I joined a bricklayers website out of England and I am from the United States of America I've laid bricks for 20 years but because I use talk to text because I am dyslexic I was really cool and made fun of by your countrymen I've watched you since you started you do wonderful work and you seem like a genuine person keep up the good work

From former carpenter and cabinet maker, that's not joinery, that's wood butchery.

Decent bricklayers, no trowel scraping, using the point of the trowel, no violin playing on the line, it would have been a pleasure working with you boys. Too late now I am retired

Look at whether grain going uphill or down before deciding which way up, and what side to cut. Now are you also doing wallplate straps etc ? Didn't see any bedding mortar on the lintel, but bet you have got the walls perfectly level. It's a good un 🙂 as you say. Look forward to next one.

Once the roof is on you won’t see that gap in the wall plate from the street (hopefully 🧐😆).

Thats how I do it these get the top course spot on flat and fix the plates on dry, only way with todays timber.

  • @coggsy3036

The shape of the timber you get today you are better off getting inside block work dead flat and level and leave the chippy bolt the wall plate down so he can pull any undulations out(weather bowed up,down, right or left) of the timber with the fixings, plus, that timber that’s been beaded down in mortar will just shrink.........

Tip from a joiner, instead of doing the cross cut then twatting it out with a bolster. Just use the saw to cut down the end grain to take the rest out. Saying that I've seen the state of brickys saws. . . . Always joiners hand me downs.

How’s that Milwaukee cut off saw working out for you guys? My current petrol cutter has just been stolen and in two minds whether to go for another petrol or try out the battery alternatives.
My only reservation is the cutting depth. Interested to hear your thoughts 👍🏼

    • @Stucrompton1
