Yoda is talking the Thire, the clone that would lead the manhunt against Yoda. It presents this wholesome moment with the knowledge that later Yoda would be hunted for by that same person.
This is my list
1. Waxer’s Death
2. Ashoka Leaving the Jedi Order
3. Five’s Death
4. Thorn’s Death
5. 99’s Death
pftmason I mean waxer’s death was sad definitely, but ahsoka leaving dude... dude... like that was soo sad!!
Elite Clone kid But I would still put waters death over Ashoka leaving
@@kellysue06 but satine dying that was even worse
I know this is your opinion but I find Thorn's death more badass and honorable then sad.
Kacper Gajda eh
Heavy doesn’t even get mentioned for sacrificing himself for his brothers
Gosh I love Heavy. I couldn't watch this show as it aired, but when they release it on disk, my Dad rented it, and showed that episode to my brother and I. First episode I ever saw. He's like a childhood hero now.

Umbara is one of if not the best arc of the show with this scene being a masterpiece. Plus you can see the shots still going through the air
The death of the dutchess, and the death of Fives were the 2 that hit the hardest for me
Young Stew for me it was Ahsoka leaving, and then fives.
Hevy
RIP Ponds, gone too soon.
"Deep scenes"
Fives, Satine, and Ashoka will remember that
To be honest, I am a confederate supporter, but that friendly fire scene really hit you in the feels. RIP Waxer.
I‘m 28 and was probably a little too old for clone wars when it came out, but I just finished watching it the first time and I was blown away and these moments really stood out to me, too
Yoda: "Always two there are. No more. No less."
Count Dooku, General Grievious, Assaj Ventress, and Savage Oppress: "I have a bad feeling about this"
The Senate, rolling up to Mandalore with two Lightsabers: "You should."
I have to say this show was a hell of a thrill ride I loved it when it got dark and god I loved Yoda in the scene with the Clones it just put a smile on my face seeming him talk to them that way and how much it meant to them as well but still that fight between the clone on Umbara gave me chills and still does that whole thing just felt so messed up and made me happy when Krell was taken down
To top our list we have "Frinedly Fire"
The writers seemingly had much more creative freedom while making the Clone Wars series because the Lucasfilm, "Story Group," of that time consisted of Dave Filoni, Katie Lucas, (amongst others,) but with George Lucas himself sitting at the head of the table.
Every decision made either came directly from, or had to be run by, George Lucas.
You can call that, "creative freedom," or, you can admit that George Lucas truly IS a genius who knows the subject matter better than anyone living, and during the Production had far more time to fully flesh out his ideas. (As opposed to the limited time allowed within the constraints of a feature length film.)
Sure, he's had a couple, "missteps." Especially the first two of three Prequel movies.
I fondly remember playing the pod racing arcade game with my cousin. Even if I always crashed 🤣🤣🤣
Driving/flying in video games is a skill I do not possess.
Back when Star Wars showed the true cruelty of war
now everything is jokes, smiles and no sense like in the Sequels Disney turned Star Wars into a joke
I mean, if you wanna ignore Rogue One, go ahead.
So we gone act like the first order didnt blow up 5 planets at once, okay. We gone act like Kylo Ren didnt have a whole village executed and burnt down
@@queztgod We ignore that that only happened in one film and the rest is silly jokes and dumb crying cuz he is literally a copy of anakin in episode 2 o3o
@@CABRALFAN27 technically thats a prequel but i understand what u mean
@@cykondacot5409 He was much better than episode 2 and 3 Anakin. Clone Wars Anakin is the GOAT tho
The Umbara scenes' music really pushes it to the next level, no doubt in my top 3 favorite arcs.
Geetsly's: Waxer's Death is the saddest scene in the show
Fives: Am I a joke to you
The Umbara scene was one of the few of the clone wars, or any show for that matter, that made me shed some tears.
That scene gives me a lot of Thrawn vibes.
Je can play a long game though thrawn is much better at the xanatos gambit
The saddest scenes are the deaths of Waxer, Fives, 99, Satine, Hevy's sacrifice along the burial of Jesse and the others after the crash. Fenominal show if one can say so.
"The mission, the nightmares, they are finally........over."
F for all of them.
Also realising that Waxer had drawn Numa on his helmet, made his death all the more emotional.
The build up of Fives character and then his death is the best part of the series.
There are many deep scenes in the Clone Wars. My few picks in no particular order:
5:00 the only time we openly saw Sidious uncloaked and plotting his ascension to power
"Your faces I wish to see." That scene always gets me. That's one of my absolute favorite scenes in the entire show. And "friendly fire" still makes me tear up to this day it's worse because it has happened before in real life wars.
The scene where Maul kills The Mandalorian Queen in front of Obi-Wan, and the look on his Obi Wan's face.
