I have the same mk25 and I really want the reflex sight but do I need to buy an entirely new slide just to mount the sight? My mk25 rear part of the slide is totally smooth and there's no way anything could mount to it unless it was custom machined which I don't wnt to do
EastBayFM your options are buy another mk25 in the RX model ( which comes with the Romeo already mounted), have someone mill the slide( gun smith or sig), buy another slide that is milled, or your last possible option is an adapter that fits where your rear site posts are that is a mount for a red dot. Whether they work well or even exist for this model is unclear. What is also unclear is whether that adapter would accept a Romeo 1, which I think is unlikely. If it exists it would probably be for a fast fire to mount on. The first three options are great options, the last one is not a good option. For the milling option I would send to sig as I don't think the Romeo 1 is a standard mount and it would be best to let them do it as it would be easier to hold them accountable for incorrect work. Yah after my comment I kept digging and found the adapter kit specifically for the mk25 and a cheaper 70$ red dot sight that is compatible with the adapter. There reviews are good so for now I think I'm set
fayettenammilitia Romeo does sell adapters for sig glock and a few others but they are like 70$ just for the adapter... And obviously the Romeo are between 250-500$. The Amazon adapters look plenty good for the job. I mean it just needs to hold a small 1oz sight on with screws so I couldn't justify spending that much on such a simple little piece of metal
Eastbayfm, I understand where you are coming from but you get what you pay for. I would encourage you to not go that route and to get a slide that's already milled for a Romeo or have someone mill your slide but we all have budgets for what we want to do. So it's upto you to make that decision but my advice is against buying the adapter that slides in where your rear posts are. If you do it be sure to let us know how it goes!
EastBayFM It’s the recoil you have to contemplate. That’s why Sig mills the slides and you have to slide the sight in from the side, you cannot drop it in from the top. That’s how precise the mill is. And if you buy the caliber kit from Sig it comes with suppressor height sights so you can co-witness the iron sights with the red dot on the Romeo. Unfortunately, that is the best and most expensive option.
You need to send your slide away to have it milled for the sight you intend to put on it Or look into what you can sell your gun for vs what a p226 rx cost make sure to call around my lgs has them for 999 right now
GhettoInsane all my research has led me to finding out you need to buy the slide that comes with the gun in this video otherwise it's not possible unless you can take the slide out and cnc machine to exact specs this gun in tnt video has on its slide

gintoki sakata wrong. They sell adapters for the viper, Sig, Romeo and a few other brands of sights. The adapters are specific to the gun and the sight so you have to match them. I Judy Just ordered a red dot sight and adapter for my mk25
EastBayFM I know that but if you do that you probly won't be satisfied the sight will be up to high..... you wolnt be able to use your sights That's a really sub par solution for suck a high quality firearm but if that's what you wana do go for it and enjoy it

nice pistol but dude are you really using your sight to rack the slide no wonder your groups are so bad
If the red dot mounting system is of good quality you should be able to do that without issue
