Excellent. Finally a man who knows how to work both sides of the chisel.

Well ya made that look easy👌 most of mine are done with a sawblade with 4 teeth, a chisel thats more of a flat head screwdriver, a half dead battery in the saw, and the joint in the middle of a knot. And in the rain🤣

I just watched that vid , you subconsciously do lots of things that carpenters do that others did not realise, You cut waste side of the line , hollowed the joint out , and used a chisel that is suitable to be hit with a steel hammer , you put the chisel down on the timber , to keep the edge and not on the concrete floor
great stuff Robin , only people who see that stuff mentioned above are the ones taught that way , bang on mate

Nothing dangerous in this film. It is like walking on a pavement, dangerously near the traffic, but not walking in the road, that would be dangerous. His left hand never lined up with the force of the right. How can I be so sure? 40 years experience and a keen eye for footage. Your statement is good for a student but wasted on Robin.

  • @danielljanke

Have you considered using a battery router to check it out? You could use that jig with a clamp as a fence and rebate it all out. No marking out the depth or using 2 saws, a chisel and a hammer. Worth a try next time but heaps of wood shavings.

Todays timber is nothing like the timber we had in the late 70s which was Hemlock that was full of knots and hard as iron, no battery skill saws back then and no razor sharp hardpoint saws. A rip saw and a crosscut Diston and each halving was a 10 - 15 minute job for a skinny school leaver trying to learn a trade

  • @harrylenton9984

Hey!! i have got a few questions if that's ok?
I'm a labourer, I have all my own tools and consider myself as good if not better than a general builder, but believe the money I earn just don't warrant my skill and work level, I get paid a fair wack below £100 and that's not cash in hand so I pay tax etc , and sometimes leave my house before 7am and hardly ever get home before 7pm, I feel I'm stuck really as I love my job love working with the people I do, but I can earn more money working in a shop with less hours. What would you recomend. Do I just give up or keep pushing and learning more skills ? Kind regards mark