You mean Duchess Satine. Yeah, that part was tragic, and Obi Wan still never let the Dark Side consume him, no matter how much he wanted to kill Maul for slaughtering the love of his life. Romeo and Juliet got nothing on that. :(
Saddest moment in the whole series is actually the moment when you realize that the episode your watching is actually the last one
I wish the clone wars writers wrote episode 7, 8 & 9
Me too kid, me too
As always, the music helps tremendously too especially in that last one
99 did not run supplies to have his memory disrespected luke that
I never thought about how Boba hesitated to kill ponds since he looked exactly like Jango
I really enjoyed Ashoka's character, she's what a well written woman character should look like! The clones are awesome too!
Seriously, props to Dee Bradley Baker for being the voice actor of every single Clone, plus some other characters in this show. It's gotta be a record or something.
I remember seeing ambush. I was 8 years old. I knew then that This show was going to be great. How great, I did not know. But damn I loved growing up with the show
The Battle of Umbara: Clones vs Clones was such an iconic, beautiful, epic scene! The writing is great! The music is great!
This show is almost more about the clones than the jedi. I loved it for this reason! (not saying the jedi stuff is bad)
Yes! I loved Padme's Teckla speech and Riyo Chuci is so funny when she cheer lol
Ooof that intro made me go back to the OG battlefront days. The nostalgia..
the clone wars had serious depth to its writing. One of the best cartoon series i have ever seen. Ashoka leaving was so moving also and it foreshadowed Anakin's betrayal of the jedi.
I always had a good feeling about this show.
Yes. I completely agree with with you. Sadness, & beauty. A sweet flower ..on fire. The tragedy of war, for peace.
Rest in peace Fives, may the force be with you
"The death of Waxer makes it the most emotional scene because of friendly fire"
Fives, who got shot in the chest for exposing order 66 and Palpatine as a sith along with Thorn(e) and the jedi Ima Gun Di: he has no respect for us!
"Yoda in his prime"
*is 800 years old*
5:01 - First time ever seeing this I thought Palps was breaking the 4th wall/monologuing
Death of fives was by far the most emotional moment of the show
Bro I swear the intro threw me back to 2004 Xbox playing the greatest Star Wars game ever
I really loved fictional politics. Showed how in-depth the war got.
That first episode has stuck with me for years. Literally made me fall in love with this show from episode one.
“She wreaked havoc on the Tranquility” - Geetsly’s 2019
Glad to know I'm not the only one who noticed the irony.
Fun fact:
In the series there’s only 2 times where’s the clones actually cried, one is waxer on his death and the other is rex during order 66, both related with clones killing clones
Rex cried twice in the finale. Once, when he pointed his guns to Ahsoka during Order 66, and again when he realizes the cost of surviving🥺😭
Even if they didn’t have the armor and different haircuts, I would still be able to tell most clones apart based on their personality alone. They did an amazing job.
8:10 Frinedly Fire
Clone wars is by far the greatest thing we got from star wars
Great video. I vividly remember watching all of these moments live on tv and I still feel the same. Such an amazing show
Not gonna lie, I basically cried and died a little inside during waxers death
Ooo the intro from the Star Wars battlefront takes me back to a good time. I still play that game and battle front 2

How Are these two things related?
The original Battlefront animation and sounds in your intro is soooooo nostalgic. Man as a kid I played that game constantly
“Frinedly fire”
"But I'm not coming back nastier. "
-Ashoka Tano
Me in the background crying my eyes out
Am I the only one that noticed the misspelled word? "Frinedly Fire", lol... at 8:14. Great video.
This show was/is amazing in creating the most jarring and realistic situations anyone could think of and be in the thick of. Waxer and the other clones dying for the amusement of a sadistic dark Jedi really hits you hard and makes you feel for the clones more than in the movies.
I liked commander ponds he was on the battle of geonosis “I don’t know how to spell that”
You got it right...
Wait, was he there? He was on Rhylot, no?
Rex risking his life to save his brothers.
This resonates deeply with me every time.
To bad Disney has to be greedy and ruin everything they see
Yeah they're bringing it back, doesn't mean its going to be leyendary or good as these seasons were. Everything Disney touches destroyes it.
@Réd Rôsé Disney is the reason it got cancelled in the first place
@@nicholasmcmahon9035 Cartoon Network was the reason it was cancelled. They can't continue something on their platform if another platform owns it. It's the same reason why Disney couldn't continue Spectacular Spider-Man when they acquired the rights to the character for TV. They didn't cancel the show for shits and giggles, they had to solve the rights problem first, and they did.
Jimmy Reyes Animation given the lack of quality from the films I’m not expecting much
@@sirprize275 Then look at Mandalorian, Fallen Jedi, the Rise of the Resistance attraction in the parks, and the fact that they're literally bringing everyone that worked on the Clone Wars back for the final season.
This isn't going to be Disney's show. They're giving everything to Dave Filoni and the original Clone Wars team. Dave Filoni's been given the chance to tell the stories HE wanted to tell and give the Clone Wars the ending HE originally wanted to give it.
