I've been shooting photography most of my adult life. It started with an on sale Nikon D3200 that wasn't even interested in using, all the way through being a photography business owner, teacher, and TH-cam Photography Content Creator.
My favorite subjects are Human Portraits and Shallow Depth of Field with my specialty, or claim to fame if you will, being Dramatic Nude and Bodyscape. Over my many years of photography I've mastered many genres but I never stop learning and I don't want you to stop either. That's why I started my TH-cam Channel in the year 2020. After a hiatus from photography, I picked up my camera again just in time for the Covid Pandemic. The world shut down. With more time than ever and no humans to photograph I found myself bored but motivated. ZWade Photo, the TH-cam Channel, was born.
I have always been a Nikon brand photographer, but in my community on TH-cam there is limitless room for Canon, Sony, Fuji, Leica, Hasselblad, Nikon, AND any other brand, photographers. Follow along as this channel one day grows into the biggest, most honest, and most fun photography community on the internet.

I would strongly advise not buying a d850 new. There are so many used ones in excellent shape. Got mine used last year for 1600 with oem grip, 400 worth of sd and xqd and sandisk cards, and the box. Had 10k shots on it and some rubbing on the grip (which I replaced for ten bucks).

@@ZWadePhoto it really is an amazing camera. And no matter how much further I go buying z stuff (including a z9 someday), I will always keep my d850. D850 is a legacy camera and a piece of history. It is never not going to be the best all around dslr (people get mad when I say it is the best but between resolution and performance it is)
I actually love DSLR The used market is excellent for D750 and D850! I've been shooting the D750 and my 200 f2 ais nikkor more often lately - Colors on point and robust as hell! I have 500k actuations on my D750. The f-mount glass collection is also HUGE and have some of their best portraits lenses money can buy at silly cheap prices on the used market compared to what's on offer now with mirrorless. Mirrorless is fabulous but when I compare the two technologies, mirrorless is bordering very very clinical on the flip side to the DSLR's which comes with character. If one's into portraits sometimes clinical sharpness isn't necessarily what you want. Over Xmas I'm going to binge buy a whole bunch of F-mount lenses eg 105 f2 and 135 f2 AF-DC, 50 1.2 ais, 85 1.4, paired with D810 and maybe even a D850 :-)

Bought my D850 second hand. had 130k frame count and the only marks was where the strap rubbed. most shutter failures happen before 60k frame count, so do not be put off by a high frame count

Actually the last Nikon DSLR to date is the D780.
I did the Mirrorless thing with Nikon and lots of fuji, I went back to DSLRs for many practical reasons. DSLRs are not dead contrary to what the marketing TH-camrs like to tell you, DSLRs now gives you ore bang for your buck.
However I have kept my Z5, like you said it has one of the best sensors in that 24mp range for Nikon.

I saw a z7ii for 1999 a couple of weeks ago. But I am cool with my z6ii haven’t had it for a year
Not sure why the 7ii is not getting the same sale as Memorial Day weekend again. They did $1,000 ofF and that is when I got it. Because I bought some lenes going to Z I got it down to $1899 brand new.

Still shooting my D850 mostly with the 200-500 and 105 micro. A beat up war horse that just keeps giving fantastic results. .

sorry to say that those complaining about the Z6/z6ii Z7/Z7ii not meeting expectations are those that seem to know little about "USE CASE/FORM FACTOR" if you're not chasing fast moving subjects or you live in a studio setting; YOU'D BE CRAZY NOT TO PICK UP THOSE OLDER SYSTEMS. all that new AF-tracking is fluff is you like the idea of taking your time to get the shot.

That comes from first timers that have heard about Sony for the most part. The unknowing/newbies may find that those listed cameras are not what they were expecting.
For non newbies, you’re buying the sensor and glass first, everything else is a convenience.
I’m a glass guy, so that’s why I’m a Nikon guy
